Having traveled in various countries and seen numerous hotels, motels and B&B's, then Kirklands B&B near Melrose would simply stick with head and shoulders above them. Our stay there was simply superb. Not only there is a great house and comfortable rooms, but the breakfast is just great, both the Scottish full one as well as the Continental version. Also, if the Sun is out and the temperature is good, have a stroll in the enormous garden where you can fins several spots to read a book, or just enjoy the sunshine itself.

Negatives? None to report, even when using a looking glass.

A delightful period property in a tranquil location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Friendly, welcoming & helpful hosts. Beautiful room with a very comfy, cosy bed! Good choices for breakfast, freshly prepared with homegrown produce, absolutely delicious! We had a absoloutely wonderful stay & would thoroughly reccomend.

Our host greeted us on arrival. The breakfast was delicious, it incuded fruit picked on the day. The appointment and decoration of the house is exceptional.

The location is so close to Melrose without being in town. The host, Douglas provided fantastic local information and recommendations for dinner. The breakfast was amazing and wonderful value for money.

We missed the property in the dark driving to it, so a sign at the end of the road as we turned would have been helpful.

Beautiful and quiet place, very friendly host, excellent breakfast, tidy and cosy room, spacious bathroom, lovely surroundings, close to many sights (by car) and lovely Melrose.

Beautiful location set in lovely garden with mature trees. Near to Melrose which is a very pretty small town with lots to do and see, and there are plenty of facilities for dining in the surrounding area. Excellent breakfast. Attentive and welcoming host. Would highly recommend. We would like to return for another break.

Very comfortable first-floor bedroom with large adjoining private bathroom in a splendid, handsomely furnished 18th-century house in quiet countryside just north of St Boswell's. Tremendous views out on the huge, tree-framed lawns surrounding the house. Friendly, helpful welcome by the proprietor. Good cooked breakfasts in the house's handsome dining room.

Ideal location in a gorgeous setting with easy access to all amenities in Melrose and surroundings. Great walks. Lovely spacious room, and large separate bathroom. Pretty views. A very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious. First course - A cocktail of home grown fruit with Greek style yoghurt topped with home produced honey. A quiet situation and felt safe there. We would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend it.

The shower was a lovely power shower. Though I found trying to use shampoo and soaps while facing outwards required some juggling. The spa bath after a long hill walk made up for it later. Otherwise noting really that I could say I disliked.

We were made very welcome, nothing too much trouble. Douglas went way above and beyond what he needed to for us.

Lovely house in a nice quiet location but handy for visitor attractions. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we have had while away and our host was local born and bred so had a good knowledge of the area.
