All staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was ideally located and had plenty of parking.

There were highly visible signs that indicated the terrace closed at 11pm. However, on our 2nd night, there were a group of 4 who stayed on the terrace until 1.30 to 2am who were very loud and had no respect for other residents.

The hotel was lovely, they accommodated my well behaved dog, adding a water and food bowl to my room for her. The bed was super comfy, the shower great and facillities good. They allowed me to eat breakfast in the bar area (the breakfast room is out of bounds for dogs, as expected) and the full English was tasty and a great standard. The buffet element had all you expect and was very nice too. I don't have caffeine and they had decaff coffee and decaff pods for the Nespresso machine in the room. The machine did have a leak on the water tank and in reporting they were right on it and made a note to change it. There was complimentary mineral water in the room.

My only suggested improvements would be a plug socket to charge your phone near the bed. It would be easier to have a mirror to dry your hair near the plug socket or a longer flex on the hairdryer so you can use the bathroom mirror more easily.

We were greeted with a complimentary room upgrade and the reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Our bed was super comfy, and the room was nice and spacious. The shower was great, really good water pressure, and complimentary bottles of wine were well received! Breakfast the next day was lovely.

In the morning we had a congregation of staff sat on a step outside our room door talking really loudly for a really long time which disturbed us, and which continued even after I had stepped out to find out what the noise was all about. Left us with the impression they wanted to get us up and out so they could start cleaning our room and leave early.

Steeped in history, old beams and creaky floor boards. Room was minimal decorated with bare wooden floorboards, comfortable king size bed and spacious ensuite bathroom, with soaps ,shampoos and piping hot water. The room we had was in the main hotel inn at the front facing the main road, which due to double glazing kept noise levels to a minimum.

When we entered the room it was incredibly warm, the heating was on, but the radiator was on its lowest setting. We didn't want to open the window as we were near the main road, due to traffic noise so bizarrely we turned the air con on, which thankfully cooled the room down.

Breakfast was excellent and quickly served

The large bedroom was not up to standard. Although it was warm and the bed was comfortable, other facilities were sadly lacking; Poor lighting, small mirror over a very small table with no lighting available. Bedside tables were tiny, resembling a milking stool and power points were difficult to access with very few available. The en-suite had no heating. The large shower cubicle had nowhere to place towels and there was no shelf for toiletries. We had to ask for more toilet rolls which staff replaced immediately. Overall, the room needs modernising

Staff very welcoming and upgraded us to a Deluxe room which was an unexpected treat, thank you. Room was spacious with comfy bed, refreshments inc coffee machine and bottled water, and good bathroom with large walk in shower. Breakfast good quality. Also ate at Hawkyns restaurant and loved that.

Unfortunately there was someone below us, presumably in the bar, who was setting the world to rights in a loud voice until about 0030. Our room faced the High St and traffic was noisy from 0630, so we had a short sleep! (So light sleepers should request a rear room and one not over bar). Breakfast room chilly - even waitress was wearing her coat! Wish they'd lit the log fire, as although 2 of 3 radiators were on, they were ineffectual as it was a cold snap outside. Not an issue for us but room prob not ideal if staying more than a couple of nights as not much scope to unpack - just some hooks and hangers on wall, no wardrobe.

Have stayed here before . Staff friendly especially the guy at reception. This was a very very last minute booking and we got the last room in the main building so knew what to expect ( uneven floors , lots of stairs etc) . The room was ground floor right on the street so there was some traffic noise but again we knew that and it didnt bother us as it was New years eve !! . Ate in the restaurant... as per usual fantastic food. Tried an Indian shiraz red with the pigeon and lamb dish .... excellent. Breakfast good. Liked the large wardrobe . Free car park

Very very slight drain smell in en suite. Hot water took awhile to come through but its a very very old building

Very comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast. The room could have done with a rug on the floor to deaden the noise as all the bedrooms had floorboards. There was little sound insulation from the other guests exiting their rooms in the morning but probably to be expected in an old building. I expect staying in the rooms outside the main building would be quieter. We were travelling on to Heathrow Airport which was an easy 30 minutes away. We'd definitely stay again as the room was great value for money and Old Amersham is charming.

A few rugs and cushions to soften the "nordic minimalism" and deaden the noise. I suspect the soft furnishings were removed during Covid and never made it back to the rooms.

The room was in the block behind the main building. It was modern and very clean. Mattresses were firm and felt new. Breakfast was lovely with lots of options and a friendly welcome from Korina who couldn't do enough for us. Dan, the night porter was also very friendly and helpful. The indian meal taken in the restaurant in the evening was outstanding, the food was delicious and well cooked, and the waiting staff were accommodating and informative.

Room fob was a horse brass with the room number on a small sticker on the back. We handed our keys in on the first night before going into London, on our return the reception desk couldn't find our key so gave us a spare. The key was never found for the duration of our 2 night stay. To avoid this happening again, the key fobs for the rooms should be reconsidered to something much clearer.

The room was clean, bed was comfy and breakfast was excellent, the staff were lovely. We arrived much earlier than expected and the receptionist was very accommodating, as our room wasn't yet ready he was able to quickly change it to one that was ready and allowed us to check in early - this was very much appreciated as it allowed us to relax while getting ready for the wedding we were staying for and took a lot of stress out of the day! Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

The only issue we had was that the room was very warm, but we were able to make adjustments and this wasn't a huge problem.
