Great Wee old school Hotel very close to every amenities in Manchester City Centre only 5 mins from the Arena , great cumfy beds , very close to Arena , Tram Station and Shopping Centres ect so great for shopping ect...great Breakfast Available for great price if you've stayed a night at The Mitre Hotel , nice Wee Quiet Bar if your looking to sit for a few jars ( but pricey ) even with the 25% discount if your staying at Hotel for a Night .

Showers not to great very slow flow ( warm but not alot a force with the water ) , T.V was terrible only 2 Radio Channels on it really old style of T.V ( crap ) ,

Great location in front of Manchester Cathedral, easy walking to the centre and close to Victoria train station, for day trips to Liverpool and swift connection to Piccadilly, the main train station. Good pub inside. Good beds.

No chair in room. Wall sockets not convenient. Breakfast ok but insufficient alertness of staff - waited over 30 mins first two mornings (of four). Busy maybe but had to grab attention all the time. Absurd demand for payment of good coffee from bar because only hot water and nescafe tubes (same as in room) provided for otherwise plentiful breakfast. You can't do that! Otherwise, all went well.

Room was clean, nice decor, bed was very comfortable. Slept well. Buzz in door at first floor level gives a sense of security. Pleasant reception and breakfast staff. I didn't drink in bar as I don't drink anymore, tho I met a "lairy" young customer exiting it which put me off anyway :-) As i could not open window due to night time noise I appreciated the fan supplied to freshen the air. Wall mounted TV was working well , with a wide range of channels. Adequate tea and coffee was supplied which I appreciated as spent more time in room, tho a spoon or stirrer would have been beneficial. Adequate sockets supplied near bed, very useful to me for my sleep cpap machine and phone charger. My booking included breakfast down in the bar which was good and hot and a complete range of options for the full English breakfast. You need to present a token from reception.

Outside noise as significant, but then I did stay on a Saturday night and room was located roughly above the bar and outdoor seating areas. This precluded leaving a window slightly open. I was told for future bookings I could specify a higher level room. Plunger in wash hand basin in en suite was missing but when I let reception know they said that they would see to it. Compact size room meant not much furniture and so just hooks to hang clothes. Might be good to replace basic hooks to hold back curtains with proper tie back fittings. Shower soap dispenser seemed to be faulty but I used the supplied soap and my own toiletries. Towels adequate. Toilet is a bit cramped but to be expected for size of room.

Room was spacious with great views of the cathedral. Bathroom was huge with a bath and cosy free standing shower - no issues with a button like previous reviews! Bed was big, comfortable and location is incredibly central - stones throw away from Victoria railway station. No radiator in the room but there's an electric heater that works incredibly well. Staff were courteous and always around. Breakfast - delicious, served quickly and free for Genius members (£12.50 otherwise!).

Didn't have any toilet roll but that was quickly remedied by visiting reception. Walls are thin but the building is old and can't be helped. Door to the hotel/reception was locked and meant you had to ring a buzzer whenever coming back to the room - would have been nice to have a key but understandable in such a central location with people drinking alcohol downstairs!

You couldn't get a better location and great pub below than this ! Spotless bedding and kitchen/living area and bathroom. Staff saw we were there to remember the Manchester bombing ( we were there at the time) and upgraded us to the suite right up in the eaves of the building it was so lovely! Crooked old full of character area with 3 big beds ! Not sure what the room would have been like that we paid for ( £37) but even that was amazingly cheap so brilliant all round. Food was amazing in the pub below and you get 20% off if you are staying in the hotel

The food was absolutely fantastic! You get a discount at bar when ordering food and drinks whilst you stay in the hotel. The hotel is in the heart of Manchester so everything is super close. It is located in a very cosy place. All staff are extremely pleasant. Room was clean and tidy, got few towels and some bars of soap. Beds are comfortable to sleep on. The whole hotel and bar are very well decorated and the atmosphere is pleasant and warm. A place I will definitely be comming back to.

It's noisy, the view isn't great ( depends what room you get). The floors are super squeaky and rooms are cold( you are given a little electric radiator). Not many plugs about the room. Walls seem very thin as you can hear absolutely everything! Double beds are little smaller than what a double bed actually is. However the price is pretty good for what you get so there is only positivity here!

it’s location is fantastic we stayed there for a concert at the ao arena literally around the corner staff were amazing and very helpful the only thing I would say is the room we stayed in although the view of the cathedral was fantastic but room for improvement are room a bit tired there were no wardrobes in our room and there was hairs in the bath like someone had shaved there LG’s previous to our visit and was covered by a bath mat which is faul of cleaning staff no the hotel reception expected it to be noisy but we slept good over all fantastic location lovely staff only our room I don’t know about the rest could do with a refresh stay the 18th of January 2023

Superb location. You step out the hotel and straight into Manchester cathedral. Right behind the hotel is the Arndale shopping center and the Northern Quarter is a 5 mins walk away. Loads of restaurants, pubs, bars, well it's the city centre so. Staff was very friendly, came all the way upstairs about 5 times when there was a problem with the fuse. Had the feeling they'd do anything for you and they were very welcoming. Room was totally fine, bathroom also okay. It had everything you need (except for a hair dryer).

During my stay the hotel had a problem with the electricity and the fuse popped out all the time. This was pretty annoying but they couldn't be blamed, also they apologised many times and helped fixing the problem as much as they could. They've already had maintenance had a look at it but I think it's been because of the holidays that it hasn't been fixed yet.

Central, perfect for AO Arena concerts, shopping, bars restaurants. 10mins from Piccadilly train station, bar at hotel and on the doorstep. 2mins from the ‘Printworks’ where there are more bars and restaurants. Very clean very comfy. room had kettle, iron, fans. we had a family room for 4, it had two rooms, 1 x double bed in one and 2 x single beds in the other, perfect for what we needed. the building is old and quirky, but that adds to the charm. This hotel upstairs is dated, but we only slept there so was perfect. sheets very clean and towels provided which were also very clean. we had a private bathroom with shower, sink & toilet, again perfect for our needs. this is a great hotel but not luxury, it will certainly fit needs of either a work trip or a weekend away in the city 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The area nearby is so beautiful and quite near the Exchange square tram station. Manchester Cathedral is just in front of the hotel and a nice park to spend some quality time. Breakfast was really good, typical English style with lots of options 😊 you can refill your water bottle for free from the beer bar area at the ground floor.

The washroom is quite small and there is no lift, so if you have heavy luggage then you have to carry it all the way to reception on the 1st floor.
