A nice room and bathroom with welcome chocolate, coffee and sweets. B&B with a private parking. Quiet location. Very close tot city center (walking distance). Use of a micro wave.

This is a self check inn B&B so you need to check your mails to enter the builing and the room to get the pin code. Couldn't find the key to the room because key card was forgotten inside the closed room. Had to ring the owner who answered the call immediatly and offered help.

The owner, Frida, was very welcoming when we arrived and had very kindly changed our room to the ground floor as I had not specified that we are a couple in out mid-80's. The room was spotless and very nicely furnished in very good taste. The ensuite was well designed and very good quality taps and fittings had been used. The shower worked really well and was easy to use. Excellent TV and good tea and coffee facilities. Super comfy bed - what more could you want? The breakfast room was light and airy. A very good choice of cereals or a cooked breakfast was on offer with good tea and excellent coffee. The cooked breakfast I had was very nicely prepared and freshly cooked. Ten out of ten for the sausage - always a good sign! Excellent location in the centre of town within a stone's throw of the railway station. We stayed 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer.

Car parking could be a little difficult but we had no trouble.

The location was near the train station and 5 minutes walk from the town centre. A lovely river walk took you into town if you wanted a longer walk along the river into town. Free parking was available at the side of the hotel, Lovely bedrooms, clean, well equipped with TV, tea and coffee machine etc. with a large ensuite shower room. Breakfast was excellent in both quality and value and the staff were happy to give information, and recommendations of places to see and visit.

We loved everything! Location was easy to find. The owner (I presume), gave us a tour and a quick understanding of how the locks of the building work. The rooms were beautifully decorated. Some recommendations on where to eat would be nice! We stumbled upon Pizza il fume which was nice close to the town centre, by the riverside. Overall a nice stay! Thank you 😊

We felt like the beds were quite hard. But that was our only criticism

Rapid response to enquiry. Easy access to the accommodation with clear instructions for access. Accommodation was of a high standard. Tea and coffee making facilities available. The room and bathroom were clean. Accommodation was in a central location. The owner was easy to communicate with and also accommodated my request for vegetarian sausages at breakfast. I would be happy to recommend and return to this accommodation.

No concerns about any aspect of our stay

The room was well decorated, spacious, and had a very welcoming atmosphere and was very comfortable. The bed was great with nice quality linens, and I had a great night's sleep. Lovely shower room. Nice quiet location but close enough to the town centre. Would recommend and would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

The only minor issue would be that there was no shampoo, which is normally standard. Apart from that, no complaints.

Well appointed annex room with a few tasty treats and eats for guests. Ensuite was very acceptable, as we're large shower towels provided. The £5 breakfast was good value - fruit juice, basic cereals choice, variety of cooked options, toast, etc. - and my wife and I both enjoyed that. The host was very helpful and friendly, (she suggested La Dolce Vita for evening meal, which was fine) and we appreciated the off-road parking spaces. We would be happy to return in the future.

Not a lot really, except some minor suggestions, eg: TV in annex had no text/red button facilities to check news and travel on BBC channels. A fruit option at breakfast would have been helpful, as would an alternative cereal (Museli/ Weetabix?) to rice krispies, coco pops and crunchy nut cornflakes. Some printed instructions in the annex bedroom about using the coffee machine, and why the cereals and bowls were in the bedroom, but no milk? Don't let such detail put you off - we felt welcomed, well cared for, and happy with our stay!

Everything...Great location a few yards from train station, where buses into/from town stop. Spotlessly clean, warm & very comfortable. Facilities are good, plenty of sockets. Hosts were naturally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, couldn't fault it all...think you were undercharging at £5.00 for what we had along with quality o f produce served. We will definitely be back when we next pop up to Dumfries,

Nothing to dislike

Loved absolutely everything about The Huntingdon and would return and highly recommend this B&B without question. Location, car parking & check-in were all great, and our room was lovely, I had requested to have twin beds which were really cosy and comfy. Nice big TV on the wall and good Wi-Fi. The bathroom was gorgeous, the shower was really powerful and hot and the big fluffy towels were fabulous! My daughter had to leave the room early for a swimming gala at the pool nearby (DG1) so she had a quick bowl of cereal from the guest kitchen, which was just perfect for her. I had time to eat later on so I had filled out the breakfast order form the night before and ate breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Breakfast was brilliant, the food was delicious, cooked perfectly and well presented. I absolutely loved my short overnight stay at The Huntingdon. Thank you Freda for a really lovely stay in Dumfries and look forward to returning again soon!

Couldn’t fault it. Loved everything about it.
