We spent 5 days in Istanbul and the Barbera hotel is just near the Sirkeci trainstation and 650 m waking to the main attractions of the area : TOPKAPI, Hagia Sofia.....Eminonu port right at 200 m. The hotel is situated in an area full of restaurants and shops. Very safe area. Friendly staff, good English speaking, willing to help you with recommendations on anything .... Good turkish breakfast. If you are traveling by car is an"OTOPARK" right on the other side of the street! 10 euro / day to keep your car safety! We'll be back! PS If you are traveling by car is a bit difficult to find the location according with Waze or Google Maps. Better live the car at Sirkeci trainstation Otopark go by foot to the hotel ( 100 m) and ask somebody from the hotel for help! IT's an"OTOPARK" right on the other side of the street! 10 euro / day to keep your car safety!

Excellent stay at Barbera Hotel. Special gratitude to the wonderful hotel staff. The staff was so kind and thoughtful. We had an unfortunate family emergency and my husband had to fly out a day before me. After that they looked out for me and went out of their way to help when they could. We booked The taxi through the hotel but the taxi service charged my husband 20 lira extra over the fixed rate but the hotel staff were so apologetic when I told them and they returned the money to me. Always cheerful and helped with recommendations as well. The room was clean and well equipped. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was standard. Small bathroom but we didn’t mind. We will definitely be coming back to Istanbul and will certainly stay at Barbera hotel.

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast and location

First of all we booked this hotel for a week, but due to the life circumstances we had to stay there for a month. I will definitely recommend this hotel. It’s very cozy, clean, calm, beautiful. The bed is super comfortable, the room is warm. The shower is great and water pressure is great and hot water wasn’t a problem. The people who work there, we just have no words. They are super super kind and treated us in the best way. Thank you guys a lot, you made those weeks are much more better and brighter for us. It meant really much to us. You are the best. Location is also great, one of the best we stayed in Istanbul. It’s in the center, but in the calm street at the same time. it’s close to the very beautiful Gülhane park and marmaray, train station and all sightseeings. And also it’s just about 20 minutes to the Galata tower. There are MANY cafes around the hotel. Everything you could need is close. Also, there are no hills around the hotel (it’s just a big plus in Istanbul) and it would be great to stay with children. I can’t tell you how lucky we were to be here. Don’t hesitate to come here. it will be the right decision. We will recommend this hotel to everyone. Thank you so much and good luck.

Everything was just perfect.

It was very much at the centre… all the important monuments, attraction were just in walking distance. The surrounding is very lively with restaurants, shops and great baklava places Hafiz Mustafa being one of them. When it comes to the hotel itself, the room was very cute, super neat and clean. Towels and robes always had good smell. The reception team as well as the room service team were extra ordinary, went out of their way to help us with anything & everything we needed. One of the reception guys even handed us his tram card so that we can use it instead of buying one which was a very cute gesture. The hotel and the team make it a very cozy and warm place to be.

The location was great, very clean hotel with great staff, close to all the tourist attractions (and the tram), but also in a quiet peaceful place. Staff very helpful In letting us know how to get around and in arranging trips. The whole team made us very welcome. Great hospitality.

We were in a top floor room with a great view, but very little storage. Ok for a 2-3 day visit, but we were there a week and we were living out of a case. I think rooms on lower floors have more space, but we enjoyed the view.

Location was great, close to all the tourist main spots like the blue mosque, hagia sophia, grand bazaar, spice bazaar and just a 20 minute walk to galata tower. Staff were on point and very attentative to our needs and very helpful when asked about food, activities and so on..

The only minor issue we had was with the toilets in rooms 104 and 304, some times they didn't flush properly or were constantly running water.. this though was easily fixed by playing around with the knobs under neath the sink (right knob).. but maybe a service of the toilets would be a good idea.. :)

It is the best hotel we have stayed overall. Very high standard. Rooms clean and nicely designed Bed mattresses of highest quality especially considering persons who may have back pain / spine issues. Breakfast is superb. Staff is highly trained, gentle, professional and catered to each and every need of ours and we wish to convey our thanks to Kursad, Bilal, Murat, Sarjan, the director Emrit and his spouse who ensured we had everything we needed. It is a stay that we will not forget.

This is a lovely small family-run hotel right in the centre of the old town within walking distance of the major sites and two minutes from the tram station, yet in a quiet side street away from the bustle of the shops and restaurants of the main street. The owners do shifts at reception and all the staff are very friendly, which gives it a lovely personal touch. The room we stayed in was small, but clean and well equipped. The breakfast is superb with a wide range of egg dishes including a delicious menemen and much more. We can highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel room was very clean with a comfortable bed and a large shower with nice smelling towels. Turkish breakfast was delicious. Every morning new choices in pastries & mezze. All the hotel staff were lovely people. They were very welcoming and did everything to make our stay comfortable. Hotel Barbera was perfectly located within walking distance from the tourist attractions and public transport tram, train and ferry boats.

Maybe the view from the room wasn’t that nice as it was on a parking lot, but on the other hand it was very quiet there and also no noise in the room due to the double glazed windows.
