EVERYTHING. We couldn’t recommend this place enough! Definitely worth the travel from Cornwall. We initially thought the place is too far from Cornwall but everything in this place is just so worth it. The place is so clean, peaceful and not to mention the best hosts ever! From the time we checked in up to the time we leave - we feel like we’ve been taken care of like real families. During our first night, we decided to prepare our own dinner and we were able to get all the stuff that we need. We’ve also had the best time in the play area. This place is just so perfect for a family getaway. We will definitely come back soon - for a staycation this time! PS. Their breakfast is one of the best! Definitely must try!

Good breakfast but you pay extra for cooked meals and coffee machine drinks. Very friendly and helpful owner who was very welcoming. Plenty of spacing for parking and a barn with some games for children. This is a dog friendly B&B with it's own field to exercise & toilet dogs

No shower in our room - the bath had a shower attachment but no screen or curtain so we had to kneel to shower - but plenty of hot water. Nice rooms & breakfast area with a great attention to detail. We noticed but the bed frame was dirty but only when we were making up the bed and the mattress moved!

You get such a warm and friendly welcome at Barton Gate Farm, the family can’t do enough to help and meet every need. The beds were so soft and comfortable, and the shower very powerful. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Paula’s full breakfast was so good, you should definitely get one! Loved that there was a dedicated dog exercise field on-site and that our dog was given a treat at each breakfast time!

Only one thing that I didn’t like and that was the doors that connected our room to rooms either side of us. Obviously they were safely locked but it did mean that you could hear the conversations of our neighbouring guests. We were fortunate that they were very quiet, but if you got a loud speaking person or a noisy or crying child it would have been an issue.

Was lovely quiet nice and green area around. I really like the host she looked after us nicely and made sure we had everything what we needed.

A bit of smell of mold in our room ( but was super clean and very comfy beds and room service was done every day. We were excited about gaming room as had everything what we like to play, pool table etc...( especially my 7 year old son was happy)but was very smelly of mold and dirty inside and that was the only think we really disliked.

The continental breakfast was adequate to keep you going but a little bit uninspiring. Cannot fault the quantity or service though. The Hostess was lovely and friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was immaculate.

Paying for a dog in addition to the original cost as when we but our search into sykes it was specified as including a dog. I do not object to paying extra if the dog does some damage or leaves a mess of any kind but when a dog as as clean if not cleaner than some humans it seems unfair .

Comfy beds, shower, tea and coffee facilities including a nice bottle for tap water and shortbread biccys (always a bonus)

The lovely shower, a wet room type, my only problem was the "water stop area" it went over and crept in the main room, towels used to mop up

There is nothing more i can say about Barton gate farm than WOW!!!! Julian and Paula made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much to ask, they both went way above and beyond to accommodate all of us. upon arriving later than expected with a very sleepy 3 year old after a 5 hour drive, being too late and too tired to pop out for dinner, without a thought Paula put on a huge BBQ and welcomed us to eat with her family as if we were part of the furniture. the hospitality continued throughout the week with more above and beyond service, recommendations of where to visit, where to eat, the best beaches and hidden tourist attractions. my little boy became almost a surrogate grandson with Paula making fancy hot chocolates every morning and night, and Julian ushering him to feed the animals every morning. The breakfasts were unreal! all local fresh ingredients cooked to perfection and Paula's GUT BUSTER! really lives up to its name. The room was so lovely, very tastefully decorated and it really felt like a small slice of home, every day we would come back to fresh towels, clean linen, and a spotless room, Paula even set up my little boys teddy's in a different way every day just to make him smile. Toilet and shower were perfect and being a plumber i am always very particular about these. The bad reviews left about Barton gate are rubbish! and if you stay im sure Paula will explain (its a funny story) We do not usually holiday in the UK but after staying at Barton Gate farm we have decided as long as its open we will return every year it really did turn 2020 from a crappy to perfect! STAY AT BARTON GATE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!!
