Holiday Inn Express Southwark, an IHG Hotel

Breakfast was beyond our expectations - fresh croissants and muffins served every morning with really good ham, eggs and beans and even fresh fruit. The staff was utmost friendly and took a great care that there was always everything available and clean. The first day we arrived in the morning to the hotel as our flight was an early one. The receptionist has offered to keep our luggage in the hotel and offered us a coffee and tea. Which really made our day as we were so tired! The location is perfect, couple of minutes from the river, you can easily walk to Buckingham Palace or Westminster. Other hotels are in this area as well.

Comfortable, clean room and bathroom. Room was spacious even with queen bed and sofa bed. Staff are friendly and helpful. Fantastic location - Tower of London, Tower bridge, London eye, Waterloo train station, London Bridge train station are a 20 min walk away. Southwark tube station and Thames Clipper pier are a 10 min walk away. Tate Modern is just across the road, as well as a Co-op store, Amazon Fresh, Wagamama and several other eateries.

Breakfast buffet could be better. Not much for choice. Missed having variety in eggs. Expected to see vegetables and hash browns, but not available.

Lovely one night stay ( next time, will stay more nights), all staff, friendly and helpful. Staff on reception really helpful and informative. Really nice that are room was ready so much earlier than expected, able to leave our luggage at the hotel while we continued exploring London before our train departure home the following evening. Reception staff called for a taxi to the train station, it arrived within a couple of minutes. Just, overall great service from the beginning of our stay until the end. Surprisingly quiet hotel, even though a maiin road right at the front of the hotel.

We had a small issue with our door card keys, didn’t work!

My husband and I loved everything. From check-in to checkout the process was quick and seamless. The hotel was clean and our room was quiet and comfortable with a nice street view. A full hot complimentary breakfast was provided each morning and the members of staff were very helpful especially with getting taxis and giving food recommendations. We especially loved "Honest Burger" which was not to far away by foot for a quick bite. The Hotel is within walking distance to lots of food options as well as approx. 15 mins walk to the London Bridge and Borough Market. There was also a big Marks & Spencer for shopping just across the bridge. This was our first trip to London and we enjoyed it. We would definitely stay here again when back in London.

Exceptional location with lots of supermarkets, restaurants and shops nearby. Borough market is also like 5 minutes away. Room was good and clean. nothing out of the ordinary. Also, room service came every day and made sure everything looked good.

Breakfast was a mood killer for me. I wish they had more fruit or veggies available. For someone who doesn't like to eat super greasy or extra sugary, it was hard to find something to enjoy. Otherwise, no complaints.

I came to London, because my daughter is seriously ill and had to have major surgery at Guys St Thomas Hospital, about a 7 minute drive away, but every day i moved the car, i would pay a charge, so i. Gotvto the hotel about 5 hrs early due to hospital visiting, although i couldn't book in, until time and the room being ready at 2 pm, the staff allowed me to leave the car in the car park, and arranged a taxi for me to the hospital, after a long day i got back to a warm welcome clean/ spotless room and a very comfy bed, the following morng, after a delicious breakfast, i had to return to the hospital, but had to book out first, again due to charges etc i didnt want to move the car, until it was time to return to south wales later that evening, the staff were very understanding and most accommodating, and happy allowed the use of their car park with no charge, a place i will return to, and would highly recommend.

Everything was perfect

Breakfast ( included) was great, but the self Service Buffet area was rather cramped and at peak times it was hard to access all the choice without sticking your elbows out and being a bit pushy!! Maybe a third coffee machine located away from the queue would be good. The room and bathroom were very spacious. Well appointed with ironing board, iron and hairdryer. Great location for Globe etc

I had a bath and I wasn't too sure that it had been cleaned from last time, as I felt a "tide mark" around the side of the tub.

The hotel was in a good location, quite close to Southwark tube station, Blackfriars Bridge, Tate Modern & St. Paul's. Room compact, but had everything we needed. The bathroom was modern, great shower and had good lighting. The buffet breakfast offered an excellent choice of hot and cold options, with good bacon and coffee. Good that we were able to store our luggage for a couple of hours after check-out, so we were able to do a few more hours of sightseeing.

Not sure if all rooms are the same, but if you're used to a King-size bed, the double beds are quite narrow (perhaps 140cm across). Check-in was very slow. Staff on reception are very friendly and polite, but everything went at a snail's pace. Not a drama, but there is room for improvement.

Clean hotel, nice staff. Breakfast normal hotel fine but nothing amazing. Location for London very good 5min walk from tube 10mins away from Waterloo etc rooms nice 2 adults one child is fine but not loads of room but only there to sleep. Underground parking extra charge

Parking entrance etc very tight so need to be careful entering and exiting. Mini fidge be good, more glasses needed for breakfast as they were hot from being washed so warmed up your cold drink. Minor things really

Very clean throughout the room and dining area. Perfect for a couple of nights stay, good location with close access to bus/ train. A few restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was good with plenty options.

There was some confusion at check in with 2 separate guests in front of us that caused delay to check in, no one seemed to notice us waiting to check in even though we were standing at the desk, at one point there was 6 staff trying to sort out the confusion.
