Just loved the position of the The Kings Head..The restaurants we tried was all good..We have never been to Deal before . Will definitely rebook The kings head again..We intend to return before the weather really changes. would like to go for the festival week next year..Great few days.!

The only BIG problem we experienced was the parking near to the Kings head..Only 4hrs allowed. So that was a real problem to have to keep returning to the car..Plus having to set alarm to move our car before 8am!! Find a pay & display car park walk back to the Kings head..Ridiculous the parking isn't good for the guest houses .They need to address this with the local council as you are paying a fortune around £6 every 4hrs..No allday rates that guests can relax..The Kings Head said they have addressed it with the complaints they get from guests. No guest houses have parking so the council are causing problems for these guest houses. Bring in an allday ticket at a reasonable rate for visitors.

We were a group of 4 traveling around Kent on our bikes. The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff could not be more helpful, especially Will. He could not have been more accommodating. When we turned up with our bikes he quickly showed us an area we could keep them securely, he then took us back to the pub and made sure we had a drink. All the time we were there he looked after us into the evening. Well done Will, staff like this are gold dust! He will go far as he has the right attituded. Chef and house keeping in the morning were equally as friendly and helpful. Nice lively pub, in a great location with excellent food.

Nothing.

The room was clean, a good size and the staff were very friendly.

We decided to go to the pub itself for our evening meal and it was disappointing. We’d read good things but unfortunately mine and my partners meal really wasn’t anything special. He had a curry which he’d said he’d had better microwave curries and I had the fish pie which was very dry and tasteless. For a stay it is fab and I would definitely recommend. However I’d advise to try somewhere else for food.

There is absolutely nothing that I can think of that would benefit from being changed. The friendliness and cheerfulness of the staff, from reception through bar-staff, catering and the service rendered by the domestic staff, was nothing short of fantastic. I will definitely return to stay again, this time with my wife, to visit this charming town and this gem of an establishment where, when it comes to their guests' requirements, everything seems to be a pleasure, and nothing a chore. Good value at any price!!!

Nothing about my stay could ever be reported in the negative!

Friendly old fashioned pub. Staff were all very welcoming and breakfast was excellent. Good location in centre of town with views over the beach and sea. Landlord and landlady were always available and there was a lovely warm atmosphere at any time of day.

Our bedroom was on the top floor of the original pub. It was a nice spacious room with views over the sea but the climb up the stairs to it was a bit daunting at first. However, although we are in our seventies, we gradually got used to it and were no doubt fitter by the time we left after four days.

An amazing family run pub on the waterfront in Deal. Staff and local patrons so friendly. I arrived at lunchtime on a Tuesday with my parents from New Zealand. We checked into our lovely rooms and went back downstairs for lunch. Pub was full on a Tuesday lunchtime with a vibrant atmosphere and we snaffled the last table. We got talking to some lovely local people and the friendly bar staff. As the weather was rather inclement we decided to stay where we were and continued to enjoy the convivial atmosphere all afternoon and evening. Pub remained very busy, in a good way. We eventually retired to bed at midnight after another wonderful meal, many drinks and lots of chat and banter with other patrons. Breakfast in the morning was superb. Said goodbye to the wonderful staff and trundled out into the rain laughing how we had spent 22 hours in a wonderful ancient English pub.

Nothing. If you like English pubs and people, it’s an experience.

Excellent location in charming flower-adorned period property. Lovely, cosy room with sea view. Was given a twin room, although I'd booked just a single (an unexpected bonus). Scrupulously clean, modern bathroom with large shower. TV/tea-making facilities all as promised. Comfy bed. Room felt secure and safe, with little noise. Manager Russ and his team went out of their way to be helpful and to make me feel welcome. Stored my overnight bag for me while I went out walking and sight-seeing. Delicious fish and chip supper (recommended) from pub restaurant.

Nothing really. There was some early-morning disturbance from food/drink deliveries but this was anticipated, as I was staying in a busy pub with a thriving restaurant. No complaints. Very happy with my stay.

Perfectly located on the front in the centre of town - Deal really is a lovely place with some excellent individual shops. Room was great with a view across the sea and good facilities. Good selection of food and drink, with very helpful, patient and friendly staff. Staff secured my bike overnight and also facilitated a very early check out for me to catch the ferry, so big thanks to them.

I arrived in the middle of a festival - so I struggled to park anywhere close and all staff were clearly run off their feet. This isn’t a criticism of the property at all - but guests just need to be aware of any events in Deal that may lead to an issue in terms of parking.

Although the room wasn't very big it was clean, comfortable and was very satisfactory. I have difficulty climbing stairs so we were given a ground floor room with walk in shower which was perfect. It was also in a separate building adjoining the main premises which suited us as it was just the right distance away from the main outside sitting area which was always busy. The room had a sea view and on our last night we were entertained in the outside area by two groups of dancers donning bells on their clothes, flowers in their hair and brandishing batons, known as Morris dancers. Very enjoyable and a perfect way to end an evening.

We didn't realise until it was too late that all restaurants in the town stopped serving food at 8.30 pm so the first night we ate food that we took in our picnic basket in the bedroom. After that we booked for 7.00 pm. There was no parking during the day for more than 2 hours at a time so we had to keep going back to the car and moving it and pay for a further 2 hours. We managed to find a car park for 3 hours in the High Street for shopping. Overnight parking was free from 6 pm to 9 am the following morning so we parked opposite the premises. You just need to carry plenty of change if you want to stay in the village for a period of time.
