Location was great. Room was a good size at the very top. Cleaners were on it. The bar was a great size with friendly people. Staff were helpful. The cleaners filled our tea, milk and sugar up everyday. Which is awesome as I'm a tea freak!

I always moan about this, but the cup sizes in the rooms are too small. We went out and bought our own mugs for tea and coffee. The doors slam like hell so early in the morning you are woken up and late at nite. Alot of noise regarding movement from people. Other guest and cleaners. No shower gel which sucks having to buy some when aldi sells it for cheap as chips. This should be a standard product available. And I found it odd that you couldn't get a breakfast, even a light breakfast with cereals, fruit and yoghurts, when they had a restaurant for evening food. Having to get up and out to find somewhere was a challenge some days as not every breakfast place was good.

Perfect bolt-hole in the middle of town. Great cafe across the road 'Sails' which did an excellent breakfast from 7am. Restaurants, shops, harbour front and Red Jet terminal very close. Room very clean, stayed for two nights and room was serviced every day. Chest of drawers, full-length mirror in room. Plenty of hot water for shower. Bands playing in pub Friday and Saturday evening. Bottled water, cups, tea & coffee sachets provided with kettle. TV. Separate access to accommodation through side door was really useful. Easy check-in.

Lack of hanging space. No bedside tables. Empty fittings by sink and shower for soap dispensers a bit pointless and got in the way a bit. Room's quite small which is to be expected in an old town pub. No view - frosted glass in window made it a bit claustrophobic but probably best solution to preserve privacy as courtyard at back of pub was directly under window. Noisy until early hours but you wouldn't stay here for a relaxing, peaceful break anyway.

The staff is fantastic. Raffaele, Karen, Joe and the lady at the bar (I didn’t get her name) did their best to help in a timely manner when I mentioned that I had a problem with my WiFi in my room, by giving me another room as soon as it was available. The linen and towels are so white and bright! I will put extra vanish in my laundry from today on. Karen is the kindest person ever. The location is great: close to shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and cafés, As well as the red jet.

it was a bit noisy early in the morning as school Kids were queueing up next door before the opening of the shop to get some snacks before school.

An excellent situated little gem! Food was excellent, a superb selection of pumps and selection of spirits. We were shown promptly around our room, after booking, a couple of people were unable to join us for the trip and staff were more than fantastic at giving us half re-imbursement through Booking.com upon arrival. Very ambient, but bustling atmosphere with a great selection of tunes in the background. Very happy 😊😊😊

Caught my little toe on the wooden boxing that stuck out from the skirting board quite badly🥲 luckily I could soak it throughout the day in the sea....to help heal it.

Room only. Good sized room but no wardrobe or hanging rail. Nice crisp sheets. Cooler than expected in heatwave which was nice Bathroom good apart from slightly annoying nowhere to hang damp towels and nowhere to place shower gel/shampoo in the shower Slightly random no room service after 1st night but clean towels and tea mug after second night - only there three nights! Overall very happy 😃

See above re Hanging rail/wardrobe Towel rail space for more than one damp towel Small shelf for shower gel in the shower Not clear whether room would be serviced Perhaps a little extravagant to give us clean towels after only two nights? (Being mindful of water usage to wash) Did have a bath mat for first two nights but didn’t for last night

The location was great, perfect for spending time in West Cowes. Unfortunately in some ways, the band at the Anchor Inn that night was excellent so we didn't explore much. The room was clean and the beds very comfy. Although the pub was still open when we went to bed, we weren't disturbed by any noise. The room was warm and cosy. The towels were clean and big and fluffy. Shower was hot and nice. The people running things were super nice and we were happy with our choice . Would definitely stay there again. All in all a great stay.

Didn't have breakfast option. But that was fine. Local cafes were excellent. The room was splendid. Clean and the twin beds were in different sections of the room. There was bedding for 4 people ( a single sofa bed was also in the room). And we were two. The bathroom was spacious and the whole room was well decorated and modern. And this was appreciated in a hotel which is 400 years old! The bar downstairs was buzzing -- but we were fine with any noise which filtered up and slept very well in the comfy beds.

They could have provided shampoo and shower gel. Also, I forgot to ask for the wifi code, so maybe they could offer that when you check in. The TV wasn't great either. But none of this was important to us and could have been resolved if we had stayed more than one night.

Location, room light and airy, ease of check in, it’s in a pub but has its own separate entrance as I was staying solo and working on my laptop for a while it was nice to hear a friendly buzz from the street below (it wasn’t loud just pleasant background) plenty of milk cartons

noise in the morning from just before 6am of the Sainsburys delivery van delivering goods for an hour just a little further along the road. This is something outside of the control of The Anchor though so it is not a criticism of them.

For the low price compared with other accommodation in the area, I did not have very high expectations for my stay, but I was pleasantly surprised. My single room was spacious and clean, with what appeared to be a recently refurbished en-suite shower/toilet area. Furnishings were simple but adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful, and made arrangements to store my luggage safely for early arrival and late departure before and after check in/out. The Anchor is located in the pedestrianised High Street of Cowes, just a short walk from the RedJet Terminal for the fast ferry to Southampton.

No breakfast provided (but this was made clear at the time of booking). Don't bother opening the window to see the view - it's just a rather messy back yard.

The location is good, close to the ferry terminal and handy for shopping, restaurants, sightseeing etc. A short walk to the chain ferry to East Cowes. The room was comfortable and equipped with everything needed for an overnight stay. It was quiet, in spite of the pub downstairs.
