The Hawick Hotel was very handy for the centre of town. Our room was quite large with two double beds and an en-suite shower room. The facilities were a little dated and could do with upgrading but were perfectly satisfactory for our needs. Breakfast was ample with a fair choice of cereals, fruit juice and a full cooked breakfast on a serve yourself buffet. There is free parking on site.

On our arrival there were a number of large dogs belonging to the hotel allowed to roam free. Not a problem to me but could easily be an issue if you were not an animal lover or had small children with you.

Beautiful place. The room was gorgeous.. I was like wow! When I seen it. The hosts were so friendly and did everything to make me feel welcome. The lady who served breakfast (sorry did not catch the name)went above and beyond to ensure everything was satisfactory, lovely person.

No complaints whatsoever

The staff / owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Welcoming of the dogs which was great as not many people.are .

The only issue we had was that the main light in the bedroom wasn't working, but I pointed it out, and they were going to look into it. Also, when we arrived, no one was around , so we had to wait a while to check in. Their was a bell to ring, but I don't think it worked as we pressed it a few times and didn't hear it. I also called the number a few times with no reply. I think the current owners have only just taken over so just a few minor things to change but overall it was great

Large comfy room , great location lovely greeting when we arrived , room was clean and would stay there again if in hawick

They just need to sort breakfast , plenty cereal to chose from , maybe if its a couple move to making fresh breakfast as hot plate had next to nothing on it , took ages for anyone to come out and we had to ask for stuff to be made buffet style is ok for the workmen at that time , young girl needs some training , messy tables left from other guests and she picked a potato scone off hot plate with her fingers and ate it but if nobody is showing her she won't know , it really is just attention to the breakfast but the stuff we had was nice enough , coffee was weak though

The hotel is in a prime position for the centre of Hawick, (which in any case is not a noisy town) adn there is parking behind the hotel. Right from check-in the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and when I discovered I had left my makeup bag at the last place I had stayed, a young member of the staff even offered to let me use some of hers, but since the big Morrisons supermarket is almost next door, I was able to replenish the items I was missing. The beds were really comfortable. My partner had a massive Scottish breakfast and for the price we paid (including the breakfast), we considered it really good value.

There was a slightly long wait (but not excessive) for breakfast but quite a few people were there at the same time.

Staff very friendly, good location and parking

No bath towels in the room, this should have been part of the pre let inspection and when I highlighted it to a member of staff she said she would get me the towels and I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to put them in my room which I wasn't impressed with as I was on my way out. The correct protocol should have been I'm sorry and I'll get the towels to your room. Breakfast on the Sunday morning had no regular cereal ie cornflakes and had nut based and Alpen type cereal and when I asked staff she said that was all they had. The orange juice had ran out and I had to ask for it to be topped up, surely the member of staff should have noticed this and replenished it accordingly and when the juice arrived I had to request glasses to put the said juice in.

The staff at this hotel were very lovely and helpful and made our anniversary extra special. It had free-parking and is situated right by Hawick high street, comfy stay for one night en route to the highlands!

We had a nice stay here, unfortunately there was an issue with the kitchen which meant breakfast couldn't be provided but the staff offered to refund us for getting breakfast from the Wetherspoons across the road - however dogs weren't allowed in there so we had to wander around for a bit until eventually having to get a takeaway breakfast from somewhere due to nowhere being dog friendly! Other than that we had a very nice time!

This was a quaint facility with a location a block from Downtown and Cafes. Staff was the best I've ever see in a hotel or B&B. Staff provided info on local castles and arranged a cab for us. Hotel is an older historic hotel which in itself was very interesting. US visitors would like this facuity very much. B&B is borders southern region of Scotland with much Scotish History. Area was beautiful with sheep pastures, ancient rock fences, and ancient runs. Location is in mountains so dress warm in mornings and nights. Still more positives but I won't bore you with them. We loved staying at the Elm House Hotel! The two owners are incredible and authentic in their warm welcome and throughout our whole stay. The room was lovely, large in size with high standards of cleanliness. We were gratefully helped with directions around Hawick and given great local recommendations. My mum and I can’t stop praising the Elm House for their breakfast, I am coeliac and I was given every trust that how the meal was prepared and sourced was gluten free and the ingredients were such high quality. We’d like to thank the owners for our stay and we hope to visit you both again in the future.

What a lovely hotel! I received an extremely warm welcome into a tastefully decorated and immaculately cared for establishment. My room exceeded all expectations, was spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable and warm. The proprietor and staff are very friendly and helpful, being happy to chat, offering advice & information about local amenities. Breakfast is exceptional, offering just about anything you could ask for, and is delicious. The bacon is gorgeous. I whole heartedly recommend this splendid hotel which is ideally located and has a private car park too. I'm already planning another visit.
