Couldn't fault anything. I travel a lot for work and it's probably the best hotel I have stopped in for a while. The staff are super friendly, the hotel is very impressive as are the grounds. Super comfy bed and black out blinds helped me have a great sleep, I even struggled to get out of bed in the morning as was so comfy. Spacious and spotless bathroom with great shower and even a roll top bath. If I'm in the area again I would definitely stop here. I don't tend to review the hotels I stop in but was so impressed with this stay, I just had to.

Spacious, comfortable room, super bed and linens (excess of trim and pilllows). Great breakfasts with excellent friendly service. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly without trying too hard. Very welcoming atmosphere.

Limited choice of dining in the hotel and no options within walking distance. The bar menu is so-so, and the main dining room is too formal - they need a halfway house! Fancy shower with three choices of water source, but limited water pressure - I'd prefer a simple shower that works. Lots of towels, but nowhere to put toiletries, no shelves, no hooks. Poor lighting. Thoughtful little ideas would make all the difference.

The building is very impressive and set in beautiful grounds. The interior is tastefully designed and furnished and the interior was thoughtfully laid out.

Being partially disabled I find climbing stairs difficult and painful and the lack of a lift seemed an unfortunate lack of forethought and an obstacle which might result with a decision not to return to this venue in the future.

Ambience of the hotel was excellent and had a quiet room as requested. Bed was comfortable and bathroom facilities were exceptional. Had a fridge and mini bar. Room service was available until 21.30. Gardens were pleasant and well kept with mature trees and shrubs. Shower was great easy to use and hot with good pressure. Curtains were dark and floor to ceiling allowing dark to sleep in after travelling.

The size of the bedroom was compromised by the bathroom. Leaving little legroom to squeeze by the wall mounted TV and the bed. There was dust behind the radiator in the bathroom. The cold water in the room was warm therefore had to request a bottle of drinking water obtained from the bar. Also requested fresh milk for tea. Would have liked and expected a proper Nespresso Machine to make coffee in the morning. Most hotels of this quality supply them as standard. A few sachets of coffee powder and a few tea bags and one packet of biscuits seemed mean and detracted from our enjoyment of the stay. I found the cost of meals and breakfast expensive therefore did not eat in the hotel but visited nearby establishments.

Whitehall is a comfortable room with high ceilings which make it feel spacious and airy. The restaurant has a number of menu options, which work well for the solo business traveller. The staff in the restaurant and bar (Messoud and Ruby), were friendly, professional and attentive.

The timing of the central heating system needs some attention, the heating didn't come on until around 1900 which meant the room was a little chilly on arrival.

The breakfast and dinner was very good and the dining room had a smart yet relaxed appeal. The bedroom was spacious, warm and well-located without a long walk to the lobby area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel had attactive gardens situated by the local village which was historical and picturesque.

In a case of style over substance, the taps on the wash basin were a poor design and were not able to withstand heavy use. The shower wet room didn't drain very well causing water to also run across the bathroom entrance which could be hazardous.

Situated away from town. Quiet, secluded and beautiful grounds. Staff lovely. Beautiful looking room and great size and massive bed. Restaurant food was truly delicious. Separate area for afternoon tea looked beautiful too but didn't have time for it sadly. In reception and restaurant areas, lovely background music playing.

Whilst the room was spacious, clean and beautiful, it was impractical. Nowhere to put toiletries, very poor lighting for make up etc. Lovely big bed but too soft for me. Bathroom same.... beautiful looking but not practical. Half size slipper bath, so not relaxing and did not drain well. Again, nowhere for toiletries or to hang used towels.

Lovely old property, an oasis in the middle of Plympton. Lovely ambience to the place.

Our original room was on the small side( even though 20m2 on Booking.com website, 5m2 of this was corridor!!!) we were upgraded to a larger room and our bathroom was as big as the bedroom. Very quiet and peaceful when overlooking the gardens.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were great

I needed a chair for the shower and it couldn't be provided. The toilet was right be a large window so the blinds needed to be closed at all times. The breakfast was lovely but the poached egg tasted too much of vinegar.

The staff is very good. Great at checking, and so helpful and attentive at the bar and restaurant. Too cold to venture outside but the garden view was amazing. Great location and grounds.

It is such a beautiful building, shame the decor it's a bit old-fashioned. Looks likes it has been recently renovated but still lacks style, could beca little bit more modern and fresh to attract youger people. We only stayed one night so but most of the customers were pensioners.
