Convenient from main road. Room was spacious and despite being near the motorway and a railway line was quiet and had a good nights sleep

Was a bit more challenging with the dog. Paid £10 extra to have dog with us and were given a room nearer to the back exit for late/early walkies which was great. However dog not allowed in breakfast room so had to put him in the car which was not ideal given he would be spending much of the day in the car on a long journey. Breakfast buffet was fine but lacked fresh items: tinned peaches, some melon slices and apples available. Did offer cooked eggs and fresh croissant (but only 1)

The Hotel although looking a little tired from the outside gave no indication of how beautifully all common areas and rooms had been decorated.Facilities in room were excellent, very clean.Continental Breakfast was an excellent spread, layed ouy a vast array of cereals, fruit plus fresh fruit.cold meats and cheese, yoghurt. Then to top it off Angela the waitress come cook asked if we would like home made croissants ,toast, and choice of boiled, poached,or scrambled eggs.(she evenknows how to coddle the poached eggs the way they should be cooked)On top of that very friendly.Has a pleasant bar.

If you want a quiet night ask for room at back, front bedrooms if you are a light sleeper a bit noisy from nearby motroway in front bedrooms, did not bother me but wife struggled 1st night but had a good second night.

Very attentive hosts. Room sizes were good. Very close off the motorway. Good place to stay overnight if making long journeys. I would stay here again.

Was some motorway noise but not too bad considering how close the hotel was to the road. Not alot of information for travellers for what was nearby. I knew the area so I knew what was nearby went to lockerbie. Hotel did have Scotland guide but our room had no info nearest shops. Drs. Etc would have been good to know.

The hotel was easily found just off the M74 in the dark, really well signposted. Plenty of space to park within the grounds. The building is full of character with lots of history and looks recently decorated. The carpets and furnishings all seemed new. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was plentiful with an excellent selection of items.

One room was a little cold but there was a heater.

The staff were extremely helpful, pleasant and friendly, the house was very old and interesting. Continental breakfast was very good and we were offered cooked eggs of our choice, my husband and I were very pleased with the whole experience. We loved our stay and we will definitely return.

Nothing, it would of been nice to have had an evening meal but due to short staff this was not possible, this was totally acceptable and understood

Warm, clean, comfortable beds, quirky details, lovely continental breakfast. Lovely elderly couple who went the extra mile to provide an early breakfast asxee were leaving early in the morning.Just off the motorway. Easy to find. Good for the traveller.

Perhaps if arriving later in the day have something to eat or bring something with you as nearest restaurant is about 5 miles, I believe.

Great location for a stop driving to Scotland its a rambling unique hotel very atmospheric place my room was large spotlessly clean and comfortable. Shower power was great and it even had a bath Owners very friendly Great breakfast plenty of continental style choices and I was offered cooked eggs Excellent value for money

Just bear in mind it's an old grand building and it is bed and breakfast only

Architecture of building was lovely. The hosts were really nice. Breakfast was good as was offered eggs and toast on top of the continental breakfast. Lovely experience, would stay again.

Sadly rooms a little tired and could do with some tlc. Wifi was patchy, ( but didn't check to see if this could be rectified as was late at night). Bed was soft. (Some people may like that).

Plenty of choice for the Continental breakfast, on the last morning we were offered eggs which was a lovely suprise before our long journey home. John and Ange were very welcoming made us feel at home. The property itself had lots of character and history.

Clean rooms, crisp bedding and comfortable beds Owner accommodated us moving forward our booking a day at very last minute due to Amber weather warning in Scotland

When I booked it was pet friendly but this changed after booking. Phoned to get confirmation that dogs accepted for a £10 a night fee. However then very limited as to where do could go in hotel
