Star Hotel

In an excellent location less than 10 minutes from Hammersmith but also many restaurants and pubs much closer. Goldhawk Road and Hammersmith stations equally convenient. Both single beds had integrated headboards with soft lighting, reading light and sockets with USB.

A tiny bathroom and stairs may be a problem for some. Best to request lower floor if an issue.

The room had everything as advertised, comfy twin beds, kettle, cups and tea/coffee, en-suite bathroom which was spacious and clean, wardrobes to unpack your things. I appreciated the window could open, and there was adjustable heating in the room and bathroom. Before arrival I kept in touch because of a possible late check-in and everyone seemed accommodating and nice. The area of Hammersmith is busy but safe, several Tube stops of different lines 10-ish minutes away on foot, or buses, Tesco 2 minutes away and a lot of shops, bistros and cafés in the vicinity. Close to Olympia. When the fire alarm went off, it seemed to be handled well.

I was not impressed by the noise. The room was on the ground floor, right between reception and staff rooms. Buildings like this have poor sound insulation, hearing other guests when they stomped or used the front door was expected, you hear that in most places, but we could hear the staff talking loudly and listening to music every day very early in the morning and late in the evening which was annoying as it didn't let us sleep.

Fantastic Hotel has everything you'd want. Being located close to two train stations makes this an awesome location to explore London from. It's easy walking distance from the train station with luggage and there are lifts at the station. It's also on the train line to Heathrow but you might need to change trains depending on which Terminal you need. Portobello Road Markets and Shepherds Bush markets are only a few train stops away and it's only 20 mins or so into the centre of London. There are awesome pubs everywhere, our favourite was the William Morris. The hotel has lovely staff and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean, with a lovely ensuite, and a door to a small courtyard we could open to let fresh air in. We had tea/coffee in the room, a fan, hair dryer, toiletries and a vending machine in the lobby. There's a laundrette across the road as well as a general store/post office with ATM and several other useful shops nearby including Tesco and takeaways. A few minutes walk takes you to the main shopping area of Hammersmith with shops like TK Maxx, a large mall and dozens of shops and restaurants. The price for our stay was affordable and very good value. We highly recommend this hotel.

We loved everything.

This is a small hotel, and we got pretty much exactly what we expected given the description on booking.com. We had a room on the top floor/attic. It was clean and (just) big enough to fit two suitcases without stumbling over them. The bathroom is pretty small, but was clean and worked well. There was an electric kettle and hair dryer in the room. The staff was friendly. The location is great, particularly if you arrive at Heathrow airport. There are nice neighborhood pubs in the area, and it's just a few minutes away from several underground stations. The price level for accommodation in London is pretty insane compared to most cities in Europe. This is also true for this hotel, but compared to other choices in London this is a pretty good deal.

The room did face the main road through the area, which didn't bother us, but might be a problem for light sleepers who need to sleep with the window open.

The room was very clean and warm. The beds were comfortable. Neighborhood is quiet. Friendly receptionist. Good value for the money.

We were charged extra 29 GBP for late check-in. I don't understand why, since there was no extra effort for the hotel. I was notified about that charge only on the day of arrival, so that came as a surprise. The room we got was on the first level, right next to the reception, so we experienced loud noises during early morning and late evening. No breakfast available, but you can get food outside in a walking distance. Electrical wall sockets are not compatible with adapters - charging of phones and other USB devices can be tricky to impossible.

The hotel is situated not far from an underground station. The neighbourhood is not bad. The room was quite small but clean. There was a kettle and a supply of coffee and tea for each day. The staff was friendly and helpful. They agreed to put our baggage into the store room as our flight was in the evening.

We stayed in a room under the roof, there is no elevator and a sort of a spiral staircase to the upper floor. Thanks God my daughter helped me with the suitcase, otherwise… And there was not a good water pressure in the bathroom but probably it is typical for London, do not know.

I love the bed. It's very comfortable. The bathroom is superb. At one time, I thought I was in Holiday Inn (my go to hotel) showering. It's that good. Some hotels can't accommodate 3 people in a room. You have to book 2 rooms for 3 people. Our room is very comfortable for 3 people. If you're on a budget, I highly recommend this hotel. It won't disappoint.

This is something the hotel can't fixed. Wish the location was a bit closer to underground stations. The nearest station is still a bit far to walk, .04 miles according to Google Map. Other than that, our stay in this hotel was very comfortable and positive.

The room was ready for us spotless, and the cleaner that came after the first night did a great job tidying up without moving our stuff. All the staff members we interacted with were incredibly helpful and kind. We came as a family, my sister, 2 year old niece and myself and asked for an extra mattress for myself, and it was all ready for us, no hassle at all. They even asked if we'd prefer a cot, but the little one won't sleep in a cot but adding the matress at no extra cost was not an issue. We asked if we could warm up some takeaway late at night and they did so for is without a question, they stored the pram in the night so we didn't have to carry it, and we're happy to keep our stuff after check out until we had to leave London. My niece wanted to ping the bell every time she'd come up and down the stairs and there was no hint of any of the staff minding, instead they brought it to her and were super polite and positive. Great location too, a couple takeways across the street and a tesco also, next to the tube, amazing. Would revisit.

Room was a little on the cozy side but it was plenty of room for 2 people, and was a little hot, but a fan was provided.

Very nice place to stay for your visit to London. The staff is very helpful and willing to serve our needs. The room was very clean during our stay, daily change of towels and warm water. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed our sleep after a tiring day. The location is very convenient as there is a bus station outside of the hotel and 3-4 tube stations very close (no more than 700m). Special thanks to the gyu and the lady on the night Swifts of the reception. As I have visited London a lot of times and I know how the situation is in most of the hotels I was surprised positive. I recommend this place if you want to find a value for money hotel in London with easy access to the main city attractions.

Everything was perfect!

This is the first hotel room I've walked into and I've immediately removed my outdoor shoes. The carpet looked brand new, the room was freshly and tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. A lot of thought has obviously gone into providing every comfort. There were lovely eco friendly bottles in the bathroom and tea and coffee was provided. There was also a vending machine by Reception. Whilst the room was facing the main road all noise was minimised by the secondary glazing. The location was ideal for restaurants, shops and my destination, the Eventim Appollo. It's very safe for lone travellers.

I couldn't work out how to open the window but I'm.sure the Reception team would have opened it if I had asked them to.
