The White Harte has a great location overlooking the Crouch estuary, one street back from Burnham's main road. It took me about 15 minutes to walk from the rail station, and the local bus stop was a short hop away. The room I had (Room 3) was spacious and comfortable - a double bed (comfy) as well as 2 easy chairs, and a desk/dressing table. The bathroom was a little dated but fully working and clean. The breakfast choices were good, the coffee excellent. Cheery, helpful staff. A variety of eateries a short walk away.

I had an issue with people taking very loudly in the room next door late at night which was very unpleasant. I mentioned it in the morning and the staff were very sympathetic and supportive. They moved me to another room which was an upgrade at no extra cost. The room was lovely with a river view. I cannot praise the staff enough. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent (and I'm very fussy with cooked breakfast!) I love the location of this hotel. It met all my expectations. Would definitely recommend.

The room I stayed in for my first night was adequate, not exceptional, but I knew that when I made my booking. This isn't really a criticism.

Old building full of character and very atmospheric. River view which I didn't know if I'd been allocated at time of booking - a real bonus. Great central location. No music in the bar - brilliant!

Slippy bath that made showering a bit treacherous. Would've liked a rubber mat for the bath to shower more safely. Unclear who to turn to on checking out. Worked out it was the lady who did the breakfasts. Written guidance in the room would be helpful.

Everyone was very accommodating as we arrived early for a wedding. staff were friendly and helpful at all times of the day and if I am in the area again, it will be on my list to stay. Excellent value for money that included breakfast. Location is in a superb spot overlooking the estuary

I would have preferred ensuite facilities but for the price I understand.

Old hotel but very clean. Breakfast is nice. We are in room 14 shared bathroom the bathroom is modern and clean. Staff is friendly and accomodating

Lively pub underneath,marina is lively this time July /summer. Few pubs around and ice cream,fish and chips and few restaurant . Tesco express in nearby too,we had a long walk along the marina/the park .

Our room had a lovely view over the river. The evening meal was much better than the average pub food. The room (top floor) was very quirky with a sloping beamed ceiling and the strangest cupboard I have ever seen. The room was surprisingly quiet for a pub. The staff were very pleasant.

The pub has a very small car park (6 to 7 cars depending on how the cars were parked) and I was not always able to park at the hotel. There is a lot of on-street parking in B-on-C but it was very busy on the Sunday (fine weather) and I struggled to park. My room on the top floor was accessed via very steep stairs and was unsuitable for those with mobility problems. Not cheap.

Loved the staff, the location, the hotel, the ambience, the breakfast. Would happily stay again :)

We ordered a twin room on booking.com but when we spoke to the staff, this request did not get through to the hotel and we had a double bed (with seperate duvets!)

Great location, on the sea front, nicerly presented room with a newly refurbished en-suite, nice and warm, pleanty of towels good quantity of tea, coffee and milk.. Superb quality breakfast, endless coffee. car parking, good selection of ales. Nothing negative to say at all but use the address not post code on satnav.

The breakfast was superb as expected in a lovely cosy hotel by the River. Just superb and the staff very pleasant as well as the owner very accomodating. We loved the bed we slept on it was clean and it was comfortable. All in all we could not have asked for more.

The Parking.....small parking space. It was ok though as we parked by the bin but afraid that the binman would come in, early in the morning and ask us to move the car. Thankfully they did not come at an ungodly hour.

It was very clean with professional staff. Bedroom was charming. It’s not modern but it’s a lovely style nonetheless. It’s an old village building full of caractère and with lovely views of the river. It was full moon and the light over the river was beautiful. Breakfast was wonderful (full English breakfast cooked from scratch) coffee, tea, toasts, jam, juices, cereals. It served by their very friendly staff. A great experience that I would recommend.
