The location was very handy to Blandford Forum which was the town I was there to visit. The accommodation was 'pub' accommodation and as such, I expected it to be fairly basic. It did exceed this expectation but it wasn't on the same level of a more expensive hotel. The room was upstairs which is a little tricky with a large suitcase, but the room had space and a fridge which was a bonus. The facilities were fairly basic and a little tired. Overall, the room was better than most pubs I have stayed at but on the functional end of the spectrum. The staff were just lovely and very helpful.

The bathroom was a little tired and possible not as clean as it could have been. That being said, this is pub accommodation.

There are six bedrooms in a separate block at the back of the Inn. The three first-floor rooms (assuming they are all the same) only have a small sky-light for air. However, a fan was provided and although the room was hot, it wasn't too bad. The bed was comfortable and everything worked (well, actually the first fan didn't but the lady in the bar found me another without fuss). The shower was very good. The highlight for me by far was the menu. The choice was huge with plenty of allergy options if required. The steak pie and veg was brilliant and the local beers were all good. I was also allowed to take my motorcycle round the back of the Inn to the patio where it was more secure, being away from prying eyes. All-in-all, the staff were very helpful and friendly. I was also directed to a really nice route to walk into town via a disused railway line. It's a decent walk of about 40 minutes to the Hall and Woodhouse Brewery and if it's your thing, the brewery is worth a visit, even if only to the bar.

The weather was very hot but I won't blame the Inn.

Very friendly Welsh girl behind the bar was very helpful, cosy feel to the bar. Will definitely use it again . The room was in a separate annexe /building out the rear of the pub. Room was spacious and clean. We had a good nights sleep. Very quiet with no disturbances or traffic noise. Caters for dogs too, which would be plus in future visits for us.

Stopped cooking at 8pm we got there at 8.15pm. Which meant us going out to Find somewhere to eat. If the restaurant times are on the website I missed it. The meals of those who were eating looked very nice. We will make sure we get there a tad earlier next time. This would not stop us coming back and its not a criticism its their times. And just meant to be a heads up for other travellers wishing to eat and time may be a factor.

Well satisfied with the breakfast. The location was fine for us.

Disappointed there was no food available Sunday evening , and we weren't the only ones. Came across four other lots of people that were expecting to eat on this evening. Also noted on the previous thursday evening that staff were telling people they were full when quite a few tables were seen unoccupied. we were dining from 19.00 onwards. The waitress service on the Thursday was excellent, can't say we were as impressed with (whom we believe was the lady in charge) behind the bar.

I didn't book breakfast

There was very little information in the room regarding the facilities eg. nothing about how to turn on and use the heater. There was also an issue with the wifi connection in the room. The stated connection didn't work and when I spoke to the barman he gave me the password for a different network which did work! And then when I went to bed the disabled alarm went off and there was nothing written down about it so didnt know what it was so had to go into the pub and ask and the lady in charge had to come and indicate the button that had to be pressed. No info in the room.

Been before a good few years ago.The continental breakfast was good ,with a good choice although I hadn’t read the description for breakfast it was still very good. They did a lovely evening meal which was very reasonable.I thought the wine was a little over priced though. We both slept really well.Liked the idea of table and chairs out side of window as we were able to sit and enjoy the weather.I would definitely recommend this establishment to family and friends.

The only criticism is, on entering the room there was a musty smell where most probably been shut up for a while it could have done with a air freshener or a window left open just before we arrived.Other than that no complaints.

Nice comfortable Inn, staff helpful and friendly. Food was good in the bar, although bread and butter pudding was bit cold inside. Good ample continental breakfast hamper supplied. Outside room with easy access. Nice touch when asked for decaff coffee, quickly supplied.

Wasn't keen on the disabled bathroom, great if you needed it but quite utilitarian and shower flooded the entire floor. Not a fan of coloured bedding, prefer white linen. Mattress was a bit creaky and hard.

I love that this inn is dog friendly and the back garden where the rooms are is enclosed so you can let them roam free. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was good. I did check in after 10pm, and they made alternative arrangements for me when I contacted them.

There was nothing that I didn't like. The staff were polite and helpful. I did almost slip on the decking, but that's my clumsy fault. ...................................................................

This is a beautiful little pub with great accomodation. We travelled with 3 adults and 1 child for one night stay. It has everything you need. The rooms are spacious and include a mini fridge which is handy. We had a continental breakfast which had more than enough choice and they were even able to accommodate a gluten free breakfast. We had an evening meal in the pub which was lovely. Would recommend and stay again.

Lovely little inn with basic amenities (clean and comfortable) attached to a pub. Good food, good drafts, and friendly patrons made us feel welcome!

The staff all leave at night and couldn't be reached when the neighborhood's generator shut down. Not a big deal excepting the emergency lights came on in the rooms at 3am and couldn't be shut off.
