We couldn't rate the George Inn more highly. Everything was just lovely. Food was exceptional and generous (both breakfasts and evening meals), landlords and staff were really friendly and accommodating and they do the best pies we've ever tasted! The pub was so cosy and has been kept as a proper, traditional Inn the likes of which are hard to find nowadays and so nice to have landlords that actually take the time to sit and chat with you and do everything they can to make sure you're happy and comfortable. The location of the Inn is idyllic too. Perfect for long walks and appreciating the Dales. George the lovely little pub dog is the icing on the cake. We'll definitely be back!

I can't think of any negatives! Loved our stay.

Beautiful setting, very friendly staff (and other guests), great food and beer. An absolute classic Yorkshire country inn.

It seems a bit mean to mention it, but the only negative was that the doorway and roofbeams of my room were low enought for me to bump my head a couple of times. But that goes with the territory of a historic place like this, and I would be more than happy to stay in the same room again!

Beautiful little inn in achingly beautiful dales countryside. Food was very good and reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was small but clean and had all the facilities I would expect, including an excellent shower and - most importantly - a kettle. A lovely slice of old world hospitality that feels a million miles away from modern life.

Friendly welcome. Totally organised and efficient set up. Larger than expected room. Monday night was pie night, we weren’t sure at first, but the choice and in particular the quality of the food was superb, Sarah is an amazing chef. We were walking the Dales Way, as were other guests and Ed, the landlord, made sure we were all introduced to each other. Great breakfast and Sarah gave us all invaluable information about refreshments on our walk ahead. We will visit here again. Thanks.

We loved everything about the place.

The best pub in the dales with the best landlord and landlady in the dales. Ed and Jackie are chilled out and make your stay memorable. As Vegans we were surprised their chef rustled us up a vegan breakfast and it was incredible. The wood burner on an evening is the most relaxing place in the world. A lovely cosy pub which I hope never modernises - it is beautiful and cosy. The location couldnt be better - Cray and Buckden nearby for a nice triangular walk. Stabotton / Kettlewell / Arncliffe all within walking distance. A wonderous part of the world.

Charming accommodation above a beautiful old pub in a lovely setting with great walks right out the front door. The pub also had excellent food and drink. Ed was an extremely good host, who knows the name of everyone who graces his establishment. Sarah, the chef, was also extremely welcoming (and a very good cook!!)

Nothing really!

Fantastic welcome from Ed and Jackie-they look after you very well. The pub is very cosy and the wood log burner is a real welcome after a long walk in the surrounding countryside. A great pint of beer and very friendly banter from Ed and Scott-the barman. Sarah the chef provides a delicious choice of food to eat with her award winning pies. The gold star awarded fish pie is my favourite. We enjoyed our stay so much we will definitely go back

A very friendly and welcoming place. Staff quickly learnt first names and used them. Made one feel at home. Liked the informality and that you felt part of the establishment as everyone - guests and staff seemed happy to talk with each other. Food was excellent and came with help and advice about choices. Full English breakfast tasty made with good quality ingredients. Loved the feel of history in the building and that staff were well informed and talked about its past. We had a wonderful 2 night stay.

We were walking the Dales Way and The George provided an excellently located stop for us. Ed looked after us during our stay, he asked and remembered our names and the names of all other guests which was impressive. The food was superb - especially the award winning pies! A great place to stop. Don't forget to visit the Church when you come to Hubberholme.
