The staff and the food. So much so that we ate in the bar two of our three night stay. Exceptional staff and I really mean that. Friendly, attentive and helpful. The hotel/bar is cosy and has a great atmosphere. I visit Broughty Ferry most years for golf and have stayed in an adjacent hotel with a more corporate feel. I couldn't get it this year and found the Fishermans after a search. It's now without doubt my No1 place to stay in the area. Thanks guys.

Absolutely nothing!

We had a huge room with a comfortable double bed, The rooms were very clean with all the facilities. The location is next to the sea, almost end of the road. The restaurant in the hotel seems to be very popular in the neighbourhood and is always very busy. You need to book a table in advance, which we did and had a real delicious dinner. I specially liked the Hunter's chicken and the Trio Burger, Thanks to the chef. Ryan and the lady manning the reception and the bar were very helpful

The approach and the satircase leading upto the rooms are a little congested, but this is something to be expected since the rooms are above the restaurant & the bar. There is no parking at site, one has to find parking slots on the roads nearby.

Location is great, right beside the water, other pubs and local shops. Great atmosphere in evenings, good bar lunch and dinner. Room was comfortable and spacious. Broughty Ferry Beach is only a short and scenic walk away.

Even though the pub food is excellent, the breakfast was disappointing and not fitting rest of experience. The menu is very limited, not well executed, no options for vegetarians and only filtered coffee.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Fisherman's Tavern. The pub itself is cosy with good food and vegan options. Arriving, I was greeted warmly and offered a table for an evening meal. The room is a good size, with a good bathroom and a lovely view onto the street (very quiet, and feels like a village). My only issue was how warm the room was - a good heat for most people but I couldn't find a way to cool it down, although the staff were friendly enough to just ask. Broughty Ferry itself is a lovely area with the feeling of a fishing village, especially by the river, which is where the Fisherman's Tavern is. Getting to the Tavern from the train station or by bus from Dundee is a pretty short walk, and it's close to Broughty Castle and a small marina, highly recommend on a summer evening for a post-dinner stroll.

I was totally satisfied with my stay

we use the Fisherman’s Tavern for work regularly. The rooms are always clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and always happy to help. The full breakfast is excellent value and really high quality/

my room was above the entrance/exit to the pub. it has a late closing time and I was woken by loud voices/shouting and the banging of doors. it’s not the be all and end all but would be good for people to respect those staying in the hotel when they leave after a few drinks.

Staff were amazing. The room was really comfortable and had everything supplied. The hotel is really quirky, being three little cottages combined into one. The restaurant was great - the fish and chips was first class! You can stroll along the sea to the Broughty Castle. I would highly recommend The Fisherman's Tavern to anyone going to Dundee as it's not far from the city.

Brekkie was Scottish serving- plenty! This is a historic establishment, so expect low ceilings built for short humans, but it significantly adds to the ambience, fun, total experience.

I was pleasantly surprised by this authentic Scottish accommodation and would gladly recommend to my friends and others. I loved that the attached pub had an extensive high quality menu.

Very nice hotel pub excellent food and extremely nice staff. Very well situated for everything in Broughty Ferry. Had several visits and enjoyed our breaks. Very clean and well kept rooms. Just a stone throw from the beach. .

Would perhaps benefit from a larger dining area for residents. But this was New Year and we were seated in the bar opposite toilet corridor entrance which was busy.

Staff were friendly. Easy check in / check out Good selection of beers / wines

Nothing really that we didn't like The shower in the room could be awkward for older people not steady on their feet. Suggest a handrail fitted. The room above made a bit of noise early morning - a bit heavy on their feet - but not much the hotel could do about that.

The location was wonderful, close to the sea front but turned out to be a nightmare for parking. I had to wait until after 6pm to get my car on another street I was exhausted after carrying my luggage ( I have cancer ) Had to be up and out to move my car each morning by 8pm due to parking restrictions. To be fair there are road works blocking some parking close to the pub. Staff were polite and helpful at breakfast and able to seat me at a good social distance from others due to my vulnerable person status 're covid. I loved the bathroom, fabulous bath The bed was very comfortable, loved the quality bedding

Parking Can be noisy it is a pub, and there is also noise from the kitchen. It didn't bother me but might not suit others in the downstairs rooms.
