The room & bathroom were lovely & absolutely spotless Plenty of tea coffee hot chocolate milk water & biscuits which were replenished every day, as well as the bed being made! The food in the pub was superb-excellent value for money And finally-I left a phone & watch charger behind & after speaking to Joe on the morning shift, he very kindly posted it back to me FOC, for which I am extremely grateful 😊 I cannot recommend this hotel enough It gets 5 🌟 from us 👍 🥰

Parking is the only problem, & although you can use the Co-op Car Park which is literally about a 100 yds walk to the hotel, it costs around £12.50 a day if you don't use your car-which we didn't But this is in no way a reflection of the quality of the hotel

We had the use of an 'accessible' room, (not actually required, but it was the last room available when we booked); lots of space and a lovely wet room. It is accessed from outside the main building, through the outside seating area (including the designated undercover smoking area, which is not so good!), then through one outside door and directly ahead. Room was very clean and comfortable, although oddly there was only a bedside lamp on one side of the bed! The George is in a good location - note though that there is NO onsite parking, and the local public car parks are only free between 6pm and 8am, so you need to get up and out early to buy a ticket- you can only buy for the same day, not in advance. Breakfast in the Wetherspoons restaurant was excellent, as expected, and unlimited tea and coffee is always a huge bonus.

The room needs another bedside lamp, and preferable the smokers' area should be moved elsewhere. Parking would be an issue for the disabled.

The location is great. Being a Wetherspoon food is cheap. Room was spacious, and had a modern bathroom. Bed was massive, although it was two small doubles joined so not comfy where they meet.

They only gave us one pillow per person (so 2), I would have liked at least two more pillows and cushions for comfort when reading in bed. Lack of car park. Comments mention the convenience of having one right behind the hotel, which is true, but it's short term only so max 2 hours. There is one right next to it that is long term (I think it's called Alexandra Road, do not trust google maps, it's not correct, it's a bit further up the hill/road near coop) but it had limited spaces and pay machine was broken so I had to end up parking in the promenade parking. They let us leave our bags with them after checkout, as we wanted to spend a few more hours in town after checking out, but they do not have a proper space for it so you might not be so lucky if someone does that before you

The hotel is right in the action but we had a room that was separated from the main building in a quiet back corner which we were relived about as this is a very busy hotel being a JD Wetherspoon facility, which I had not realised when booking. The room was spotless and drink and food prices were brilliant.

I had to wait for a manager to check us in as the bar staff couldn’t or wouldn’t do it. I was presented with a printed sheet of information that was barely legible. The hotel, being a Wetherspoon pub is pretty busy so we had to wait to be served a couple of times having to stand in a “Post Office” style queue. There was also no breakfast in the rate we paid which was a surprise as I always book “breakfast included”

The location was great.thiz was very handy fir our breakfast.the room had everything you need and was nice and clean.

We struggled to park but then found car parks round the corner but had to pay.we also could leave the car in certain ones all night from 6 to 8 am but had to be their early to pay.no lie in.! We found the pub staff weren't very clear about the fire excits or staff available once the pub had Closed..the rooms were located within the pub on the first floor near the public toilets. Seemed a bit strange.no separate hotel entrance.i felt bit insecure as didn't know how to get out if a fire occurred or needed help as my husband suffered with his heart.we had to ask.

This is a good choice for Brecon.Central.Room number 5 is large and it was very quiet.Bathroom a good size, modern and clean.Bottled water and biscuits, good hot drink selection in room.Bed was comfortable. There isn't parking as it's right in the centre of town but Watton car park is less than 10 min walk away and for £8 you can pay for 24 hours.Parking is free from 6pm to 8am so I had parking from 4pm when I arrived until 8am 2 days later which I think is good value.Staff friendly.

It's a Wetherspoons which I normally avoid but this was a good one so don't let that put you off.

Lovely hotel with everything you need, rooms were clean, comfortable with a large shower and very good extras, including bottled water etc

Not the hotels fault but parking in Brecon is a nightmare!! One carpark with a stay til 6pm , then free overnight but you HAVE to go out by 8am to put a ticket on car or you get a penalty fare notice.... also the car park is quite a walk from hotel so no good for anyone with mobility issues... not the hotels fault but Powys cc who I tried to contact but they didn't answer phone..

Comfy bed, great pillows, central location.

Parking nightmare. Car park two minutes walk away, EVERY TWO HOURS to put another £2 in the meter. Apparently lots of long term parking nearby but very well hidden. Useless map on room information with no key to show long or short term locations. Car park patrolled from 8 am prompt to catch out people who did not get there in time to get up and buy a ticket. It is possible to buy a ticket to overflow to the next day to 10 am but you have to buy it after 6pm. If you buy it before the ticket extends to 7.58 pm even though that period is free ! The hotel could provide this information but choose not to.

Excellent. We only booked 1 night but everything was great, would recommend this hotel to anyone. Only thing but this is not the hotels problem the car parking (Hotel does not have one) the parking in Brecon itself was not very welcoming to the city mostly £4 for 2hours. the lunch we had was far better than the lunch we had in another hotel in the city. The breakfast was also great plenty of choice on the menu. good choice of beverages at breakfast. will certainly go back to the George. GOOD OLD WEATHERSPOONS HOSPITALITY.

AS previously stated, no carpark but the city council should look at their carpark policy. they have it right at the Cathedral £5 all day. could not find fault of hotel location was right. May be just one little thing clear the tables quicker after customers have finished their meal.

Im from the area and we sometimes stay here if my parents arrive late from travelling after work, as it makes life a bit easier. My son especially enjoys this as he can stay up late and enjoys sitting downstairs with them for food & yummy desert. As we don't see them often so it's a nice treat. Also they do a great breakfast! Great hotel & location always a favourite for my parents. Good size room. The room was clean and had a great selection of, tea, coffee, bottled water & biscuits. Lovely bathroom, shower with plenty of hot water. Nice hand-wash/shower gel. Great soundproofing didn't hear any other rooms Or downstairs "pub" noise. So this is a plus for me! Comfortable bed, nice size tv. Nice Weatherspoons below with a good menu & price. In the winter nice fire going aswel, which is welcomed. The manager on duty the start of February 2022 was fantastic with my Mum when an unexpected hike went wrong, so she was left worrying about family members. They helped my mum who is in poor health and also great with my Dad when he finally arrived back from a traumatic night near closing. Thank you :)

Only thing I can say is they need more rooms :) as they do get fully booked quickly.
