Friendly, clean and it hands down was the best cooked breakfast I have had in many years. It reminded me of my late Mum's famous breakfasts and I'm telling you that is saying something. So many places do not pay attention to how the breakfast is cooked and the result is a very moderate meal indeed. But the breakfasts I had were splendid. Hash browns that were perfectly crunchy on the outside like roast potatoes, carefully cut and cooked properly mushrooms, a beautifully poached egg, and properly cooked sausages and bacon. Oh and then there was the toast. That's how to do the toast. Gorgeous toast. I was so impressed because I travel frequently and just lament the loss of skilfully cooked breakfasts. So here was like they used to be cooked. I was so impressed that I asked for the name of the chef. She was called Mel. Please let her know she is doing it right, so right.

I was so impressed by all of it. I was a bit grumpy with the bar manager but she remained so professional and polite. The young man Tommy who runs the place impressed me immensely too. There's a bit of a buzz about the place. It feels good.

Really good size room. Both room and en-suite were lovely and well equipped. Bed very comfortable. Check in staff were welcoming and informative. The pub is a late night music venue at weekends and they advised it would be noisy from 11pm until 2am the night we stayed. We were not bothered by that but if you're looking for a quiet night then probably not for you. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Check out staff friendly and very efficient. Pub doormen really nice too. The fire alarm.went off the night we stayed but the place was emptied quickly and efficiently and once checked (there was no fire), we were taken back in with no fuss. All in all a good night's stay.

As a pub, the bar staff were a bit slow and didn't move from a spot at a corner of the very long bar. Didn't even call to us standing halfway down to make our way to them. There is no parking but the car park behind the High Street is free from 6pm to 8am - not far to walk. Pub is located at a traffic light junction so there is some traffic noise - didn't bother us but could be irritating if you are looking for a quiet night.

The hotel was in a perfect location. I thought it might be noisy as it was on the junction & set of traffic lights. We slept very well both nights . The staff where very friendly, kind and helpful.

Nothing as the staff did what ever they could for us to have a great stay. It is just a sign of the time as everywhere is under staffed and over worked. It was their responsibility to do too many jobs. Serve bar customers, book in customers staying at the hotel above. Explain the rules, express check out. Fire drill, empty bins in the room replenish tea, milk, spoons. So no complaints from us.

A pub inn run by the friendliest, most organised group of people. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable. Bathroom was just fine. The breakfast was great. A full English + veg and vgn option. The coffees were so good. All together it was well worth the price

It being a popular pub, there was a lot of noise (on Friday night) but we were well warned in writing and verbally. But somehow we sleep through it. The staff explained that eliminating sound from the rooms is an ongoing project.

Location is good. Staff were excellent as usual, due to hot room staff offered to supply us with a fan. Breakfast was amazing, a noah's ark, 2 of everything.

Room was extremely hot due to heatwave, unable to open windows fully. Rooms definitely need a/c units installed which could be used for cooling in summer and heating in winter. Being unable to open windows fully due to metal rail on window ledge, could this be a RISK to LIFE if there was a fire outside the door or in corridor as there is no other way to escape.

Excellent service, staff very polite, in the evening you can drink nice quality drinks downstairs in the bar. The rooms are simply beyond praise: clean, everything is provided, it is very nice that there are kettles and even tea with milk and cookies! They warn that it will be noisy in the evening, but a glass of another beer removed all the inconvenience. Highest rating!

Maybe someone does not like places where everyone has fun and loud music plays. But rooms are really excellent!

The room was lovely and clean, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was fab, delicious and lovely coffee and orange juice also. We were warned of noise from the bar and the late close but we were not bothered by this at all

The only thing that let our stay down was the temperature of the room, it was incredibly hot in the room and the fan in the room did little to cool it down, investing in air con would be a good shout for future summers

The location was Great. The BREAKFAST was exceptional and we complimented the chef. The room location was opposite the roadside. The shower was lively and hot and the room was very clean. Staff were very friendly. I did receive a message from the hotel regarding the DJing and what time the music finishes.

Due to the hot weather may install AIR CON . Staff did put a fan in the room but that type of fan blows out hot air. The room was very hot so I left the fan on all night. The room must have been over the DJ playing music and sounded like he was in our room.

Location close to the railway station and 5 minutes from the beach. This is a pub and I understand there is a DJ and music at weekends but we stayed midweek and it was quiet. The room was very clean, simple, but with everything you need and nothing old or worn-out like in some pub accommodation. Assistant manager, Tommy, showed us round and sorted out keys etc so we could come and go when the pub was shut. The staff were lovely, Lucy and David looked after us for breakfast which was excellent and took care of our luggage until our train at 6pm the next day. Would stay again.

Nothing, it was fine.
