It was in a perfect place near everything and it was clean and bright, modern furnishings but still keeping the quaintness of the property. The bedrooms were really comfortable had everything you needed. Kettle with tea and a coffee machine, hairdryer plenty of sockets for things. The bathroom was clean and modern loved the shower nice and big perfect. The staff were really really helpful and lovely very friendly and always smiling. To be fair can’t really pick one as they were all perfect so helpful, from the reception to the bar staff and the waitress in the restaurant, everyone gave perfect service. The food in the restaurant in the evening was amazing so good and tasty and it’s such a cosy restaurant. The breakfast was good plenty of food and a nice large pot of tea and coffee happy days. Anyway can’t fault this hotel at all will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Extremely helpful and flexible staff. Particularly in making sure my breakfast coffee was strong enough! Good breakfast. Had vegetarian options and a good mixture of hot and cold options. Also helpful in providing coffee and even breakfast on one occasion for family coming to visit. There was a real feeling of welcome and willingness to make the stay enjoyable and memorable. There was no feeling that I was just there for the money! Room service provided at no extra charge. Food was good quality and price reasonable given the state of the nation. Room was very comfortable and good facilities.

The shower was broken and wouldn't stay at the height set. The shower extension on the bath wasn't up to scratch either and so showering was difficult! There were chips in the tiles at the far end of the bath. The window security catch was broken,

Wedding at the hotel - all good ! Breakfast of good quality - just slow !

We did warn them that there would be about 10 for breakfast at 9am before hand - but they did seem to be completly swamped with that and it took nearly an hour for my cooked breakfast to arrive. Very nice when it did though. We were in room 1, which has a shower with a separate head and a big head above. the shower machanism could have done with a little mainenance as it was quite stiff to operate at first - and the hand held shower head was jammed behind the upright and I couldnt remove it - no biggy really - but a holder for the hand held head would have been useful. It did lok like the shower had been retiled recently - maybe it was work in progress. The tap for the sink was also loose - completely loose - so you had to hold the spout to be able to turn it on - worked though.

Really lovely old style hotel. Had a problem when I arrived, had to switch rooms to another hotel for one night, handled very well, and gave lovely rooms. 1st night room was lovely, realky quiet, very comfortable. but a little musty. Opening the window helped. Second night in the Crown Hotel, room was lovely, got a comp. Half bottle of wine, nice touch. Back to Kings arms next night for rest of week, got a suite this time, was lovely, and comfortable and also got a comp. Half wine on first day. Bit noisy with a boiler starting around 6 a.m.. Staff were so nice, very pleasant to talk to and very helpful. Breakfast was absolutely beautiful. Great choice.. would def come back here again as its so central in the old town. Hill walk to new town, Fab. Walks everywhere and everyone so pleasant and polite.

Rooms are lovely but be prepared that they are dark due to the age of the hotel. Would have been nice to replemish the bottle of water and given more shower gel and toilet paper . As we were out all day after breakfast we didnt meet the upstairs staff to ask. Couldnt fault anything else. Would recommend .

Great location, looked the part . Showed its character and age.

Unfortunately, its age also reflects some of its issues. Room 10 has a massive step up into the room just inside the door. Some warning sign or notice either visual or verbally given rather than open the door and immediately fall up the step. Not a great health and safety start. The ceiling light fittings full of dirt and debris . Our breakfast a full English arrived cold, poached eggs cold sausage cold baked beans cold mushrooms cold bacon cold. This was replaced when issue was raised which I must praise everything then arrived freshly cooked. One person running the breakfast service and front desk at the same time , ok it was boxing day but the staffing should have been better. Report overall good but needs to improve on the finer detail to get full marks.

Location was great in the village Amersham. The hotel was quirky and the staff very friendly. Our room (6) was cosy but could have used some tlc (furniture, sockets, upholstery) and isn’t ideal for mobility impaired guests due to steps within the 2 levels of the room and the narrowness (well it’s heritage and original :)), otherwise a great experience and a lovely reminder of the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. The breakfast was also delicious and served quickly. A shoutout to the helpful reception staff, bar staff and a very funny dining manager (who used to be in Starlight Express in Germany!).

See above. Room style great (we especially asked for a heritage room), but difficult to get cases in. Be prepared for narrow stairs and corridors and creeky floorboards.

The location excellent, the staff friendly and attentive, the rooms was lovely and the food great. The pub is very nice and has a cosy vibe.

The room was frigid cold when I arrived, and the heating did not provide much warmth. The bathroom was very well heated however. The bathroom could have been cleaner, nothing was horrible but a few stray hairs and streaks in the sink and shower wouldn't have taken much to clear.

It is a beautiful old pub hotel, the features are still amazing, very friendly atmisphere. The staff were happy and friendly and it was value for money. Will definitely be going back.

We had breakfast included and I would strongly recommend to anyone, do not have fried eggs, no yoke in, as they were completely dried out. I did mention this when checking out. Also, we went to the bar at 10.35pm and told last orders had been called. This is a Friday night and not even 11pm! Did not expect this when staying at the hotel.

Excellent selection of breakfast. Both hot and cold available cooked freshly to order. The bar was well stocked, friendly and cosy. The staff were polite and friendly. Due administration errors on a previous stay I needed to make contact with the hotel administration team. I have found them all to be helpful and efficient. In particular Andy went out of his way to be helpful and very quickly resolved the minor issue. Thanks Andy.

Perhaps a longer breakfast time availability midweek.
