Great location, very clean and well run hotel. Reception staff are a credit to hotel. Coffees better than nearby chain coffee shops & reasonably priced.

Thumping music from nearby nightclub. Reception were aware of issue, but have been unable to resolve with management of the club. Only affects a few rooms (222 in my case) that back onto club. Offered to change room (not taken as no guarantee would be quieter) & gave complimentary late checkout & free coffees. 2nd night club was much quieter & room very quiet. Room was very hot & a/c struggled to cool down.

The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. I have stayed in many hotels in my life and some of them the sheet smell was overwhelming but this was really pleasant surprise especially when the room was so small everything was well balanced.

The walls should be repainted room after room in the future because some of the places from white wall you can see those black marks which makes you feel like you are in a dirty room. Also I would suggest if you would like to fit in the same budget, you should take a hot chocolate out ( because hot chocolate that is very rarely you can see in any hotel) and add individual cookies to enjoy for people with their tea or coffee which would make more kind of sense.

it’s a very pretty hotel. the breakfast was $8.50 and they offered a build your own yogurt bar and croissants that were pretty tasty! the location was great and a 10ish minute walk to the British Museum and some great restaurants like Shakespeares Head. for the most part, we enjoyed our stay here and the staff was very friendly.

the rooms were quite small and it was difficult to move around as three people. we often had to take turns in different spots of the room. the bathrooms are frosted glass but basically see-through. from the top bunk you can see right into the bathroom which was a little strange. we made it work as family, but I wouldn’t stay there with people I am uncomfortable with seeing my body shape in! for people who rely on elevators, you can’t really take an elevator anywhere without having to do some steps, but with some elevators it’s only 3 steps. no conditioner was provided.

Rooms are very small - just wide enough to fit the bed - that is it. But the rooms are clean and modern, and cheap compared to other hotels. Staff not only friendly, but went above and beyond. Location is easy 10 minute walk to British Museum on direction, and 10 Minute walk to Covent Garden the other direction (and the street you walk down to get to Covent Garden is a really nice shopping street full of shops and restaurants. It is really close to the Holburn metro station - easily walkable even with luggage. It is also on the same block as the (free) Freemasons Museum (history) a smaller museum easy to overlook but worth a visit and incredibly convenient. There is a large park and another small but nice museum hidden behind the buildings directly across the street. Also note - Google maps may show the entrance on the wrong side of the building - it is on the main street (Kingsway), not the side street (Wild Court). The entrance to the hotel is small and easy to miss - it is right next to Las Iguanas restaurant.

The breakfast is VERY basic - mainly some bread and croissants and porridge. You are much better off going across the street to Paul (French Boulangerie Chain with real French Croissants and pastries) or across the street and up a bit to the Shakespeare's Head Pub for a full English breakfast for less than the cost of the hotel breakfast. There is also a Starbucks, Costa, Burger King, Pret a Manger, Greggs, Las Iguanas, and a couple other restaurants within a 1 minute walk. There are easily 20 restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

Always a pleasure to stay at Z Hotel. The rooms are clean, staff are pleasant. The building is secure and lots of options for food and drinks nearby. The location is great for access to Holborn Underground and buses. Free coffee/tea/bottled water.

Having to pay extra for a room with a window. I understand it's London and this isn't the staff's fault, but it's really not ideal. You aren't typically in your room much - only a small complaint.

The location of the property is just excellent. With just 15 min walk, you reach Leicester square. In just 3 min walking distance is the holborn undergound which takes you to Marble Arch in just 10 mins or you can take the piccadily line and go to Trafalgar square in just as short a time. Holborn itself has plenty of cafes and restaurants. The staff were very kind and all washroom amenities were available. Just 3 min walking distance from Royal College of Surgeons so good if you have work there like I did.

Many other reviews pointed this out too but one needs to understand that the rooms are very very small. The width of the bed is the width of the ENTIRE ROOM and the washroom is very small too. There was not enough space to open a medium sized luggage. I found the room small, even though I was a solo traveller and these rooms are definitely not for 2 people. Though if price is reasonable, then I suppose you could tolerate it? Or better yet spend your day outside.

I really love this Z Hotel. I've actually stayed there three times. The location is really good. The hotel is clean and pleasant. The staff are always lovely. The wifi is excellent. As long as you understand that the rooms are small, then you absolutely get what you pay for. The beds are comfortable. There are lots of power points. You get water and a range of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The showers are really nice. It's generally a lovely compact place to use as a base for a trip to London. I really appreciate the hanging wall because there's no wardrobe.

Because the room is small, it might be helpful to have a couple of extra shelves or a deeper underbed alcove. For people concerned about single use items, you do get a new soap bar and shower gel everyday when the soap bar isn't probably necessary. As someone sensitive to light pollution, it's worth knowing that there are quite a lot of screens and standby lights as well as bleed from the corridor even though the blackout blinds are excellent. I'd recommend an eye mask.

Well situated, about a 25 minute walk from Euston, in pretty much a straight line (one road) - obviously taxis available at station. On arrival, staff politely explained facilities, what was on offer (breakfast, etc). On departure, happy to hold suitcase all day (free) while I spent time in London, then picked up later in evening. Room was very good.. modern, clean and very nice bed and shower. Some reviews have said "room was smaller than expected".. it is smaller than some hotel rooms but Z Hotel site/photos clearly show that and that's a key reason why cheaper than others of comparable quality.. but still has a Queen bed, a big TV (with free SKY!), a good shower and tea/coffee making facilities. A good idea is a compartment under the bed to fit a suitcase in. One issue for some will be the lack of a cupboard, there is a wall mounted hanging space with five metal hooks and wooden hangars - fine for me as travelling alone so hung up shirts and trousers and rest folded on stool at bedside (there are also shelves in the bathroom area that can be used). If you want a large room and/or wardrobes, this isn't for you. If you want modern, neat rooms with all the REAL necessities covered and don't need loads of space... and well located... and for a great price, these are a bargain. (* there were other rooms in the hotel with more space also, I haven't seen/used them). I'll use Z Hotels every time I have to go to London. Oh, and their pizzas are nice too.

For the facilities and price (compares to 7 or 8 other London hotels I've stayed in).. nothing.

The hotel was in a very central location and close to many groceries, shops, and the Holborn underground. It was very clean, and the decorating of each room was modern and sleek! Really didn’t need it to be any more than that.

The bathroom in the room was designed a bit strangely. The glass was opaque enough to hide most details, but you could definitely see the silhouette of the person inside with uncomfortable clarity. There was also no real sound barrier, so you could also hear whatever bodily functions occurred within the bathroom from outside with uncomfortable clarity too. Not a big issue, but could be a bit awkward.

The staff were really kind (I went to write an exam the next day and requested the quietest room, and they definitely delivered on that!) and the facilities were really clean! Breakfast and food in the lounge looked phenomenal. They had umbrellas for guest at the lobby, as well. Overall really considerate and kind (and the staff who checked me in wished me good luck on the exam, which I thought was really sweet)! Super easy to get to Holborn station, location is amazing with lots of amenities nearby.

There was a bit of meandering to find certain rooms (including stairs in addition to elevators) and my room also had stairs to get to the bed (loft-style). I personally found this really nice but I also fractured my foot a few weeks earlier so the timing wasn’t great haha. If your reservation has guests who have trouble with stairs, I would definitely put in a special request! Staff is great so I’m sure they would accommodate :) I also booked a room with windows but unfortunately there weren’t any windows with my bed (windows were frosted and very small, couldn’t see any views) but since I specifically requested the quietest room, I have no complaints!
