Inchture Hotel

Arriving to a smile helps to start the process. and a helpful reception was what we received. We had a little problem with teh bed, but imagine our surprise after a fabulous dinner, that the cost was waived. we then went and left a coat, which they located and posted to us. To say they go over and above is to underestimate them. The bar is cosy and friendly, the restaurant light and airy with superb well chosen food and well priced to. The location is quiet but close to Dundee and stunning countryside, as well as the fab Abertyne Antiques Centre, which was a grand 4 hours of browsing! When I head up that area again.. this will be my choice of hotel. Loved it.

As always, there are things that could be better, but really, the "bed" incident, was nobodies fault. and raised a chuckle from us. Anything that can be improved is one of those difficult questions, that deserves an answer. Stay exactly as you are, its all good ;)

Clean, comfortable, peaceful & everything (except bed room tv) worked well. Exceptionally good value for money. Dining room in a beautiful large conservatory.

Fixtures & fittings all quite tired, but everything (except the bedroom TV) worked well. Bedroom tv clearly dying: most of screen orange with a monochrome band just where people’s faces tend to be. Not a serious problem, however. Unpromising looking elderly electric shower in bathroom actually worked very much better than most do.

Lovely breakfast served from 10am which suited our situation as we were going to a wedding that afternoon. Comfy bed and nice room.

We were in room 3 above the kitchen. From early evening until 10pm constant banging noise every time someone went through the swinging door from kitchen area to restaurant, but quiet all night thankfully. We didn't complain at the time but hopefully by mentioning this the hotel will look investigate.

Property is visually beautiful, well manicured outside and in. Ample parking in a very sleepy village setting, with a very handy shop directly across the road. Room had a good layout, with very large sized bathroom. Bed was comfortable, the usual need to use all 3 pillows as they were flat. Night lightning was nice, 2 out of 3 lamps worked, but wasn’t a problem. Plenty of towels, one is needed for the bottom of the room door as the hallway light lights up the room at night. Small desk was perfect to do some emails, and also had space for a wee kettle with the usual hot chocolate, coffee, etc. Staff were extremely approachable, had no problems getting me a room fan for the second night. The first night I arrived back around 11:30pm, after a work event then seeing family. Main building was locked, but a quick message via this app, the staff told me the room key opens the main door, as it closes around 9:30pm, so all good.

Likely due to the architecture of the building, the room didn’t have a proper window, as I guess this would face directly into a bar/lounge area attached to the main building. It’s been replaced with a large built in mirror, which was actually really handy. But this made ventilation really a problem, especially after a bath, as there’s no vents anywhere. There is a bathroom window which pulls up if you have the strength. Mould around the bath seals, and shower hose well past it’s prime. These are the only negatives. They had no problems providing a fan, so the room temperature was very comfortable on second night.

The staff were fantastic couldn't br more accommodating. We had travelled 1.5 hours for a hospital appointment so we stayed overnight. The appointment was then changed from early morning to afternoon. My dad wasn't well enough to walk about Dundee all day and the staff were absolutely brilliant they let us return to our room and use it for the afternoon free of charge. Nice to know there are still decent nice people out there! First class service.

Would have liked instructions on how to use the hot water heater in the shower. Kept running out of hot water before I was finished. Would have liked some Kleenex in the room ( facial tissue)

unpretentious, comfortable and relaxed, authentic and well-located

great difficulty operating facilities in bathroom. toilet flush difficult to flush and shower difficult to stabilise with appropriate heat. also, shame no bar facilities out of season, even on a room service basis. given considerable travel may be involved before or after stay

Pleasant staff, free parking... request was taken care of prior to arrival. Nice little pub as well

Pretty sure the place is haunted....about 2am I heard furniture being dragged slowly then dropped across a room above me for half an hour...on repeat and suddenly it stopped!....spoooooky

The restaurant was really good, quite a comprehensive menu and a good selection of drinks available to the table and from the bar also.

Room could do with updating with regards to the furniture but when u consider the price which we thought was excellent the furniture matters neither here nor there.

The staff were extremely helpful and informative. The food was good especially breakfast which had an excellent choice. Nothing was too much trouble

The beds were a little too soft for me. Unfortunately our room was over the front door which banged loudly every time anyone from the bar went in or out.A slow closer would help
