Sunbank House Metro Hotel

Beautiful old house decorated tastefully and very clean. Great breakfast, quality produce. Hotel has its own car park and the hotel is only 10mins walk tops into Perth. Staff were polite and friendly, in particular Graham .

Didn’t like having to book a breakfast time slot and being told to be prompt! We were 10mins late for our 830am slot and the staff member serving breakfast was not pleased. It was a really good breakfast and we were offered more tea and toast; the service was really good despite this blip. We were in Room 8, a lovely sunny room. It was extremely warm , we had to open the windows to let the heat escape. We also slept with the windows open; ear plugs were needed. Take some if you are a light sleeper and are allocated a room facing the road. Friends in a different room didn’t hear any road noise.

Exactly what we were hoping for. I booked this as a surprise for my husband's 50th Birthday after reading reviews from others and wasn't disappointed at all. The hotel was spotless, the staff were all lovely, Findlay was the perfect host and was always on hand to help, he and his wife Agnes also made amazing breakfasts, unfortunately we couldn't have our evening meals at the hotel, due to staff shortages, but we were only (approx 10 minutes walk total judgement) or 5 minutes from the centre of Perth by Taxi and there was plenty of options, I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

The property appears to be an old mansion, accommodating guests in rooms of different sizes and overlooking different sites of the building. It is immaculately clean throughout, well organised, and offering everything one might need during travels. Mattresses are very comfortable. Every appliance working well. The breakfast is superb, offering a variety of appealing options. The owner is outmost responsible and goes out of his way to accommodate his guests in any way possible. Supporting staff is very friendly as well and works efficiently. The level of hospitality is of highest degree. The historical city center is a short walk across the river and the hotel is surrounded by many splendid gardens. The Kinnoull Hill Wooded Parks are just around the corner and is a pleasant walk up to the several summits, overlooking the city and the environs.

There is nothing we have to say negative about this place. Despite of the evident aging of the property, it offers much more, in a humane sense, than the modern furnishings in many fancy hotels do.

I stayed in a single room with an external shared bathroom and was pleasantly surprised at how spacious and comfortable the room was. The bathroom was large and clean, and honestly felt like I had my own bathroom because it must not be shared by many rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great. Surprisingly for a hotel, the coffee was very good! There was ample parking right outside and the hotel was very easy to find

The window in my room was blocked from opening, not a big deal but something to bear in mind if visiting in the height of summer

Wonderful stay at Sunbank House Metro Hotel. It’s located around 10 minute walk from the city centre, which is great to enjoy both a bit of quiet, but be close to the activity. We arrived in the evening and were greeted by the owner, who was very welcoming and kind, explained all the details to us and directed to our room. The room was very cosy, spacious and with a huge bed - perfect, as I like to have space during the night. We had to pre-order our breakfast selections in the evening, and had quite a lengthy menu to choose from - porridge, cereals, toasts etc to start, as well as full Scottish Breakfast or poached eggs with salmon, kippers and other options. After a very good night’s sleep, we headed down to breakfast and felt very cared for - all the food was delicious and homemade, and we took nearly a full hour to slowly work our way through all the food. We had to leave shortly after to continue our trip, and the checkout was very easy. Overall, a wonderful stay, a very lovely welcome, and we enjoyed having a chat with the owner over breakfast too :) Thank you!

The room was a bit too warm for our liking, but better that than too cold :)

Very cosy room & nice atmosphere. Friendly & helpful information especially the tip for evening meal, the Tavern didn't look so great from the outside but the food was very good. The Breakfast at the Sunbank was great & all in all an enjoyable stay!

While we both understand the reasons for doing it, we really don't like having to choose our Breakfast the night before. For the main cooked part, fair enough, but for the cereals etc we would prefer that to be more of a free choice! Otherwise, it was a very good Brekkie with plenty coffee!

The room was clean and comfortable, with pleasant decor. The breakfast was fresh and tasty with good, local sourced produce. The dining room was well laid out and had a good view. The breakfast was prompt. The price was reasonable in relation to others we looked for.

It rained very heavily so spent a bit more time in the room than anticipated. However, the comfort of the hotel meant this was not too bad. Therefore, this is not really a complaint. The hotel was in good walking distance from the restaurant we had chosen for dinner.

Our room had street frontage but did not hear a thing. room was quiet and cosy with no need of heating, room beautifully presented everything very clean , as expected at breakfast attention to detail perfect. My smoked salmon and scrambled eggs delicious . Breakfast was a little extra on top of accommodation cost but highly recommend it. Thank you to hosts Finlay and Agnus for a wonderful stay.

everything excellent, would stay again

They were incredibly accommodating when we arrived well ahead of the check in time. We were able to use the facilities to get changed and then have our key before we left for a wedding. The breakfast was very good as well and we liked choosing it the night before and scheduling a time as well.

The extractor fan in the bathroom was really dirty but I pointed that out to the staff on check out.

Very comfortable and clean room. Good location in a very nice and quiet area just 10 mins walking from the city center. Free parking space. Very good breakfast with several options (to be chosen the day before)

Missing mobile showerhead in the bath. Overall feeling was that they tried to save (food) waste wherever possible and not counting on the responsibility of the travelers.
