The breakfast was sumptuous, with lots of variety and plenty to eat. The staff were very attentive, classy and well educated and appeared to take an interest in people. The outdoor infinity pool was wonderfully hot and the nearby hot tub and sauna were good too. During our stay the weather was better than you could expect so it was a pleasant experience using these outdoor spa facilities.

There is nothing wrong with this place. However dining in was a bit pricey which led us to look elsewhere for our evening meals. To qualify that remark, the cost of dining in was probably what you would expect for a 5 star hotel.

Beautiful setting, immaculate and wonderful spa experience including an excellent hot stone massage. Friendly, helpful staff. Compfy beds and good breakfast.

Limited knowledge from staff in the whiskey bar which was disappointing. Some of the pricing on the Charlie's bar menu is massively overpriced e.g. £28 for a basic burger! Also, there were young children in the spa pool during the day when it clearly states on the website that under 16s are not allowed. When you want a relaxing spa day it's not what you expect.

Great room, clean, spacious and comfortable The hotel has a nice architecture / internal design Spa is great: very nice pool outside, with jacuzzi / saunas. Gym area has everything needed and is open 24/7 The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I recommend to do some activities at the country club. We spent an afternoon doing fishing and shooting which was really good fun. The restaurant is really great, vary tasty food and smooth service. Really amazing stay!!

One minor point maybe - it would be great if the hotel staff could help book taxis to get to the hotel when asked over the phone. The team was very helpful in booking taxis during my stay but believe this effort should be extended before arrival, considering the hotel location

The Breakfast was food was fine. However the location of the Serveries were disjointed. The English Breakfast from the servery only included Scrambled Egg - ordering fried eggs took too long meaning the Food from the Servery was cold

One Restaurant Staff for Dinner on the first night needed instructions in Customer Service. We were told in rather an abrupt manner that we could not change the Table allocated for the 4 of us even though the Table next to use was not booked or had any Dinners all evening On the Second night the Staff were more accommodating regarding our seating arrangements. For the first two nights the Staff were not trained in how to serve Wine. On the Third night the Wine was served correctly. Our friend did now want the Duvet in their Bedroom - only a Blanket and Sheet It took 2 of the 3 nights to get it how the requested.

This was our second stay at Schloss Roxburghe and we are already planning our return. The addition of the excellent spa and gym facilities has significantly enhanced our stay. The staff are all really nice people who genuinely want to make your stay comfortable and trouble-free. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The food in Charlie's was presented nicely and tasted wonderful.

The breakfast service was a bit disorganised. Nobody seemed to notice when items were running out or even completely finished. The Courtyard Rooms can be a bit noisy if you leave a window open, especially early in the morning. Charlie's could do with a few more main courses on the menu.

Great facilities and staff member left a 40th birthday message in the room which was a nice personal touch!

1 member of staff was rude and unhelpful when checking out. No name badge but female. Said she was a supervisor. Would not allow the 2nd half of the stay to be paid from credit card already used to book the trip! Very embarrassing and frustrating as this was booked as a birthday gift so my family ended up having to use the birthday couples debit card as I was not there in person. It was made clear on booking that this was a 40th birthday gift and I wanted all accomodation costs from my credit card 😡

This was an excellent experience , Alex who checked us in ,gave us a short guided tour of the Hotel on our way to our room and she kindly transported our cases to the room . This Hotel lives up to its 5 star billing , the room was lovely and even has underfloor heating in the bathroom . Huge walk in shower with expensive toiletries. Food was excellent and staff are so nice and have obviously been well trained. Each day In the afternoon we got a knock at our door and a lovely couple were there with a Trolley asking if we would like more waters , tea or coffee or biscuits. I thought this was a lovely touch by the Hotel management .

Absolutely nothing can be faulted in this Hotel .

Clean and well laid out with a mixture of old and new which worked well and had a feeling of something special. Plenty of staff which right now is a positive as many places struggle to get staff. Facilities were lovely and all working well. Charlie’s Restaurant and meal were lovely.

Work going on in the grounds meant some walks on the estate were closed or restricted for H&S reasons. Not a major issue as the estate offered plenty of other options. A net curtain or blind to the bedroom would’ve allowed some light in whilst keeping privacy rather than having to shut the curtains and using the lights. Also more enviro friendly.

The hotel was amazing!! The history, the cleanliness, the staff, the room and of course the food. Me and my partner came for his 40th birthday and i cannot fault the place. We were welcomed late at night as we had been at a festival. Our room was lovely and BIG!! What a view in the morning! All staff were lovely and attentive. Our breakfast was such a huge range of choice and all hot options were delicious. The spa was amazing and so relaxing! Again all staff lovely and helpful. Dinner was delicious!!. My partner said it was the best steak he'd ever had it was like butter you could cut it with the back of your knife. Pudding was my favourite highly reccomend lemon possett! All in all our stay was fantastic We will be back!!!

Brilliant stay. Staff were really helpful and polite, and the hotel is spotless, lovely grounds and gardens. The spa is very nice - underwater music in the pool is a very clever touch! Food was excellent, ate in Charlies "Bistronomy" restaurant in the evening. Breakfast was excellent - also served in Charlies. Couldn't have asked for more. Huge selection of options. Full Scottish breakfast, other menu items available. Breads, pastries, cereals, fruits, salad, meats.

2 very minor gripes. Kids in the spa made it difficult to relax sometimes, but this was limited to short windows and the staff were very good at keeping this in hand. There was also a guest in the restaurant who had a dog with them. It was behaved, but I don't feel like animals should be present in a food setting, certainly not a formal one like this.
