Great location and character being a medieval inn. Staff very friendly and helpful and meals good, especially breakfast. Room comfortable and clean with en suite facilities. The price was exceptional value for money. We would happily stay there again.

There were some very minor issues with the bathroom which will be easily rectified now they are aware of them.. Our room and two others were accessed from an outside staircase. This was no problem to us and it was summer.

Extremely handy for travellers on A1, it is a mile away and a genuine timbered old fashioned pub in quiet little village.Fabulous wonky floors too. Food appeared genuinely home made and a nice change from the prescribed chain pub menu

The real ale was just ok not quite right. You will get noise in Ur room from the bar but that isn't a criticism it's the nature and age of the building with the bedrooms directly above the bar

Great location for a run we had to get up early for. Handy for the A1 😁 Room was clean but basic, Bedding lovely. Friendly staff and made breakfast half an hour earlier for us. Food on the evening was great. 👍

Very shabby round the back of the hotel and our rooms were up a metal staircase almost above the pub with zero views and was a bit expensive but I'm just a tight Yorkshire man 😂

Breakfast and evening meal fantastic great service and happy helpful staff would recommend the Blue Cow Build a Burger. Locals in the outside eating area very friendly and welcoming as were the staff The inn was built in the 13th Century and has its own quirks with a lot of history to it as well as a few other visitors lol

The Inn itself is in need of a fair amount of repair and TLC but as the owners only took it on at the start of the pandemic this will be improved on as time and business expands but does not detract from the happy atmosphere and friendliness

The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly and very very accommodating. The food was delicious and the bar and restaurant was really lovely, traditional and welcoming. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms are a good size.

The rooms were a little tired, one of the headboards was broken and there was some rubbish left under the beds. Could have been cleaner, just needed a little TLC!

Friendly staff who were polite and helpful. The location was good and the breakfast was excellent. We ate in the bar on the evening and the food was great, drinks a reasonable price.

The bed was a bit saggy, the pillows were old and lumpy and the room was quite dated. The bathroom was functional but needed updating.

Found this cute stay in a country pub. The room was basic, but had everything that we needed as we had a few days driving about. Booking in was quick and staff very friendly. Room had tea and coffee making facilities and even though the room we got was two single beds we managed to push them together. Breakfast was large and came quickly and the evening meal in the bar was very nice. The hotel has a lot of parking.

The staff were nice and the room was clean - it was exactly what we needed while attending for a wedding. We were able to check out a little later than 11 which really helped. The food there was also very nice

It’s slightly noisy but it’s an older building so too be expected. Overall really good

Excellent breakfast and good resteraunt in the evening

It is a very old building, probably 1700s and that reflects the interior, Ie, small doors and steep stairs. If you don't mind, a good place to stay reflecting the price and excellent value for money.

Fascinating history with parts of pub hailing from 12th and 15th centuries. Many original features - beams, brickwork. Home-cooked, tasty fresh breakfast and great pub suppers

Could maybe scour the antiques shops and put some old South Witham or Grantham prints and photos up and better accentuate the older features.
