Staff were super friendly and kind and very helpful with my dietary requirements. Nothing was too much bother, and we felt really looked after. The room was really spacious and comfortable, with a seating area and also a coffee machine. The whole room and bathroom were spotless and fresh. The location is perfect. It is quiet with stunning views over the Solway Firth and even with rain and cloud it was a beautiful sight! Really loved every bit of the stay and will definitely visit again!!

Slightly plumper pillows and some biscuits would have put the cherry on the cake, but these minor things did not detract from the awesomeness of everything else!!

We were greeted by a lovely friendly member of staff on arrival and checked in straightaway. We were told that we had been given the new room with views across the bay. When we got to our room we were amazed! It was everything we were told it was and more! Lovely large comfy bed, settee and lounge area and the views were fantastic. Coupled with a sparkling large shower in the spacious bathroom en-suite we were very happy indeed. I can’t recommend this hotel enough - it’s a real hidden gem! We will definately be back - thank you for your hospitality!

Very friendly staff, excellent service at table and reception. Breakfast excellent and the views from the restaurant and our bedroom beautiful.

The food was very tadty6, but the mixture of small plates difficult to choose from rather than a traditional first and second course. I went for the beetroot and feta burger which is a traditional main and it was great. My husband chose a salmon and cheese pate, which was excellent and a not so successful pigeon breast. However overall the food was delicious. We will most definitely be back

The location is very pretty and there are lovely views out to sea, with the hills beyond. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was excellent - not too soft and lovely quality bedding. The staff were friendly and professional. The food in the restaurant was of a higher standard than we were expecting.

The tv in our room was a bit dated and it took a while to change channels. It would have been good to have had access to on-demand streaming services such as the i-player or Netflix. The lighting in the restaurant was very bright, which detracted from the atmosphere a bit!

Exceptionally warm welcome from the staff! After a long road trip with children the staff were incredibly accommodating, welcoming and helpful. A fantastic hotel as a stop over en route to the Highlands, easy parking, lovely location (golf course and a waterfront). The room met our needs and my children had an undisturbed nights sleep, the bathroom was clean with a powerful shower. Breakfast was freshly cooked with a menu that offered traditional fayre as well as salmon/haddock and continental options.

Dinner service finished at 8pm so if your traveling be aware of this. My only disappointment was that we didn’t arrive earlier to fully enjoy this fabulous hotel!

The location was perfect overlooking the Solway and nice and peaceful. The room was excellent with a side view which let us look at the water and also the golf course. The room was spotless and well appointed. The restaurant was lovely with large windows overlooking the sea. I can only say exceptional to describe the staff from the moment I arrived till We left . The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. The food in the restaurant is like Scottish tapas. small plates so you get to sample several different dishes. This makes it easier to choose when you cant decide on what to have. Simply try three or four.

Plain and simple nothing everything was first class

Shore side location in a village comprising 120 houses (a resident told me the history of the village whilst out for a walk) and the friendliest residents I have ever met. First impressions of the hotel were ok but the reception staff immediately put you at ease with a warm friendly check in.Room was good with a view over the golf course and the sea. Restaurant staff were superb explaining the tapas style menu. We ate there 2 nights in a row and the food was exceptional and the portion sizes are the size of a starter. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. Ample parking. Possibly the friendliest hotel I have stayed in with really pleasant down to earth staff.

The pod coffee maker does not work well for a cup of tea

The evening meal was excellent as was breakfast. A very special mention has to go to the hotel staff in reception and the restaurant, they were just fantastic. Very polite, helpful and with plenty of humour when needed, just brilliant. View from our room was very good indeed as was the case from lounge and restaurant. Parking very good. Would definitely stay again given the opportunity.

The sound proofing in our room was not very good as you could hear people in neighbouring rooms, doors banging and heavy footed people running about.

The location of this hotel overlooking the Solway Firth is superb. It is perfectly located with walks overlooking the water right outside the door. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the meals were truly excellent. What a lovely change to have a tapas-style evening menu. The hotel is very nicely decorated; is immaculately clean and has a very pleasant ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights in the hotel and look forward to another visit.

We booked a room with balcony but due to unavoidable circumstances it was not possible to have this room - insted we had a very nice room allocated to us which overlooked the water.

So pleased with our two night stay. Hotel restaurant not to be missed. Well thought out, varied and delicious tapas menu. Excellent choice of breakfast too. Beautifully prepared and served. Top quality ingredients. Smoked haddock with poached egg and chive cream a particular favourite. As well as the full breakfast. Something for everybody. All of the staff were really friendly and the hotel was beautifully decorated throughout. Oh and great cocktail menu!

There was nothing I didn’t like.
