The Royal George is a very well run, friendly and clean Hotel. The meals that we ate there were very good (we worked our way through most of the menu during our stay and all of the dishes, vegetarian and non-veg were excellent) The hotel was busy with several functions (a wedding, a birthday party and an engagement party plus the increased footfall due to the Perth Races) but things still worked well and I have absolutely no complaints. The Staff were all really friendly and helpful. This is an excellent Hotel and it will be first on my list next time I'm visiting Scotland.

Nothing at all.

Full hearty breakfast and an excellent high tea! The shower never ever got to scalding so was much appreciated although there were frequent variations in temperature which was noticeable but not to the extent of complaint. My room, overlooking Smeaton Bridge was excellent. The tables were always cleared quick ready for the next guests. I originally thought that the bed covers looked a little thin but I had a good night's sleep every night as I didn't get hot.

Some of the breakfast items were 'cooler than I would have expected' and the egg yolks were mainly solid. I much prefer runny yolks. The jams and marmalades were not near the toasters so I and a few others had to ask where they were. Missing the option of Marmite as well. The layout of the Breakfast area (in my opinion) could be improved. However the staff were all helpful. The shower gel dispenser didn't work and I had it replaced to my satisfaction.

Our room was smashing, clean, comfy, plenty big enough and had a lovely view of the River Tay. It was nice and quiet overnight. There had been a lively wedding party in the evening, but the noise stopped completely at midnight...we'll done!

Breakfast was a bit dull. There was just enough choice of food, but nothing sweet on offer, no cake or pastry. Nor were there any boiled eggs, but they might have been served had I asked for one, I suppose. Breakfast staff didn't keep an eye on food or drink needing to be topped up, consequently, various things kept running out. Not a disaster, but easily dealt with under good supervision.

Great breakfast, lovely location, good sized room. Good soap and plenty of towels in the bathroom. Friendly staff throughout.

Not enough milk for making drinks, although I was able to get a small jug extra from the bar. Found eggshell in my poached eggs. There was a loud noise of something during the night - not sure what - and was disturbed not long after checking in by some workmen on the roof right outside the window. Shower mat was dirty so couldn't use it. Also the shower door handle was loose and came off. The double bed was just two singles pushed together, which left a gap right in the middle of the bed with no support (and for things to fall through). Also, the wall chargers are a little too far to be used while on the bed comfortably.

The view from the room overlooked the River Tay which was very beautiful. Lovely thick curtains which made the room very dark & therefore easy to sleep in. The staff (bar one - see below) were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good, buffet style hot & cold dishes. Location was excellent.

There was no hairdryer in the room but I was able to get one from reception. One member of staff, young blond girl manning the bar on Sunday evening wasn't very pleasant, in fact my order of a glass of lemonade seemed to be a bit of a bother!

The hotel is in a great location (we found a whisky shop 2 doors down, which I definitely recommend visiting). The room was very clean and had most things we needed. The bed was super comfy and the room had enough storage for our belongings (we were attending a wedding reception so we had a few things). Staff were excellent, and the bar downstairs was not overly expensive. Breakfast was delicious.

The car park is very, very small. If you require an iron or hairdryer, you need to request this at reception.

Lovely room on first floor overlooking George Street. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast choice (could have been hotter though). We also had the High Tea the evening before which was lovely with a great view from the restaurant over the river Tay. We live around 40 minutes from Perth and often visit this hotel for their high teas which are excellent and very good value. I would recommend the poached salmon and the roast of the day. And their gigantic meringues are amazing! Centrally located in the city, easy to get around on foot and a good choice of independent shops. Concert hall, cinema, railway station, swimming pool, green areas for walking, and lots of excellent restaurants and cafes to visit.

Self service breakfast could have been a bit hotter and although there is an open fire in the lounge area, it could have topped up a bit more regularly to give a more homely feel. The hotel car parking is limited but we found a space and there are other parking options nearby.

The George is brilliantly located with the theatre, concert hall, river, park and shops practically in the doorstep. There is a comfortable and cosy feel to the George with a variety of sitting areas both indoors and out. The staff were friendly and attentive. My room was spotlessly clean and I loved the fact that it was tidied daily.

I would have liked to have yogurt available for breakfast and croissants or other pastries on offer at breakfast and I would have liked to have face tissues available. Unfortunately my first room had a poorly positioned step that I fell down but I was then offered another room. I think that first room was not suitable for guest use.

Large comfortable bed, although a firm mattress. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Attractive outlook for breakfast. Coveted free parking space. City centre location.

Pretentious room decor and small TV. Late night corridor noise was very disturbing, because of poor acoustic insulation. Overall, the faded grandeur of the hotel left us feeling slightly deflated when sitting in the lounge next to a shuttered bar at 9.30 in the evening.

We liked the old fashioned ambiance and how clean the bedroom and public areas are. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we appreciated the trouble taken to replace a sofa bed with a proper single for our son - very thoughtful, thank you.

The Dinner menu was a little restricted especially when compared with that for high tea. The duvet on the double bed would have been better had it been king size. Parking also somewhat restricted due to scaffolding against the adjacent property.
