Anglers Arms

The location was excellent for exploring the area. The staff were friendly and helpful and the evening meals were good value for money and tasty. The room was large with a big bed and we liked the walk-in shower as we struggle with over-bath showers.

There was no mirror in the bathroom. It looked as though there had been one but needed replacing. The large bed was close to the wall so one person had to leave via the end of the bed, although there was space to move it. Some breakfast items weren't available some of the time but what we had was delicious.

Very quiet location. Nice staff. Great breakfast.

Suspect might be noisy on other nights with live music

The property was ideally situated so we could, attend our sons, 40th birthday party. First class breakfast with excellent service.

The main problem was there, was no running hot water for any of the, washbasins, in any of the three rooms we booked. Also there was no central heating on in any of the rooms, however there was a small convector supplied in each of the rooms but this wasn't sufficient enough to heat up the large family room adequately. We didn't complain though as we were only staying for one night.

Room spacious and clean. Tea, coffee and water available in the room. Nice friendly welcome, polite and locals in the bar made me feel welcome also. Even meal bought in the evening, really nice and value for money. Breakfast included in the price was extremely good value and above what I expected for the price. Was very reasonably priced stay and was above my expectations.

This was an excellent wee find, friendly, family run business. Staying on my own I was made to feel so welcome and nothing was a problem for them. It was a great atmosphere within the the pub where you could eat or a separate restaurant if that meets your needs better. The room was a really good size and excellent house keeping services. Good size car park. The food was lovely and freshly cooked and adapted to meet my needs, really good value for money.

Everything about the Anglers Arms was really great and the owners were very accommodating. The rooms were comfortable, beautiful and everything you needed. The breakfast tasted amazing, very fresh and delicious my daughter and I were served by a lovely lady called Abbie who attended to our every need and couldn't do enough for us. Unfortunately we had a family emergency and had to leave earlier than expected but they were very accommodating.

Quiet location on the edge of housing estate,situated on the banks of the river Wansbeck. Food is well presented,proportioned & good value.A popular venue with locals & visitors..Staff were amazing & very helpful,as well as welcoming friendly locals.

My only issue was no mirror in the bathroom,wasn’t a big deal as i was only staying one night.

Everyone did their best to please. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely location. Under new ownership just before Covid with continual improvements being carried out and aiming for a higher standard rating. Easy flat walking area along riverside nearby. Close to the coast. Quiet location.

Carpets in the bar and dining room were in need of cleaning.

We found this family owned and operated pub and accommodation to be very friendly, clean and tidy and very "Homey". We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and it was a good, tasty meal. The room was large and the bed comfy. The bathroom had everything and was clean. Breakfast was amazing! We were so well fed by the owner that we didn't need anything to eat until dinner time! All in all a wonderful family experience.

Breakfast was very good. I chose bacon and eggs from a wide selection on offer. It was cooked fresh and she cooked me a couple more eggs as the first were slightly over-cooked, even though I had said they would be fine.

The cook/waitress couldn’t see or hear the table area from the kitchen so I waited several minutes for attention when I arrived for breakfast.
