The Kingstown was easy to find, which always helps! The staff welcomed me, and offered help with my two bags along the long corridors to room 21, but I decided to go it alone. 21 is a nice big room, actually a double for my single use, so a huge bed and a proper bathroom with shower and bath. Plenty of shelf space; a big Samsung TV with great picture quality (pity about the programmes, but we cannot blame the hotel!); kettle, cups, tea coffee; tourist information; emergency telephone number. Excellent Full English Breakfast in the Hungry Horse restaurant, where the staff were friendly and helpful, and seemed to be enjoying their work (you can always tell).

Here I have to scrape around for some small negative feature. let me think. Oh yes, the toilet seat was loose in my bathroom. I should have reported this, but didn't, so it cannot have bothered me too much. The big complicated tap over the small washbasin made face-washing and shaving difficult, but such taps are everywhere now. I suppose I could comment about those long corridors with many fire doors, but one-storey buildings have advantages, too. No stairs, no lifts. Safer in a fire. Emergency exits never far away. (Hang on, I'm supposed to be looking for negatives, which are hard to find.) I loved the breakfasts, but did not fancy the evening menu. I have met those long lists of freezer-to-microwave dishes before. A limited choice, but freshly cooked, is always better.

Good sized car park. Friendly efficient reception staff. Good location. Plenty of power sockets.

Felt that the lighting was poor on one side of the bed. You had to have the main lights on in order for the coffee area lamp to work. Damaged window. Unable to turn off heat in shower room. Dirty marks on towel.

The location to the ferry port was very close. And to the centre of shops was good also. Was great there was a restaurant/bar attached . Room was very big/spacious. Liked the fact there was also a vending machine for snacks during the night. Beds were very comfy also. Staff at reception and in restaurant/bar very friendly. We're from South Wales and even the patrons in restaurant were very friendly and chatty. Lovely atmosphere throughout our 2 day stay. Would definitely stay here again x

The kettle was too big to fit under sink properly to fill so kept filling cups to pour into it. Not a big deal though. No safe in the room which would have been handy to store iPad during our 2 day stay. Would also be beneficial to holiday maker's from the Netherlands to store their passports should they stay there. That's just my personal opinion. Couldn't fault anything else.

The hotel was about 6 miles to the east of Hull City FC, a good location for a post match wind down before the long drive back to London the following morning.

Not a criticism as such, the pub/restaurant attached to the hotel, stopped serving food at 8.15pm, the bar closed at 9.30pm… We were told this was only because it was January, and normal service would be resumed in February. Made perfect sense, as there were only 3 couples in the restaurant, including us at 9pm… in comparison to the last time we stayed here, when the Hotel & restaurant was a bustling hive of happy customers, that was the summer of 2019, low and behold, it was before Brexit & Covid ruined the country.!!! The food we in ordered was fine, the beer was as good as any beer, and the staff just friendly decent people.

Lovely place, extremely helpful and friendly staff. I had a slight issue but it was sorted straight away by the night porter with no fuss. Bed was excellent and comfy, and room was perfect. Breakfast was nice, quite a few hot and cold options of food and drink which was nice. Location was also spot on, although I know everyone's needs are different, however for me it was perfect.

The only criticisms I have are the fact that the room was a little dated and needed a little money throwing at it. Such as, the window catch was broken/wobbly. The shaving light in the bathroom didn't work. The pull chord for the bathroom light was grubby. There were markes in the bath. The walls had holes In from where there used to be things screwed to the wall. Etc. Its just minor things such as those. There was nothing wrong with the room or facilities, everything worked and was clean, it's just they were well used and needed some care to bring them up to date.

Very friendly staff, at the reception desk and housekeeping. Gave us extra duvets and pillows when requested. Great to have the pub right next door to the hotel, it was very convenient and cheap and nice food. Good location to Hull, only 15 min drive. Plenty of parking and it’s free.

My dad was using the sofa bed and said it was uncomfortable ie springs sticking out. On the second night he requested an extra duvet to put on it and he said that helped. Room and building pretty dated but no issues with that, it didn’t affect our stay.

Staff were very helpful when I called in advance to book an extra night. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. There was plenty of hot water and the shower was easy to work. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced. Our rooms were cleaned well for the second night and the hot drinks tray replenished.

Although free Wi-Fi was offered, none of us four managed to get connected during our stay, which was inconvenient and annoying. The extractor fan in the bathroom was not working, although this didn’t bother us. The carpets throughout the public areas were dirty and the whole decor looked a bit tired.

Staff were excellent and couldn't be more helpful. The bedroom was a very good size and the bed excellent. We had a late arrival time which was accommodated and a dinner reservation was made for us on arrival. Food excellent value.

Bathroom door didn't fit properly and it felt like a lottery to see if we could get it open again (room 9). Tables in restaurant sticky. Table lamps in bedroom not very bright. Pointless putting them on.

The hotel was convenient for travelling to Spurn Point, it was good value for the money we paid, it was clean and functional and the food was excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and efficient.

The television in the room didn't work properly, the Rugby World cup that we wanted to watch was impossible as the picture constantly broke up and only BBC1 and 2 was available every other channel said there wasn't any source, after a day walking it would have nice to have been able to relax and watch some TV.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, large bed. Bathroom and TV. The pub was connected to the restaurant and for the price it was perfect

The hotel was noisy, not the hotels fault as it was guests walking about causing the noise. But we could hear the snoring from the room next door. The hotel could also do with some general maintenance, leaking radiator in the corridor and large cracks in the plaster in our room. But these don't affect your stay or comfort.
