Staff very good, helpful and happy, the manager was very helpful. Sunday lunch was excellent, also ate on the first night of our stay here, all four of us commented on how good the food was.

I am sure the breakfast was value for money but at seemed a bit expensive for the two of us, so we skipped this and ate a bit later when we were out. The car parking fee also seemed a bit odd on site at £10 per night.

I've stayed on 2 occasions and both times have been great, the staff are just amazing and friendly, they waited up while we were late to check in ,there shift had ended but still waited until we arrived , the lady who served us at breakfast is spot on great asset to your team And cahlifa is just awesome...again late checking in but was at the end of the phone at 2am to help us find the room ..apologies once again for that.. the room was very comfortable and clean, credit to the housekeeping staff who also made our room up everyday 😀. Just perfect

Carparking should be included in the stay , if i was to stay again I think ide Park elsewhere as per night is expensive esp when your staying 3 nights or more...but that's my only gripe. Well done everyone, love this hotel

Really good sized bedroom, very modern, xlarge bed, spotlessly clean and a definite plus was the small fridge in the room..nice touch. Breakfast was excellent.. lovely italian coffee and plenty of choice of cereal pastries juices etc and cooked breakfast was just perfectly cooked...staff very attentive. I was slightly worried that being a pub that noise might be a problem but not at all as the rooms are in a separate building at the back so no issues at all

Only slight criticism was the mattress was a little hard for me so I was a tad uncomfortable.. but that's my personal choice.. wouldnt put me off returning or recommending

The staff couldn't be more helpful!! I didn't take any names unfortunately but from check in to breakfast service to check out everyone was so incredibly friendly and helpful, we really couldn't have asked for more! We were allocated the bridal suite which was really spacious and we had 2 fans already in the room which came in very useful. The breakfast was £15 each which we thought was a bit steep but it was incredibly varied and taste great so it was worth it.

The only 2 things I can think of that would have made it a little better was that in bathroom, there was always a noise under the sink whenever it was used so I had a look at what it was and I think there might have been a sewage problem somewhere as there were a lot of air fresheners sat under there next to the tank trying to mask the smell which did for the most part but you could occasionally smell it. The other thing was that all electrics, apart from the TV, are wired into the wall so you only have 2 sockets to use; we went down to reception and luckily they had 1 last extension cable left but I'd either encourage guests to bring their own to avoid disappointment or have the guest have more spares/already have them in rooms.

The location of the Portland is perfect for our needs. The rooms are very well decorated, clean and spacious. There is a great choice on the menu and the food is excellent. All the team members are very friendly and always welcoming.

Paying for overnight parking. Whilst I appreciate why there is a charge, (the huge rise in utilities costs has not resulted in a large rise in room rates, so this charge would help towards those costs) it wasn't stated clearly in our reservation. This was our second stay at the Portland, the first time had no charge for parking. After checking through the booking site after our visit I found the added parking as 'small print' tucked away. It would have been better to have been transparent with the added cost. However, the charge would not stop us staying here again. So don't be put off by it.

Was a beautiful place everyone was so friendly ,the food looked lovely at teatime ,wished I'd ate there , I only had breakfast was worth it was lovely ,the rooms are done out fabulous overall a lovely place of stay

The cleaners could of cleaned a square room instead of round all corners were missed off hoovering, the dust gathered in all corners ,I have a cleaning business if my team done that there'd be trouble Shower was immaculate until bent down to dry meself the drain was scruffy ,please start checking cleaners work ,they need more time to clean

the staff were superb very accommodating & friendly we’re happy & very eager to assist. food was lovely & great menu options

had to pay extra to park the car for two nights, just include this in the price of the room was a bit of a rip off to be honest having to pay £20 extra! also the plug wouldn’t stay in so I could have a bath, please don’t advertise faculties that then don’t work as I was much looking forward to having a nice relaxing hot bath & one of the main reasons for choosing this hotel so was disappointed I couldn’t have one, please fix it.

The bed was huge, so we had plenty of room. The TV was also huge. I liked that the room was in a separate building from the restaurant/pub area as that was quite noisy.

Having to pay for a parking space. Breakfast was lovely, but I felt very rushed by the lady constantly running around taking the plates off the tables and not giving you a chance to eat, considering its price was extra. There was no warning that there was a dog in the room next door barking during the night.

Lovely room, very clean, really good breakfast with lots of choice, excellent value for money. All staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, even to the point that when we couldn't get a taxi to a post-wedding party, a member of staff gave us a lift! Would definitely stay here again and can recommend highly.

The onlyl problem was the green emergency lighting in our room, which was on all night and was quite intrusive. We fond it difficult to get to sleep because of it. It would have been much better if it was positioned closer to the door and therefore less conspicuous.

Fab hotel, and great staff. I was a little concerned that it was a bar/pub to but the accommodation is in a separate building so noise was not an issue. We ate before we arrived which we regret as the restaurant and menu looked incredible. Staff were super friendly.

Parking overnight is £10 so where possible find some local residential street parking if you don't want to pay. Our room had a slight smell of foist, nothing major, the room just needs airing better or some air freshener.
