Absolutely fantastic value for money, accomodation excellent quality for the price, good central locations, nice rooftop garden, Wetherpoons downstairs for food and drink, first time staying at a Spoons hotel and was very impressed.

The arrival/ check in procedure needs some reconsideration. It wasn't clear when you arrived, where the entrance to the hotel reception was. Ended up having to wait at the bar to ask someone and they directed us to a doorway up some steps where people were dining, which had a lift up to the hotel reception. There needs to be better signage for the hotel entrance on the exterior where people need to go who are booking in to stay.

Just a 2 minute walk from the train/bus station just cross over the road in the front of the station then turn right walk 1 block and the hotel is in front of you. The hotel is above the Witherspoon pub take the lift up 1 floor and you report to reception if you arrive before the 2pm check in you can sit on the roof garden and eat and drink direct to your table. A good size room with A/C a kettle to make hot drinks free bottle of water and a large TV and bathroom with shower. Breakfast downstairs will cost you around £5 and coffee and tea with free refills is less then £2.

If you open the window in your room you Will smell smoke from everyone smoking in front of the pub

The fact they had a lovely shower, bed was amazing, price for it as well the price we got it for like wow I'm very impressed the options on what drinks u wanted the hair dryer the space we had it was like luxury it was the best we been to and we will defo be going again.

So the only thing I could find that I didn't like was the fact that in the shower on the ceiling it was dirty it wasnt the worst but it wasn't a nice sight to see especially when I've just woke up and want to take a shower I think that's the only thing that needs to be kept an eye on is the top of the shower ceiling that's the only thing everything else perfect! Can't fault you for anything else

Conveniently located, close to Hull's transport hub and with the city's main attractions only a short walk away. I had a family room all to myself, which was spacious and had a nice desk, without being overly expensive. The staff are nice and friendly. The ensuite bathroom was sensibly set up and clean. No traffic noise - presumably because of the double glazing. Windows open if you want to let the fresh air in; the aircon worked well.

The free WiFi is an unsecured network, which is a nuisance for travellers who might well need to make a secure connection (e.g. for banking). I would've liked some blankets in the cupboard, as I always get too hot with a duvet. For breakfast you're just directed to their commercial cafe/restaurant/bar on the ground floor, which didn't appeal to me.

Central location for all amenities about 30 minute walk to the football ground and 5 minute walk to the Bonus Arena....Quick and faultless check in ...rooms lovely ,clean and warm ....we found it very quiet for saying its attached to the pub ,they do have a huge beer garden which maybe a little noisy if your room overlooks it in summer as we had windows that opened up onto it but luckily for us the weather wasn't good enough to sit outside so can't comment on that.....carpark was a 5 minute walk away just around the corner we saw at least 4 so that was good....staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble.....we would definitely stay here again.

Our only gripe was ,it's a very popular pub so finding a table to eat at night was virtually impossible if you wanted to eat there, breakfast was a different matter as it was very relaxed from 7am till about 10am.

Easy to book in staff were friendly, room was clean and tidy, as was the food both evening and breakfast meals were of good value. We had the opportunity to arrive a day early we tried all forms of communications but to no avail and finished paying over £130 to stay at another Hotel for the extra night. I had even tried ringing the Hotel direct and there was no answer a voice message said "that they would call back" never received that call the only disappointment to our stay.

More information example someone manning the phone or even if only to say phone will be manned between certain hours. If a voice message is left follow it up.

Good location. Very comfortable beds and the shower was great. Plenty of space to hang clothing up. Tea facilities in the room. Great blackout curtains too.

Other guests were quite loud in the corridors and doors could be heard. Only one key card given so if one person went out of the room, the TV/lights would go off as they needed the card to get back through the security doors. Also, the door to get to the hotel was easily blocked by people using the pub downstairs - we had to ask a few times for people to move so we could get to the door.

We liked everything about the hotel. We were a bit worried when we arrived and had to walk through the bar/pub/restaurant, but this turned out to be one of the best parts of our experience at the Hotel. The food and drinks at the pub (which was also part of the property) were amazing! We were there for my wife's graduation ceremony from the University of Hull and I am glad we stayed at the Admiral of the Humber Wetherspoon. It's almost easy to not know what this property can offer. The room was very comfortable and I could sleep in the bathroom if I had to LOL.

The outdoor bar was closed for repairs (not the hotel's fault! as repairs are a must right?) during our stay. The cold in Hull might not have allowed us to make the best use of this bar/garden, though we did do some night strolls from the hotel during our stay. We also could spend only 2 nights - this hurt the most, as we had to head back to London. Hmmm... also we couldn't order food for the room, but hey! the restaurant was just downstairs... I am sure there is a reason for this policy, but people do get really tired at times and just want to eat, drink, and shutdown in the room? Just saying...

This was my second time staying at the Admiral of the Humber and I was just as impressed as my last visit. Really modern, clean rooms. So many positives , iron and ironing board provided in the room. Rainfall style shower. Complimentary bottles of water and a good range of hot drink options (I love the additional sachets of oatmilk, a great touch that i've not even seen in 4* premium hotels). Nice service at reception desk and express checkout option too if you're in a hurry. I think the beds are very comfortable too.

I couldn't work out how to turn on the heated towel rail in the bathroom but this is just a minor issue. If I had raised this with reception staff I'm sure they would have been happy to help.

Seriously, it may not look like much from the outside (brutalist four-storey), but the rooms are superb. Clean, with aircon and large comfy double bed. The windows open as well, should you prefer that to AC. Good lighting, with bedside / reading lights too. You feel secure - all doors connecting to the hotel floors are keyed entry and yet you are only a ten-minute walk from Queen Victoria square. Staff were attentive and kind - I changed a feather for synthetic pillow with no problems. Corridors and rooms are clean as you like. Will use again and I am about to book for another week.

Nothing at all.
