Black Bull Inn

Peaceful rural location. Owner and staff very friendly and accommodating. The room's are separate from the venue and the one I stayed in was like home from home. Rain shower in the en suite was a bonus. I can't comment on the shared bathroom as I didn't need to use it. Restaurant and garden all very nicely designed and set out. Big tv, pool table and darts boards in the bar area. Ideal location if you are away for business on the port.

This is by no means any fault of the venue and totally understandable collateral damage from the pandemic but no breakfast option at present. No doubt will return soon.

A great place to stay and Stephen the owner is one of the few remaining Gentlemen left. Extremely helpful throughout, very good with contact prior to my arrival, allowed me to leave a case before my check in time so I could go out explore the local area. The pub and restaurant is very nicely decorated, the menu is impressive and the food as equally good. The room, was clean, tidy, had fresh bedding and towels, good wi-fi / internet access, the bed was comfy and warm. I met Stephen's mother who was very nice, helpful and even cooked us a joint lunch which I was stunned was free and sociable as we all sat and ate together. I found their hospitality and charm really nice and I can't rate them or their pub/restaraunt/room/service highly enough. I would definitely stay here again and would advise anyone visiting the area to look no further as you won't find a better place or nicer hosts.

The owner of the property (Steve) was very nice. He is a very experienced and knowledgeable man. He gave us BF free of charge and we had a nice chat during our breakfast. He was very sweet he shared all his adventurous stories/family stories with us and he even ate the breakfast with us. He was very accommodating for children.

Village Inn with friendly staff, convivial atmosphere, made to feel as welcome as a local in the bar/dining area. Accommodation is in another building either adjacent or across the street from the main inn, which is not an issue for me

only issue was no soap in en suite. not an insurmountable problem as I had my own shower gel

Lovely bar area, very friendly staff and customers. Evening meal was basic but great value. The breakfast was probably THE best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel.

All in all a great value stay. I was only there one night and the only gripe I could come up with, is the lack of shower gel/soaps in the rooms.

The only thing to improve would be to add soap and shower gel in the bathroom and restock the coffee sachets although Steven did make me a lovely coffee in the morning

The owner proved to be an outstanding host. Very friendly and highly informative. Attached to a local pub in an beautiful rural area - peaceful and relaxing. I will definitely stay again, when I am next in the area.

We had a great stay at the Black Bull. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to help us. The cooked breakfast was really good too, plenty of food, served quickly and piping hot. Ensuite bedrooms were spacious and well equipped. We would definitely recommend and would stay again.

I was arriving late after the food was being served, the lady made sure the chef put something aside for me to eat later , and everyone was very friendly

Great property situated not too far from my work destinations. The owner and staff treated they guess his family.
