The charm of the old hotel , the location is perfect being on the high street of wooler . The hotel is very historic , it’s charming and quirky .

Iv been to this hotel numerous times . The only complaint I have on this visit is turning up to breakfast 10 mins late , being told I couldn’t have my poached eggs . I did pay for a full cooked breakfast each day. I said fine I will just grab a coffee . The lady changed her mind and said I could have them but she was on a tight schedule so I felt rushed . That’s my only complaint

Breakfast was excellent. Lovely produce and we kept forgetting to pre-order but it was no problem for the staff to deal with. Didn't have dinner. The room was lovely. The bath was gorgeous.

I think in places the finish is a bit rough. There was no grouting between the tiles on the bathroom floor and the tiles in the shower had grout smeared over them. Seems a shame. Also and I have said this before, if you provide a mirror over a dressing table you really need to provide a light too. It's impossible to do your makeup in the mirror provided as its so dark. I ended up having to prop my own mirror up on the bedside table under the lamp. Would be great to have a cover of some type to stand under when smoking.

Were swapped to a dog-friendly room which was very big and more like a suite. Had its own parking space which was handy. Didn't charge us extra for the room which was appreciated. Breakfast expensive for what it was so didn't bother on day 2. Food in pub part was nice - especially the flatbreads which were huge! Staff were amazing - really helpful and kind. Very accommodating. Said they were dog friendly and we certainly found that to be the case. Thank you.

Room needed blinds fixing/fitting - don't mind that it was light at 4am as slept well in the comfy bed but looked a bit rough and ready for an update. Shower has notice saying it fills with water - wait and then get back in once the pooled water clears - bit inconvenient but I managed to get a quick shower both days before it was too full. Should really remedy this. Couple of other snagging bits in the annexe where we stayed but all-in-all it was a lovely place to stay - felt like a holiday cottage.

The hotel is set in a lovely village in the heart of Northumberland. The room we had is accessible only from outside the main building, however this was quite a quirky but surprisingly spacious room with a very large & fairly comfortable bed even though it seemed little firm to begin with, a good sized TV and plenty of natural light mainly from numerous windows in the ceiling, the bathroom was very small but manageable and a dinning table which sits 4 a couch and a 2nd single bed with loads of room to spare. There was a dedicated parking spot available right outside the room which also had a table and 2 chairs giving you the option of an alfresco drink. We only had the breakfast which was cooked to perfection so can't comment on the bar or restaurant food and lastly the staff were kind and attentive. It's well worth a stay.

The room was very bright early in the morning as on some of the windows (ceiling only) no blinds, the shower cubicle had a tendency to flood (there was a sign explaining this to be fair) so be careful and a few to many cobwebs throughout but no spiders, and a large wardrobe with no coat hangers very odd.

Great location within Wooler. Rooms were individually decorated-each one unique. Very comfortable and very clean with plenty of hot water. Friendly staff. The Inn was very old-loved the quirkiness of the old windows, uneven floors & crooked door frames-it added to the authenticity of a very historic building!

Booked 2 rooms, hoping we would be next to each other-we were placed in rooms at the total opposite side of the hotel to each other. Quite a bit of late night noise from the pub/karoake across the road from the N0.1 Hotel(Nothing the owners could do about this-not their fault!)

We just had a 3 night stay in Wooler and enjoyed a stay at this hotel. We stayed in room 1 which was a lovely large double room with lovely decor and a lovely roll top bath. The only thing I would comment on is that the hairdryer didn’t reach the mirror and had to move the kettle to window ledge to boil so it could really use a power socket on the other side where the kettle is situated. There is a lovely bar area where we enjoyed a few drinks during our stay. We didn’t eat here as apart from when we arrived Sunday afternoon and they had a carvery but at all other times there was no food on offer which we assume was staffing. (There was a menu in the room advertising food every day) We did however enjoy a couple of amazing meals at Milan restaurant which is opposite. We got breakfast at a couple of different lovely places in the town. There is parking at the back and the hotel entrance there too but check in is at the bar area so best to just go in there. Our room was spotless but general cleanliness of the building could be improved. I got the impression that they are currently short staffed (like many places) so I am sure those small things could be improved in time. WiFI worked perfectly! We had to leave early at 9am due to a long drive home and there was nobody around to take our key so we had to leave by the bar as wasn’t sure what to do. We would absolutely stay here again. A very enjoyable stay.

We had a lovely stay here! The room decor was amazing. The bed was super comfy and the rolltop bath was excellent! The room was clean and very well presented. Very friendly and professional staff during breakfast. The location of the hotel was very good, central to local walks in the Cheviots.

The room didn't have a window that opened into fresh air (looks out on to a covered courtyard). The shower / bath taps leaked when in use.

Hotel lovely as were all the ladies working in there.

Barman was rude. Asked us to leave. I agree my 2 brothers and I were lingering in bar. We were quiet and talking and I was crying over recent loss of my father. He asked us to leave but didn't offer for us to go in adjoining area where other residents were finishing their drinks. He took my almost full glass of wine and poured it down the sink before leaving premises and slamming door. Not a great end to our evening.

Great breakfast, Room was clean and comfortable, Staff were friendly. A great base location for exploring Northumberland.

Breakfast wasn't available until 8.3am, earlier availability would be helpful. There was no space in the bathroom to store toiletries but it would have been easy to provide a short shelf above the sink for such items.

Breakfast was amazing, staff were lovely, really liked the decor and artwork and internal features.

There was no fires lit in the fireplaces - it would have made it so much more cozy and welcoming. There was no food on in the evening so we had to go out, and the bar shut early.... not really complaining, Milan acriss teh road does a great Pizza, but guests arriving on Sundays should be aware
