Nice feel, small and well presented boutique hotel.

only real issue was the bed. Given what you are paying for us mainly a good nights sleep it was very disappointing. Room 38, the mattress is obviously old as one side has dropped and seems like your in a pit where your bum goes meaning it’s really bad for your back no matter what your position. Unfortunately, I wasn’t asked at checkout about my stay or I would have discussed the matter. it’s not something that could have been solved without moving g rooms and after a long day not convenient at 11,30pm. A real shame tbh from what was bar a good stay.

Nice breakfast and lovely bar area. Very nice desk staff too. Great location! I had a nice desk too.

My room was a bit loud, with lots of doors banging, knocking sounds, and perhaps people stomping or falling (?) on the nearby stairs. I was always woken up several times each night, even with white noise on. It was quiet for people noise though (no music or talking noise). My room also had not very bright lighting and was a bit dim, no lamp or plug by the bed, and there were a lot of devices on the walls/ceiling (smoke detectors or whatnot) with really bright lights so the room was never pitch dark.

Excellent location, lovely breakfast, comfortable bed. Some exceptional staff members who went above and beyond, especially Lediana at breakfast and Felix on reception. Rooms are well appointed with all that you need but just need a bit of tlc. Bathroom products from Elemis are a nice touch.

Rooms were cramped, tiny bathroom, needed attention to detail. If you do turn down service do it every night not randomly. Paintwork needs attention. Top ups of tea/coffee/milk not always done. Bar staff need training. It felt like too many members of staff were in training and not enough knew what they were doing.

The common areas are excellent, luxurious, well considered, relaxing, there is a courtyard garden, a library, bar and sitting room, as well as the reception lounge. Rooms are similarly well furnished and supplied with a good range of teas, a nespresso machine, and biscuits.. plus complimentary bottled water in the minibar. staff are extremely professional and courteous. Breakfast each morning is exceptional, the continental version is buffet style but coffee and tea are brought to your table, and a hot breakfast is offered.

There is no lift... no lift... unless you are on the ground floor you will have to negotiate the staircase to your room each time you wish to leave... admittedly the staff are very quick to offer to assist with luggage... but if you are unfortunate enough to be on the 3rd floor (ground, first, second, third... the top floor) that is a lot of steps to manage. I would suggest making sure you have a room on the ground or first floor.. I loved this hotel but that is the only way i would stay here again.

All the staff were helpful and polite, smiling and friendly. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable.Air con was great and was used to cool down on my return from sightseeing. Breakfast was good and the breakfast room was comfortable with a good choice on offer. There were soft drinks in the.in room fridge.Tea and Coffee station. Hairdryer, slippers, dressing gown, toiletries by Elemis, thick fluffy towels and a brilliant shower. The bed was so comfortable, lots of lighting options and a large T.V which I used for relaxing music. Housekeeping staff visited daily leaving little treats, on a particularly warm dsy the lady had put on the air conditioning and on my return it was heaven to walk into and to find a chocolate and pillow spray. Nice touch. I used room service one evening and thoroughly enjoyef my meal after a very tiring day walking miles around the sights.

I had requested a ground floor room or as close as possible, I have a condition that can badly affect my joints making stairs difficult at times. I had a room 3 flights of stairs up, fortunately I managed ,but it could have been a mountain to climb if I suffered a flare up, thankfully I didn't. I am an older person and a handrail down the staircase to the breakfast room would also have been useful. On arrival my case was carried up to my room which I was grateful for .

I took the new Elizabeth Line from the H airport to center of London and walked 7-8 mins to the hotel. It is an excellent location. The night staff were so nice and friendly. The kitchen (breakfast room) were kept very clean. The staff there were also very nice. After the first day they remember what I drink in the morning. There were decent amount of choices for breakfast.

However I did not realize my bedroom was so small approx. 10 sqm room with a twin bed. So I almost fell off the bed a few times during my 9 days stay at the hotel. Furthermore since the bed is lined against the wall, I think most people sleep on the outer side which make the bed sagging and so it is more prone to roll off the bed as you turn while your sleep. The breakfast variety did not change at all for the 9 days that I was there. My recommendation is that we should make some changes every 3 days.

Breakfast was excellent. Air conditioning was excellent. The staff were mostly very helpful

I paid extra to be transferred to a larger room ( which I thought I had ordered). This transfer also allowed us to have rooms close together which had not been allocated from the original request. We were held up a little when leaving ( Taxi waiting) as one of the chaps at reception did not seem to think we had paid. This was done and receipted earlier after breakfast. I found this slightly irritating and embarrasing

As always the attention to detail and service by staff which is just the way it is and as a comfortable natural matter of course, vs many US properties. Kind of fun with all the little nooks and crannies throughout from access to rooms, the various seating areas inside and out and around the small intimate bar. Continental breakfast buffet was more than adequate with it's fresh offerings and variety, including various coffees to order. I found the location nice with Tube access, shops restaurants all really close, around the corner mostly, as well as in keeping with my visit to London plan for sites pubs etc. It was about 1 1/2 miles N of Westminster Bridge, maybe .7 N of Piccadilly Circus for landmarks. My wife would've loved the addition of robes, which I didn't have a lot of time to make us of. Also the comp drinks in fridge were a great touch. Sheet turndown, a chocolate, bag delivery to room very addition too. I need to mention although small room, a full size ironing board, decent size closet and several drawers. Wish I could've sampled the dinner menu as well.

Have to laugh about the loo, toilet in bathroom. I can only imagine me being 300# vs 215. The towel heating rack is basically up against the toilet, with toilet paper holder back from that. I would drape the large plush towel over the entire hot assembly to not get burned, as well as take the toilet paper off the holder and set it on top of the towel covered rack for access.

Myself and my husband stayed here across our wedding weekend. The staff, in particular Ida and Mary, were exceptionally helpful. They did everything in their power to ensure our bridal party, beauty artist and family members were comfortable and catered for on the morning of the wedding. Staff assigned us a room which allowed us to get ready for the day ahead with ease, and we really appreciated all their help and flexibility. We’ll always think fondly of the Academy! Thank you :)

We were initially dismayed to see the external scaffolding but this simply couldn’t be helped, and ultimately doesn’t detract from your stay.

Great location near the British Museum (3 munites on foot) Stylish boutique hotel with a wonderful cosy library room High-quality breakfast (but with limited cooked-breakfast options - sausage bun or bacon bun)

Our room on the top floor was tiny "Top floor" in our case was the 4th floor, and since the hotel does not have a lift climbing the stairs starts to feel annoying, especially on the last day with the suitcases No complimentary mini bar, despite the description on booking.com and in the hotel's own broshure.
