The Harvard Inn

Beautifully kept and presented with thoughtful decor. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Room relatively large with good quality and roomy furniture. Bathroom excellent (disabled friendly). Parking outside the door of our room. For dinner, food excellent with interesting combinations, fresh ingredients and good service.

The windows in our room could not be left open in a secure way due to the design of the fastenings. We were on ground floor with door straight out to carpark and potentially accessible to anyone so securely openable windows, or if not air conditioning, would help this. There was a fan but despite this I was too hot (warm night in June) to be really comfortable at night.

Loved the decor, the hotel felt homely, the rooms were clean and cosy with a lovely sized shower room. Breakfast was included in our booking which we were glad we did, there was a great selection of continental and cooked breakfast. All my family was staying in this hotel for a family wedding near by and we all had a lovely stay. My mum who is elderly, had an old stables room based outside the hotel which was lovely and adapted for disabled people and my daughter had the room next door to her, it was like little cottages. My mum said it felt like home and will miss it very much.

Was well presented, plenty of parking. Staff were first class and accommodating , fitted me in for a meal when they had large numbers in. really enjoyed my fillet. Bar area nice and comfortable to sit and have a drink. Room was very nice with the good facilities and. a great shower. room temp easy to control and good info guide. Pleasant welcome in the morning for breakfast - and it was well cooked and well presented . Again staff were great and happy to serve. The coffee I thought was great. All in if I was down that way again - I’d stay in. a heartbeat. Good job an I think the gent at the bar who checked me in was called Mark and the whole team.

Very efficient check in and check out. Parked in the car park before check in as I was attending a wedding, was able to collect my room key early. All staff very friendly and welcoming. Room very clean.

The room was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep in, had to sleep with the fan on! It was room 6 above the kitchen. That room could do with air conditioning because opening a window and using the fan aren't enough.

We stayed at the Harvard Inn on 8 November 2022. We received a very warm welcome on our arrival and all the staff that we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable. There was plenty of onsite parking. It was only a short but very enjoyable stay, the highlight of which was the food. We ate in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival and were delighted that we did - the quality of the cooking and the presentation of the food was impressive! The breakfast the following morning was equally impressive - the quality of the ingredients, such as the bacon, sausage and mushrooms was evident. We would definitely stay again and have already recommended The Harvard Inn as a prospective eating place to family who live locally.

Only thing was the chair in our bedroom was quite low and quite difficult to get up from (if you have problems with your hips as I do).

Fabulous staff, so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The building is gorgeous, really well kept. Plenty of safe parking and in a great location. Bed was so comfortable with soft bedding. Food and drink delicious (huge portions!) A great pub and hotel, i'd definitely recommend it.

Totally out of the control of the hotel so it's not a reflection on them, but if you enjoy a lay-in, i'd suggest bringing some ear plugs as they had a beer barrel delivery at about 7am which was right outside our window!

The staff are very welcoming and keen to make your stay enjoyable. The room we were staying in was clean, well decorated and had a decent size bathroom with a good shower. It was also nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Despite the room being very nice it's location next to a busy road made sleep difficult. If you are also a light sleeper it would be wise to ask for rooms (the stables) at the back of the property. Breakfast service was somewhat chaotic but everything was freshly cooked.

We visited and stayed one night as we were going to Creamfields South as a day pass without camping.. The Harvard is in a gorgeous location and a stunningly beautiful building and decor matches. We didnt eat in the restaurant but the day menu looked amazing and judging by our wondeful breakfast, I bet the food was fantastic. The room was superb, beds were so comfortable, facilities spot on and shower really good. We'll be back next year! Thankyou for having us.

Breakfast was very good indeed. Location was ideal and convenient as we were attending a reception at Crondon Park Golf Club. As we had my 93 year old mother in law with us, it was great we could be accommodated with 2 rooms adjacent to each other which also gave us more privacy.

Felt a little uneasy once actually read the T&Cs regarding breakages as accidents do sometimes happen, obviously it's a different matter if the room was trashed. Also my husband and I are well travelled all over the world and have never worried about taking our own beverages for consumption into our room and were shocked to read a corkage fee of £45 would be charged for any beverage not purchased on the premises.

When we arrived the lunch was closed due to staff sickness . We explained we’d travelled along way and could we possibly have just a light meal / sandwich. Chef said ok and we personally thanked him later on by chance outside . Breakfast was excellent from the quality of the cooked food to your liking to the service. Amount was just enough. Also manager was helpful when I couldn’t find my pin no. Patience was key and resolved the next day.

Room was chilly on entering room. Turned heating up , but bathroom still cooler.
