The attention to detail is amazing. I have stayed in many hotels and I have never seen so many nice touches in the bedroom and adjacent toilet, which was bespoke to my room, not to mention the rest of the pub. The extra touches are amazing. Simple things, instead of the usual few shower gel/soap sachets, the Kings Arms has proper dispensers in the shower for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. And where other places just shove a few tea bags and coffee sachets on a dish, you'll find a proper wooden box for them here. Not to mention a coffee machine as well! Ashley and Jill are the perfect hosts, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The pub itself is pretty simple, that's not a critism, it's just what you need sometimes. The location is right on the main square in Holsworthy and I was lucky to catch some of the annual festival which was an added bonus. There is parking, but I'm not sure about timings, it's pretty irrelevant because there is a big public carpark only a 5 minute walk away, which is what I used. Full English breakfast in the morning which was lovely. All in all, a lovely stay for one night, and I think I may have just found another little bolt hole for myself! I'd love to share some photos, but my Chromebook is determined not to let me!

Well unless it's me, I couldn't seem to find any wifi. Other than that, I'm really struggling to find a negative to staying here.

The Kings Arms Hotel is a very nice comfortable place to stay and the proprietors, Ashley and Jill, are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and the 'Kings Arms Sausage' made by a local butcher, was very good. We would gladly stay there again when visiting this area.

Nothing at all, it was very good and great value for money.

We had a 2 night stay at The King’s Arms as part of our staycation exploring Devon and Cornwall and what a gem of a place it is. Firstly the hosts Ashley and Jill were very warm and welcoming throughout our staying and made sure we had everything we needed and was to our satisfaction. For the price we paid we weren’t expecting The Ritz but the rooms and pub were spotlessly clean and Jill cooked a full cooked breakfast every morning which was excellent and set us up for the day. The bathroom was small but quite frankly did what it needed to do and we found the twin room spacious enough for our needs. There is currently a limited food menu but basket meals are available which are also of very good quality and very reasonably priced. Holsworthy itself has a selection of takeaways and other pubs if you wanted to eat elsewhere as well as a Co-op and a number of independent shops, but the village is perfectly placed for exploring south Devon and north Cornwall. We would highly recommend The King’s Arms, but expect to be warmly welcomed by Jill and Ashley and made to feel like a member of the local community.

Nothing - all was spot on

I was welcomed by Jill who was friendly, helpful and keen to make my stay as comfortable as possible. This was a business trip and I stayed in room 3, a twin with ensuite, tea/coffee makings and a TV. I arrived on a Sunday evening and so the pub was closed for food but Jill pointed out the local takeaways and made recommendations about the best ones.

Breakfast was offered after 8.30, which was too late for me, it would be better from 7/7.30

We visited on the first day the Covid restrictions were lifted, this was a new experience for us all. Reception was friendly and house rules were explained, they were easy to follow and if a reminder was necessary it was quiet and good natured. Breakfast was served to the table and was good quality. We were aware prior to arriving that there was no food service beyond breakfast but residents were allowed to buy from local takeaways and bring the food back to the hotel.

In view of the restrictions/precautions it would be unfair to comment on any aspects of the management. Daily room cleaning was restricted by the Covid precautions but it was not a show stopper.

Location was fab. Only half an hour from Bude. We liked it as you could have a drink after a day of exploring. Central to the little town. Not a lot to do in the town due to covid restrictions but the inn was very welcoming and we had a bit of fun with the owners. They had a big tv so my husband could watch football. The room itself had everything we needed and more besides. There were only two of us and we'd booked the family room as it was the only room available. There was a double bed, single bed, and a travel cot so fab if you have a young family. There were crisp white sheets and bed was super comfy. You couldn't hear noise from the bar at all. The breakfast was brilliant. All in all, a great place to stay and it's got a nice vibe.

No need for all the cushions and throws in the room.
