Kings Arms Hotel

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff and cozy bedroom perfect for a one night stay. The bed was so comfy it felt like sleeping on a cloud! There was a small music event happening in the beer garden which was fun to attend after we came back from dinner. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the veggie sausages!

Only thing was it was really difficult to get the loo roll out so we ended up having to force open the top of the container so we could use it.

Staff team great, helpful, friendly a credit to the Kings Arms. Food good, and the cask ales were also good, this hasn't always been the case in the past, so I was delighted. At the improvements. As always the room was comfortable and d clean.

Nothing to dislike be really, bar closes at 10.00pm on a Sunday, 😞 and the price of the rooms is creeping up, but it's still great value. I actually prefer staying here to Burt's etc. Much friendlier and more informal.

Staff are excellent, very helpful and friendly. Lovely room, very comfortable. Restaurant very good and caters well for various dietary requirements.

The position of the bedrooms alongside the beer garden. Its' normal for this to be open in the summer until about 1am at weekends, and it is noisy till then outside the room windows, so you are unlikely to get to sleep until that clears at 1am. After that, it's fine. Given that, I felt the room price was a little steep.

Excellent location in the heart of Melrose. Amazing friendly local staff, always smiling, helpful and flexible. The hotel is dog friendly, so it was great vacation for our dog. Good breakfast and restaurant facility for the day. The room is cleaned with complementary coffee and tea sachets at check-in.

The hotel does not offer room service, so you have to manage your own room’s cleanliness until check-out.

The room was.spotless and the towels were fluffy and immaculate.. The shower was ace and loads of room in it...

We were in a room that had a ceiling that basically went from basic height when entering to extremely small so when you were getting into bed you hit your head off the ceiling and im 5 feet 3- so even sitting in bed you had to crouch- it went in a slant - really disappointed cos we did not book a standard room and we looked on to the side of the pub..and the window.in the room was tiny - not a hotel there was no lounge to sit and chill in and and at breakfast we were not offered toast..didnt get shown the juice, cereal etc had to look and find that for ourselves - left hungry... not impressed at all....

Being a very old coaching inn, our room was very much on the slant but that added to the charm. We also had quite an old original sash window which rather let in the draught but we put the bath mat across the draughty spot and were perfectly warm enough in November. We appreciated the complimentary carafe of sherry. Our room was small but modern and very clean. The king size bed was comfortable with lovely bed linen and we had snow white towels. The bar was lively in the evening and although we didn't have an evening meal there were plenty of people enjoying food and the open fire was blazing. In the morning we enjoyed a good (and huge) scottish breakfast. Very good, friendly service throughout. Our two dogs were made most welcome. Melrose is lovely.

Heating could gave been more efficient, but it was fine as they had left a v good electric heater to supplement it.

our first stay at the weekend and it wont be the last.what a fabulous hotel.the staff sharon,gary and paul were so helpful and so friendly they couldnt do enough for us.oh and thankyou for introducing me to cocktails haha.the food is exceptional.the breakfast was the best we have had .it was warm homily a pleasure to spend time there.we will certainly be returning there soon.

there was nothing to complain about at all

The hotel is under new ownership, the owners are hands on, friendly and try so hard to please. The bunch of young staff they employ are such fun, helpful and tolerant. Really nice busy hotel with a great location, nice atmosphere and value for money.

There could be a bit more attention to cleaning- stair carpet grubby and handrail sticky. I also have a mask thing - if guests have to wear them I think the hotel staff should - please cover your nose and don’t pull them down to speak to us !!! Very limited vegetables offered with the food or as a side. If you enjoy carbs and protein the menu is heaven 😉

Excellent Full Scottish. Stornoway Black Pudding & Haggis. Very friendly staff.

No fruit juice was offered/available - just tea or filter coffee - and no alternative to 4 options of individual cereal packets - none of them muesli. No fresh fruit and no toast was offered, though there was a basket of mini-jams and marmalades on the counter.

Very friendly staff and the food was delicious. Very central location.

Two very small things. The hot water tap sqeeked every time you turned it on. The decor was tastefully done but some of paintwork needed touched up, especially the inside of our bathroom door, apart from that it was excellent. Will definitely recommend.
