Sure Hotel by Best Western Lockerbie

The hotel has clearly undergone a major refurbishment, i had read previous reviews about poor bathrooms, however it appears they were unjust, as my bathroom was brand new, in fact the reception team explained during my stay that all bathrooms are currently being upgraded they have currently completed over 50% of them, and hope to have them all completed very soon, the restaurant was also great, over 40 gins to sample and a menu with specials daily, i had teh haggis bon bons followed by Slow cooked Belly Pork delicious, cant wait to return next month on business.

Nothing, it more than exceeded my expectations and only cost £80, I would have happily paid more for the level of room, food and service that I received, the only draw back the gym did not open until 7am, so I didnt have time to use these facilities.

The room was huge! The shower a wet room and delicious, hot and powerful. The food was good as was the bar. The bed was comfortable and despite being adjacent to the M74 we didn't hear a thing but we were at the back.

Although the wet room was great the lack of slope on the drainage meant some considerable paddling to access the sink for sometime after taking a shower. Also the toilet was set on plinth and at 5' 4" I was swinging my feet. The towel rail was above the toilet paper. Wet towels draped over loo roll. Take care where you put your towels!

The room was lovely with a huge comfortable king size bed. Very pretty in terms of the design too with different shades of grey. The staff was very helpful and friendly, good location as well. Breakfast was delicious, I appreciated the French pastries maybe a bit too much.

The shower was the downside for me, I didn't think it was very straightforward to use it and the bathtub was very slippery. Also, the breakfast wasn't included in my booking so I had to add it when needed. It would have been perfect it was a bit cheaper (£15 for full traditional breakfast, £10 for continental) but overall a lovely stay!

Easy access off the M74 as a stop over on the way to Scotland. Had good sized car park. Enjoyed our evening meal, Restaurant was really nice, good food and staff were lovely. Nice, big comfy bedroom.

Breakfast was VERY expensive at £15 each for a very basic buffet breakfast, especially the cooked items. I almost booked a different hotel when I saw the price of breakfast, but on reading some reviews saying it was a great breakfast changed my mind. However, was very disappointed, especially as we were told on checking in breakfast was cooked to order. The hotel should be ashamed to charge this amount for the breakfast provided.

Bar doesn't open till 3pm (we were attending a wedding), they closed restaurant on night of wedding without mentioning to guests but luckily my partner and I were added onto the wedding party table but not really the point. Could do with new mattress in room as springs not so good. Disappointing really

The dinner menu was excellent. We ended eating at the hotel both nights of our stay and the food was great both nights. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the bar offered a good range of drink options. Although next to the motorway with a view of it from the room, it was peaceful and quiet throughout our stay

The breakfast was not good for the price. In fact it was terrible. The continental breakfast was not fresh and the cooked breakfast used cheap ingredients and was poorly presented. The coffee was also terrible.

We arrived in time for dinner which was really lovely , I have a dairy allergy, I felt listened to and understood. Food was great. We had a comfortable nights sleep in a very clean room. Breakfast was good too. There were two teenage girls working in the restaurant for dinner and again for breakfast, they were exceptional. Attentive, efficient, pleasant, smart, tidy and very pleasant to chat with. an amazing asset to the hotel.

The rooms where clean and enough space for family of 4. Staff where nice . You can see the hotel is looked after .

I would have liked the bar to be open as when getting ready for wedding there wasn't drinks available . I understand they don't open till 3 but when there's people there for wedding times should change .

Great little location

Would never pay £15.00 for breakfast and the disabled room although fab the bathroom door didn't shut properly meaning anyone in the room could hear you whilst on the toilet. The step on to the toilet was too short meaning falls were more likely which wasn't great for someone with a back condition like I have. I myself, nearly fell a couple of times. The toilet seat needs replacing too it's not fitting properly.

The hotel was basically fine, but just lacking the 'wow' factor. They are used to accommodating bikes, which spent the night in the ball room.

It's a little out of town, further than you might want to walk. There was refrigeration plant within ear-shot running all night and it was warm enough to need a window open.
