Crown Hotel

This is a great little hotel. We stay each year on our bike trips to Scotland. The rooms are small- we had twin rooms, but are clean and comfortable with modern bathrooms and good showers. The bar is very friendly and you can eat in the bar and the meals are very nice. We could book a table on our arrival for 9 people, which is pretty useful. The value for money is excellent- we only paid 75 pounds for a twin room. There is no cooked breakfast, but you can make your own toast and choose from cereals, yogurts and flapjack bars and muffins ! Lovely !. The serve youself breakfast is included in the price too !

What a gem of a place. Clean and comfortable with great bar food and an excellent choice of drinks behind the bar. Hadn’t realised that the continental breakfast was included with the room cost. Pleasant surprise. We were a group of disabled sailors and the staff could not have been more helpful. Every single one of them were eager to help and always with a smile. I can not rate this hotel more. Fantastic place.

We booked the superior room as we were traveling with our 18 month old and there was lots of room for him to play. It was clean, nicely decorated and super comfy bed! Also the tunnocks caramel wafers were a 10/10 extra touch and absolutely scrumptious! Staff were all lovely

Completely unavoidable stuff but the car park is a 5 minute walk away and the superior room was up 3 flights of stairs- a lot carrying a child and bags. And the road outside can be a bit noisy- however we all still got a good night's sleep. We were told on check in that check out was before 11 but we had to go hunt for someone to actually get checked out- she did say she was the only one on so maybe a staffing issue? Also room was very warm when we checked in, we had to open all the windows just to cool it down a little and the heater in the bathroom wouldnt turn off. However with the cost of gas we have been having our home on the cooler side so that could just be an us thing.

Friendly staff, nice food. Good bar with friendly locals. Comfortable rooms, very clean, with decent showers. I was travelling with a group of 4 friends on a motorcycling trip to the Highlands of Scotland. I have stayed at the crown before, and found it excellent value for money. There was a slight mix up over number of rooms booked, but this was resolved by all 5 of us getting our own room at no extra cost to if we were sharing! Excellent service. There was live music in the bar, so we ended up not going out. The Schiallion beer- hope I have got that right, is quite strong lol

No cooked breakfast, possibly due to staffing issues. Self service was satisfactory though

Fabulous find, great single room very quiet and comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean. Arrived late staff showed me to my room, and offered me a table for food straight away. Great choice of food, which came quickly and it was delicious. Staff were super helpful and friendly, great for me as a single female traveller. Continental breakfast was equally as good. I would highly recommend it a place to stay when visiting Callendar. I hope I get the chance to come back soon.

Food was a let down for us. We as a family has used the crown for years stayed over and ate. This year the food wasn't up to standard (cheap produce) the guy working in the bar was in a bad mood and his customer service skills could have been better. Spoke to chef personally & the issue eventually got resolved. All other staff polite

Great location in beautiful surroundings, with a pub downstairs and essential shops right next door and a couple blocks walk away. The staff was very friendly and the room was quiet. Continental breakfast was included and sufficient. Good shower.

The room was very small and navigating around luggage was a bit of a challenge. Bathroom lacked space to put our toiletries. Wifi didn't really work if I remember correctly.

Room was of good size and bed was really comfortable. Easy to find and off-street free parking available across Callander. We came back from a day hiking and our room was great to recover. Despite being located above a pub, there was no noise nor cooking smells. We would surely recommend to friends having a tour in the area.

Breakfast was good with some choice but the lack of cooked option made it slightly less satisfying.

Friendly helpful staff and was a nice atmosphere in the bar. Good choice for an evening meal and service quick. Room was small as single rooms often are but was big enough. Shower was excellent. Self service continental style breakfast was a very welcome extra.

Bar locked as I left so nobody to thank and leave key with so I hope they found key on the table in the reception area.
