Queen Bee & B

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Queen Bee & B in Merthyr Tydfil, and we must say it was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a sense of genuine care. Every aspect of our stay, from the impeccably designed rooms to the delicious continental breakfast and convenient location, contributed to a truly exceptional experience. The first thing that caught my attention upon entering Queen Bee & B was the cleanliness and attention to detail in the room design. The room I stayed in was immaculate, with tasteful and thoughtful decor that created a cozy and inviting ambiance. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the carefully chosen furnishings to the high-quality linens and amenities provided. It was evident that the owners took great pride in maintaining a clean and beautifully designed space for their guests. Every morning, we were treated to a fresh and delicious continental breakfast that left us energized and ready to start a new day Furthermore, the hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From offering helpful recommendations for places to visit in the area to providing personalized service, their warmth and hospitality made me feel right at home. It was evident that they genuinely cared about their guests' experience and were passionate about creating memorable stays.

When we are arrived a big happy smile from Julie saying Welcome. Told us to park our car on her back drive. Lovely easy person to talk to and was interested in our journey, showed the living room and then our room which was a “Wow” beautifully decorated and love the theme of Queen Bee with little items that reflected the Bee theme. Informed us of breakfast gave us a key explaining how to lock the door and Julie stated anything we need to knock so very hospitable.

The only criticism I would say that it would have been nice to have a full English breakfast. This is something Julie doesn’t do now. Only Continental or the Queen bee special which my partner doesn’t like poached eggs. We needed a biggish breakfast as we had a full day ahead and wouldn’t be eating until later in afternoon.

This is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. The room was beautifully decorated, luxurious and delightful. Everything from the decor, plentiful plug sockets and wonderfully bright lighting was perfect. The bathroom facilities and shower were excellent and (with proper useful sized towels) the “dressing room” area was perfect with full length and brightly lit mirrors. Julie, the hostess/owner was completely lovely. Warm, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It’s just a shame we were only staying for one night! Thoroughly recommended.

Nothing, it was all fab.

The room itself was beautiful! Very spacious and lovely furnishings. Beds were comfy. Bathroom is a bit small but still fine to use. All very clean and kept in tip top shape. Complimentary tea/coffee/milk included. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming and really made us feel at home! We loved the location as well - 10 min drive to a large tesco and only 15 min drive to the Brecon Beacons.

A small bar fridge would've been really handy in the room. We were also a bit disappointed that breakfast wasn't included with this Bed and Breakfast - £5 extra for continental or £10 for a cooked breakfast.

It was beautifully decorated, and so comfy, nothing was too much trouble for the lovely Julie who runs it!!! I honestly cannot express how lovely our stay there was!!!

The only down side for me was that the B and B was at the top of a hill, and I walk with a stick so I wasn,t getting back there unless we got a taxi!! Which I must say was only a fiver so not expensive!!! Apart from that , 10/10!!!

The owner lady is very friendly. Nothing seems to be a problem. Room was very spacious and the bed extremely soft and cosy. On the arrival you can choose if you want a breakfast or not (extra cost). Parking on the back of the building. Very happy in general and will be booking again in the future!

The house is lovely and Julie is lovely.

The double room was in fact a twin room with 2 single beds integrated at the middle. This meant me and my partner were not able to utilise a double bed and we basically slept apart in the 2 singles due to there being a large gap between the beds. The mattress’s were very soft and provided little support, albeit that being personal preference. With the decor being so pristine and and mostly white, it was not an ideal stay for hiking in Brecon in autumn.

It's a 10 out of 10 for me. There's not a single flaw even if you'd look for one. Comfortable, extremely clean, stunning design and cherry on the cake, lovely, lovely staff who’ll take care of all your needs and make sure you are happy and rested. A little diamond in the rough and would very highly recommend spending the night if you are nearby!

The room was like new and tastefully decorated. A lot of money had been spent on providing the best facilities. Very high quality bathroom fittings and very good bed. Care had been taken to ensure everything you might need had been catered for

An easy 20 minutes walk into the centre. All down hill. The steep walk back was exercising. The property was significantly better than the location but for a b and b I am not sure that matters. Unless you like hills take the car

The immaculately clean facilities; Immaculate decor, rugs, bedding, linens and all other appointments. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful.

No breakfast was offered to us at this bed-and-breakfast, which was a bit unusual. However, the price point was very reasonable.
