The New Inn was so full of character, it was absolutely charming. We just loved the fact that it was also the village shop. Rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Especially the attention to details like luxurious toiletries. They had a extremely large selection of Cask ales which the landlords were so passionate about. Food was for residents only and was so so good, we have never experienced food, that was so full of flavour in many many years and was the icing on the cake for us. Bar closes at 7.00pm just so residents have a very peaceful stay and we had the most wonderful stay. Thank you very much to our hosts Sarah and Graham you totally nailed it!

We couldn’t fault the property in any way.

The owners were absolutely lovely. They instantly made you feel at home and were really keen to make sure you had a great stay. The rooms were spacious and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The breakfast that was included was great - it was cereal and pastries with lots of tea and coffee. Overall, we loved it. Thank you, Sarah and Graham!

The only slight downsides (if you can even call them that as they’re very minor) is that the room got a little too hot for me as the fire was lit downstairs and the weather was quite warm, and we could have done with more shelving space in the bathroom to put our things on. But that’s only if I’m being really picky.

The couple were a good pair for the business & the food was exceptional. I'd been coming to the Dales since being a kid in the 1960s & remember the pub & it's fellow hostelry the Craven Arms well. Breathtaking view of fields & forests from our first floor window at the front of the pub

Nothing comes to mind. Pub hours varied but with another similar cosy pub 250 yards away what's not to like? Bar a bit noisy when locals in but landlord has to look after his bread & butter regulars.

The location and views are amazing The room was beautiful and comfortable and shower faciltes lovely. The bar area was typcal rural 'Yorkshire Dale cosy' and food was very tasty

Having to pay for minimum 2 nights stay made our stay the most expensive of our whole week. Given that we were walking The Dales Way, and I would imagine most guests would be, so only a one night stay was needed. Had to order our meal 24 hours in advance and food was not served after 6.30pm

The location is great for walking the Dales way and is on several long distance cycle routes. The pub is providing a limited service because of staff shortages and Covid, but they are very welcoming. The room was clean and well prepared, the food was simple but very tasty and they have a great selection of well kept beers. We only had the (room based) continental breakfast, rather than the full English, but there was plenty to eat. We had three evening meals at the pub, and they were all delicious, but there's currently no desserts.

The pub is in a gorgeous situation with beautiful views. It’s cosy, had loads of atmosphere and the landlord and staff are very friendly and hospitable. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom included an excellent shower. The room was very simply furnished but included everything we needed.

A cold breakfast was provided in the room. There was a generous supply of cereal, juice, bread, croissants etc. but eating in a small bedroom is not very comfortable. However this was a minor issue in an otherwise delightful stay.

The owners were brilliant. Really welcoming and friendly. My room was comfy and cute, but for the price and the size, I was a little bit disappointed. My friends stayed in one £10 more expensive, and I wish I had done that as there wasn't much room for 2 people. Would definitely return when I'm in the area, but upgrade next time! Thank you for our stay

We have enjoyed an excellent stay, room two has amazing views over the countryside to the front of the pub. The pub itself is traditional and cosy, with delicious homemade food and a great range of beers and cider. We stayed for 4 nights, the continental breakfast provided in the room was superb. Many thanks to Sarah and Graham for being great hosts. This is a brilliant place to base yourself to enjoy the best of the Yorkshire Dales.
