The Landmark Hotel and Leisure Club

Building is beautiful. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Great big bed. Swimming pool and gym right outside the room. Swimming Pool, Sauna and Steam Room. The views from the restaurant are splendid. The grounds are beautiful and there is a little woodland walk to the nearest village where you can get a bus into Dundee. Really nice restaurant and the food was a high standard and not massively expensive.

From the photos we thought we were going to be in a baronial mansion. But it was a modern extension! :-D The deal we got through Booking.com was amazing and the rooms were like Hilton rooms - so this was not a showstopper by any means.

I stayed in this hotel for a week, as I had an intensive course in laparoscopic surgery at Nine Well hospital and it was a wonderful experience. The location of the hotel is worth visiting and staying in, as it has all the amenities such as a sports center, green areas around it, and a luxurious breakfast. I thank all the staff, without exception, for the kind and upscale treatment, especially the brother. David, everyone is cooperative, everyone strives to satisfy you and serve you. I highly recommend him.

Note that the room lacks only a small refrigerator, and other than that, there are no comments.

Always excellent service from the time you arrive to the checkin out at the end of my stay, Excellent breakfast choices and was always hot when ready to eat whichever time was chosen. As a disabled person my request for accessible room is always dealt with professionally, Have used the Landmark on numerous occasions it's just great.

Disabled parking spaces need to be addressed three is not enough and needs to be policed in some way by staff as on most occasions spaces were used by non blue badge olders which meant disabled customers were made to walk great distances in to the hotel

The room was a spacious, had a queen bed, desk, chair, luggage stand, side bed night stands. They have a nice lounge and dining area. The breakfast is priced right, and offers many items. I wished it also included pancakes for the Canadians and Americans. Although egg omelet is not part of the breakfast you can ask the waitress to have it made for no extra charge. Their aquatic center is relaxing with showers, dry and wet saunas, changing rooms, and a nice size swimming pool.

The blankets didn't provide warmth as they were very thin, fortunately the room was nice and warm. To flush the toilet had to use 2 fingers and press really hard. Definitely child proof and senior proof. :) I wouldn't recommend their Caeser Salad. Small portion, and drowned with dressing. The teriyaki chicken burger is to die for.

Location and facilities

When I went to book dinner I was told that they had a large booking so they would not book me in initially, when they offered room service for guests too, I was told no and had to complain before they considered accommodating me for food. When working away and booking a hotel that offers food and room service I do not expect to be told no. However they did have room for me in the restaurant and the fish and chips did not take long to be served plus they gave me the best window seat and the restaurant didn't seem busy at all.. I was happy in the end as that was a lovely relaxing spot which I wanted to relax and enjoy my stay at the hotel and that included being able to eat there!

Location and hotel itself, amazing and charming . Spa is a big plus.

On arrivel at 19:15 we were informed that there is not possible to book the restoran in the hotel, as they dont have enough staff. Very disapointing,as that was our plan at first to eat in the hotel and on Friday evening its not acceptable that they did not plan more people for a work. We were guided to go by walk in another restaurant close by, we arrived there 19:45 and restaurant was closed already. Sad that hotel did not communicate with them about closing time, as we were not only ones who was sent there, but came back with nothing. Very bad organisation from a hotel staff. And breakfast was disaponting also. Buffet very dirty, tables and chairs dirty and nobody did not clean. Service not so good.

Staff from the moment we arrived went above and beyond to give us a memorable stay. Immediately changed the location of our room due to my walking ability after an operation. The staff were very polite and fulfilled every request without delay or question. Room was warm and comfortable towels changed regular as well as soap, gels, hand and body cream, tea, coffee, sugar, milk replenished. Breakfast had plenty of choice from cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit, usual continental breakfast items, and of course full Scottish breakfast. The staff at breakfast were busy replenish ing frequently anything that was needed. Clearing tables in good time and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you so much

Nothing

The building and grounds are beautiful! A mixture of old and modern. The outside area is amazing to explore, and the bar area is very relaxing. The conservatory-style room where we had breakfast was beautiful! The staff were all really lovely. The lady on reception, the lady on breakfast and the young guy in the swimming pool were so friendly. The bar staff were excellent at making cocktails and nothing was a problem for them. 10/10 staff!

The swimming pool changing rooms were extremely unclean. I think there needs to be a rota system for this as it hadn’t been cleaned in days / weeks by the looks of it.

Good breakfast to be had. Well equipped room. Friendly staff. Powerful shower over the bath in bathroom. Good sauna in the health club. Didn't try the steam room so can't comment.

There is no Jacuzzi which was disappointing given range of other equipment and I think really is needed. It looks like there is a space next to the swimming pool for one to be. Swimming pool looked clouded at time of our visit so didn't venture in it. A bit of a re-think needed on little things around appearance like leaving laundry baskets in corridors all of the time and the washing machine area laundry doors open all the time in corridors. These should be out of sight, staff only areas in my opinion.

Location was convenient for us as we were attending a wedding nearby. Good size car park. Average rooms, nothing special but clean and tidy.

The dining experience was a nightmare. A mix up by staff meant we waited nearly an hour and half for dinner but was fine when it came. Breakfast was a shambles. Nowhere near enough staff, had to clear own table in the end, food not replenished so lack of choice. If you want toast make sure you don’t have to be anywhere else in a hurry. Staff seemed inexperienced maybe because they were all so young. Definitely needed someone to be in charge.
