Excellent large room and massive bathroom with good shower over bath, clean and comfy beds. Walking distance to some lovely restaurants on the main street. Breakfast was included with a good selection of pastries, cereals, yogurts, etc and tea and coffee (coffee very weak). They then come and take your order for cooked food which ranged from a breakfast sandwich to full English all made fresh to order. The hotel has pub downstairs which does very good pub grub and has a beer garden at the back for when the weather is nice. Will be back.

The bathroom door in our room was very sticky and would not shut (room 11). Also, toilet very noisy when flushing, could hear next door every time they went to loo.

Thanks to Diana and all her staff. We received a lovely, friendly welcome on arrival. Our room was fantastic, so much space for us and our pampered pooch. Our breakfast was really nice too and our dog even got treated to her own portion of sausage and fried egg - she was soooo happy!! We were only visiting overnight but, had we needed to be in Morpeth for any length of time, we would definitely have been more than happy to extend our stay at The Waterford Lodge. The neighbouring park was perfect for walking our dog and the atmosphere and food and service in the hotel was very good indeed. We would definitely recommend this accommodation and hopefully we will get the opportunity to return one day.

Everything was just right for us. There wasn't anything that we didn't like, only that we couldn't stay longer!!

It is a lovely place to stay , rooms are a bit dated but it's an old coaching house so it's what you expect. We had breakfast included which was excellently cooked. The room was spacious with a double and single bed. There were plenty of tea , coffee, milk etc. Also extra towels as there are no cleaning staff on a Sunday .The bar/lounge is really nice and the staff were helpful and friendly.

The shower didnt work very well and the chairs in the room weren't very good to sit in.

Such kind, helpful staff. Let us check in a little earlier as hotel wasn't busy. Felt like we got a personal service. Wonderful location, on edge of a pretty town.

It was a bit noisy trying to sleep until midnight overlooking the beer garden. And then we heard the glassware being emptied/collected at 7am. But we do understand that they are a licensed premises, too.

Good value for money hotel in a good location to Morpeth town centre. After a disappointing breakfast the previous day, Diana was on duty. Extremely welcoming, organised, a real asset to The Waterford Lodge. Diana helped change our view on this booking.

Inexperienced, uninterested staff on our first day tainted our opinion of this hotel.

The staff were very polite and helpful and it was a lovely building in a lovely location. Nice bar, great food and very clean. Would definitely stay again.

Double room was slightly on the small side but as we were only staying one night it was adequate. Had to have cold showers in the morning but again we only needed the shower once.

Staff were very friendly Food was good, Good selection for breakfast,only comment that breakfast on second morning was not very hot. Evening meal was very good.

The hotel could take car registration of residents so they knew who was using the carpark as we nearly got clamped in the morning because we had to park outside

Room was freshly decorated in restful colours. All well appointed with plenty of space. (mind you there were two of us in a room for 4!) . Bedding excellent. Everywhere well organised for Covid and staff were properly primed. Excellent location so that we could walk into the town easily for our choice of evening meals.

Bathroom a bit 'tight', particularly the toilet in the corner squashed behind the towels. Good quality bacon at breakfast but cutlery had difficulty cutting it! Couldn't really say that the tomatoes were 'cooked', but I'm probably being picky. Very limited dinner menu, but probably because they couldn't yet open their restaurant.

This is our 3rd stay since June … and we absolutely love this place … I cannot recommend it enough to .. Lauren, Darren, Lucy and Charlotte are just amazing !!! Nothing is a problem at all .. food is fantastic , cooked breakfast , burger and cocktails are amazing !!! Location is just the best with loads of shops and bars close at hand ..

food was nice. room was big although tired looking the bathroom sparkled very clean. no one coming in to make beds or change towels. food and drink good

the room look tired could do with coat of paint the fire alarm going off at 1:30 am and not much organizing from staff when it did
