just as advertised. clean, homely, welcoming and friendly. perfect for a two night stay. relaxing sea view from room.

no negatives other than restrictive on site parking. however there is a car park within short walking distance to which the payment is reimbursed at the hotel. this is explained in booking.

Great selection of beers in the bar. Fantastic breakfast and evening meal. Location is brilliant, directly above the harbour.

Cosy room. Parking in the village 200m. (This was known)

We had a great stay at the Britannia Bungalow. The rooms were stylish with comfy beds, the place was spotless, the bathroom was great, and the amenities like biscuits, tea and toiletries were a nice touch. There were also sea views (via the beer garden). It was a quiet time so we had no issues with noise - but the windows were double-glazed so I imagine it's ok for busier times too. The pub itself is so interesting and full of character, and the staff we met were all nice. The B&B's breakfast was a highlight - massive and delicious, worth every penny. The location is also brilliant - a minute's stroll from the harbour.

While the bungalow does have sea views, they're via the pub's beer garden! Luckily for us it was very quiet but if you're in the living room, anyone in the beer garden can see you! We had to close the curtains at times!

We stayed in Britainnia Bungalow, which was perfect for 2 couples to relax in, having its own lounge area with sea views. The food was excellent. So much choice at breakfast, well cooked and presented. Quaint pub with some good ales and all amenities close by. As a note for anyone else staying the bungalow the toiletries provided were limited, so would recommend you bring your own. And don't forget that unless you have a blue badge you can't use the inn's car park.

Although breakfast was delicious, service was chaotic at times. We would recommend staggering breakfast times. Just an observation.

Beautiful comfortable bed. Really friendly staff, nothing seemed any trouble. The landlady whom we meet was very hospitable, very chatty and really interested in who we were and where we came from. Breakfast was exceptional, there wasnt anything not on the menu. My husband opted for full english as per the norm. I had beautifully buttery scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and brown toast. We had the choice of cereal 1st but we both agreed that we pleased we didnt because the potions were so plentiful. Lovely wide selection for evening meal, cooked to perfection. We would both thoroughly recommend a stay at The Olde Ship Inn, very friendly and welcoming

There wasnt anything we didnt like. Nothing at all.

Bed was comfy, room clean and warm. Breakfast was great - except on our first morning the server said that there were THREE different menus. On the second day the menu was different - there was no cereal or fruit juice on the menu we had. A quick check of other tables showed they were all the same - just different to the one that we had! The breakfasts were well cooked and looked like they had been air fried. That evening we tried the crab soup which was delicious! I had the pie and mash both evenings - they do a different pie each day and they were great. The Prawn and Crayfish Cocktail was stuffed full of seafood - I've never had one so good. A nice, quirky touch, the bill arrived in a box dressed to look like an old book.

As mentioned above - having THREE different breakfast menus in circulation. Also, the hotel doesn't have parking (except for Blue Badge holders) so you have to pay to park whilst staying - which is an additional cost to factor into your stay. Having said that, the rule didn't seem to be applied and people seemingly parked at will - some seemingly parking whilst taking their dog for a walk or to have a drink in the beer garden!

Great location right on the harbour. Staff absolutely fantastic throughout all shifts. Accommodation exceptionally clean. Excellent breakfast - plenty of options and brilliantly done.

Only one issue and it’s probably my own fault for not reading the room facilities correctly but the ‘kitchenette’ is only a sink, storage cupboards and tea/coffee making facilities - no fridge or cooking/microwave facility so if you plan and keeping any foodstuffs make sure they don’t require refrigerating or cooking in the accommodation.

The parking for my motorcycle. The location to the Quay for views of a lovely morning. The bar is one of the best I've been in, with great ales. The food that's on offer was outstanding with a great choice of local produce, my favourite being crab soup. The service at night & for breakfast great. Would have been a 10/10 had it not been for the heating & shower. I will return with wife & dog.

Having to report a room that was cold twice before it was sorted (either valve on radiator or pressure dropped according to who you spoke to). The shower was poor also but this could be due to plumbing issue.

Gorgeous, clean and cosy Inn with great views. My partner booked a kingsize room for my birthday on new years day which was amazing, very spacious with a large bay window with seating overlooking the main street with views of the sea. A huge four poster bed which was very comfortable, be aware this is a very high bed though steps are provided. Staff helpful and friendly. We had one evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant both were very nice the only downside for myself was the bread / toast which was sourdough bread with no alternative. A perfect birthday treat.

A very old put with a maritime atmosphere. Even a lounge for guests and sort of a gallery with maritime exhibits. Staff very friendly and with a good sense of humor. Room quiet and despite of the rough weather very warm and cosy.

Nothing really to put down here. Probably the drink prices were a bit high, as over £8 for a large glass of wine. But this may be just normal for a location like this, and needed to keep the place running. So not really a big issue, but put down here for completeness. The positives really outweigh this.
