Hotel Du Vin, St Andrews

Parking was available on the street in front of the hotel at no cost. The hotel is an elegant older classic style. Room and bed were comfortable. The reception staff was helpful, warm and cordial.

The restaurant was the only disappointment at the hotel. Food service was slow and disjointed (another post Covid short staffing with inexperienced staff issue?). Food was mediocre at best. The extra cost breakfast- 7:00-10:00am- was completely out of pastries when we arrived at 9:00am. Staff told us the morning bakery delivery failed to show up. We expressed our displeasure to the wait staff. The hotel did compensate by charging us. for only 2 of the four breakfasts.

Ideal location, warm welcome, nicely decorated, very comfortable room, not too big and soulless yet not too small and overall a really nice stay.

Nothing. Although I wish it was more affordable in the summer, but that’s St Andrews.

Our room/suite access to both the street and the hotel was wonderful for the dog and graduation preparations! I can honestly say the slow cooked beef rib was the best meal I have ever had - and I don't make comments like that lightly! I had it both nights we ate at the hotel it was so good. We were able to eat breakfast in the bistro with our dog - who also had a hotel breakfast. of sausages We all felt quite spoiled.

The system for ordering food in the bistro, because we had the dog with us, led to some confusion about whether we could order from the restaurant menu, this was easily resolved by hotel staff.

The hotel was stunning and the staff were attentive. We checked in late as our flight was late and the night staff member seemed to be incredibly put out by this which we thought was a bit off putting. The female receptionist the next morning definitely made up for this along with the other gentleman that checked us out! Overall great place

There was a dog staying in the hotel who continued to bark the whole stay, the owner didn’t attempt to stop him either

Breakfast was excellent as was the bar drinks & location

The nonsense of suggesting we didn't have our room cleaned during our 2 night stay - that it was for environmental reasons. It was obviously to save on staff costs! What would save the environment is not having a bathroom fan on continuously. There was no way to isolate it! Also saying the saving of the cleaning is donated to charity was of no interest as we donate & raise monies for many charities. I would rather Hotel du Vin employ more staff

Very friendly staff, superb location and parking availability, whole venue was nice and clean, dog friendly and room was very spacious with great amount of amenities available.

For someone slightly taller than your average person, I found the bed quite small/short which led me to have my feet hanging off which was rather uncomfortable. Other than that, it was the most perfect stay.

only problem is parking which at times can be difficult with office staff from various St Andrews businesses securing the spaces. Hotel car park is small with very few available spaces. Only other small issue was the lighting in the room. I appreciate the hotel uses energy saving bulbs but the light generated was very poor and it was difficult to read with bedside lamps only!

Really beautiful hotel in an iconic St Andrews location overlooking the beach and 2 minutes from the Old Course. Very dog friendly and it’s a brilliant place to stay with your pooch with great walks all around. Especially loved breakfast - delicious cooked options and a great continental buffet too. Gorgeous rooms, lovely staff and good value for money for a treat.

Nothing. Would be great to have a gym but it’s an old boutique building.

Fantastic location excellent service, food and room

Very expensive and room a little noisy above function room. They were aware it was for my 40th birthday weekend but hotel didn’t go that extra mile and do something for me like and upgrade of room or a drink on the house. Little details that make the difference.
