Fielding Hotel

excellent location staff very friendly and can store luggage before and after check in/out

unfortunately we picked the hotel with air conditioning as an essential requirement as it was summer but in our room it wasn’t working. there were already fans in the room so looks like a known problem. Fans helped but room was very warm and uncomfortable. Also kettle not working which we found out in morning, too late for staff to get replacement. would have been reasonable for a discount to be offered

Location and room really good.

The room itself was exactly what you would want, but there was absolutely nothing else! No foyer, just a reception desk in a tiny room off the corridor, no bar, no communal sitting area and no food or drink on offer, apart from tea and coffee facilities in your room. Obviously there are plenty of eating and drinking options close to the hotel, but for the price you pay, I would expect more facilities available at the hotel.

The location was absolutely amazing! Literally everything around you that you need! Staff were so friendly and so helpful with literally everything we asked for or needed help with! We stayed in a Queen room with 2 small children and it was absolutely perfect! Thank you so much we will definitely be back to stay again!

Absolutely loved my stay! Very clean, lovely large room for London. Three of us in total. We had 1 room (with a queen bed) and a separate area that was separated by a door where the sofa bed was. Which was perfect for privacy and people snoring. There were two toilets, one in the room and in the separate area. Which was so handy. Plenty of storage. Loved the shower and the pressure of the water. Location is amazing. Staff were fab as well.

You have to be careful in the bathroom, there are areas which are low and you can hit your head. It is labelled but my poor dad hit his head quite hard. We were in the basement area so there were no windows.

Room was at the top of the building and it was up 3 flights of stairs.

The location is fantastic, right in the middle of Covent Garden and so close to restaurants, bars, theatres etc. The staff were brilliant and so helpful. Before we arrived they provided lots of info on how to get there on the tube etc, we don’t know London very well so that made life so much easier. The welcome was lovely, very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous. It was great to have a separate bedroom to the lounge where the other bed was as we were travelling with our little one so she had her own space.

There were no glasses so we had red wine in coffee cups! Obviously not a big deal but glasses would be a nice addition. Would also expect a small fridge to be in the room, although there were tea and coffee facilities so that was good.

The location is perfect, we could walk within minutes to coffee, bars, stores, theater shows, supermarket and tube station. The 24x7 staff was extra helpful, kind and amazing, the service was exceptional - they kept cleaning the room daily and refilling soap, shampoo, drinking water bottles, coffee, milk and snacks, they even provided a refrigerator to the room for my request and it was very handful, they even had EU power adapters to sell in a much cheaper price than on the stores nearby. There isn't a safe in the room, but the staff helped us by storing our things safely in lockers every day. The room is well designed with an authentic london style. We enjoyed our stay far behind our exceptations.

We stayed on the first floor and there was a little noise from the street, but it stopped in about midnight and it wouldn't bother us to sleep. The large bed was not comfortable, very very soft, I almost felt the springs, I didn't sleep so well because of it. The carpet is clean but need to be renewed, it has old noticable stains that couldn't be removed, it is time to renew it. I recommend to take lower levels floors because there is no elevator.

Very friendly front of house. Perfect location for the Royal Opera House. Room was on the small side at first glance, but it was fine for what we needed and the design made good use of the space. A bit on the noisy side, but given the location it wasn't too surprising. The room was heated well. But there was nowhere in the shower to place your shampoo and gel. It would be a small matter to put a small shelf in there. Also, if the flush on the toilet has been shortened to save water, it was a pointless exercise as it takes four flushes to make one regular flush. No one should have to flush a toilet four times. The room could also do with a DO NOT DISTURB sign and a DO NOT MAKE UP THE ROOM sign so no one has to knock on the door at 11 am. Most hotel rooms of this class would have this for everyone's convenience. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone and we'll be back.

Nowhere to put shower gel and shampoo in the shower. The poor flush on the toilet. The lack of a do not disturb/do not make up the room sign.

Our room was lovely, with the sleeping area nicely separated from the bathroom. Free bottled water and biscuits were welcome snacks. Elena, at the front of house, was always gracious and welcoming. Unfortunately at the very end of our stay we had a horrible experience with a fraudulent taxi driver. Elena was on duty at that time and she was sympathetic, responsive and did all she could to help us report the problem.

The curtains were a bit shabby and there was no way to tie them back. Not all of the lights worked (and the switches weren't intuitive - which switch for which light) but they did come in to fix a couple of them. The mattresses were a bit springy and could do with a refresh.

I went to London to do a Cambridge exam and Hotel Fielding was close to the school, 4 minutes on foot, so it was perfect. Besides it was in Covent Garden where there are restaurants for every taste and shops. There's also a museum of the Police close to the hotel for people who are interested in Museums. Another point of interest is the Royal Opera House. Besides the staff was friendly and helpful, they booked me the taxi for the airport and they knock to my room the day that I had to leave, because I had to leave very early in the morning.

The hotel is in a pedestrian area so taxis can't park opposite the hotel so the taxi driver should have explained me better the position of the hotel because it kept me a while to find it. So I recommend this hotel but be careful when you arrive there, watch on the two sides: right and left, because if the taxi stops opposite the restaurant " La Ballerina" you'll find the hotel on your right if the taxi stops on the other side you'll find the restaurant on your left, but you'll have to walk for a few seconds.
