Lovely place, staff were very welcoming. Food was excellent, great evening meal and fab breakfast too. Room was lovely. Great location, dog was made very welcome too. Set in a lovely village. Good value.

Advertised as a Superior King Room with en-suite and shower. However the ensuite bathroom could easily only accommodate Hobbits. Could not easily access the sink without banging my head and could not reach the shower which was attached to the bath taps due to the sloping roof. No main light in the room either.

Stayed here for one night as a Valentines treat! Arrived early afternoon, managed to sample a couple of pints of 'Timmy Taylor' - excellently kept. Had a pleasant light lunch home made tomato soup & coronation chicken sandwich. Really nice especially accompanied by another couple of Timmy Taylors! This was in the bar area, which is cosy and comfortable. Rooms are comfortable & functional. Tea / Coffee facilities along with sparkling & still water are provided. Very clean rooms. Bathroom shower, no bath . No problem for us. Be aware the ensuite is one person wide. We had an excellent dinner, starter of Chorizo & prawns mixed in with Samphire - wonderful and compliments to the chef. Mains, Seared Salmon & a Steak - again extremely well presented and cooked to perfection. Puddings, can recommend the Lemon Posset or the Sticky Toffee pudding full of taste & just right. Wine selection good, though a tad overpriced a Soto Mayor at £26.00 is a bit of a mark-up! The dining area , is pleasant and casual. The over-riding factor to why this was a good visit is the staff. Engaging, polite and service orientated. I did not get any names unfortunately. The chap that checked us in & served us lunch (I believe quite new) to the lady managing breakfast & chopping wood deserve a pay rise!! Breakfast, excellent portions as in super size. Again a great chef in residence. This establishment is 'dog friendly' I do not have a dog. However, I have and therefore have no issue with dogs or their owners. What I do have an issue with (not the Coach House) is owners finding the necessity to have there dogs in the dining room. This happened at dinner and breakfast. Totally unnecessary. Dogs in the bar , no issues. Maybe the Coach House will consider maintaining a dog friendly environment but no dogs in the dining area would be welcomed. Your thoughts? Overall, nice visit , lovely village & some great walks for all.

Friendly and attentive staff Lovely breakfast and evening meal Room was very clean, although the decor was a little tired. Good location

Had to ask for some milk to make a drink in my room. This was readily supplied, but I didn't need all of it and there was nowhere to keep it cold to use for another drink later on. The shower attachment was hand-held as opposed to above-head, wall-mounted, which, for me, made it too awkward to use. This may not be a problem for other guests, though.

I’m not sure we received the room I booked, we had an attic room which was very small, the bathroom was even smaller, Im 5ft-9 but still banged my head due to the shape of the ceiling, no shower and a bath so small it was suitable for children not adults. On a plus Emma who served breakfast I believe was the owners daughter was lovely and looked after us, the breakfast was outstanding the pub on the evening was very welcoming and friendly. We will be returning at some point in the future and would recommend a stay.

Nothing to complain other than my earlier comment, we will be back😎

The location of the Coach House was good, lovely walks around the area and not too far from nearby towns. The breakfast was good, very filling. The staff were all very friendly and eager to please. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The shower nice and hot.

Although the cooked breakfast was excellent, there were no cereals. A small serving of fruit was provided though. The bedroom was clean and comfortable but the en-suite very narrow and needed some TLC. The TV was very small.

Proper local pub with lovely rooms and really good food. The staff were incredibly helpful and really went above and beyond to make my stay a pleasant one. Lots of nice touches, such as fresh milk for tea and coffee in the room which is a lovely touch, and providing a light picnic breakfast as I had to leave early (with no extra charge!!). Also really helpful in advance of my stay, finding me a suitable room for me and my dogs.

The bed was a bit hard for my tastes!

The location suited me very well for what I wanted to do. All the staff were very helpful, accommodating and pleasant. I appreciated the off road free parking as well. The breakfast was very good. The evening meal menu was not extensive but there was a choice and the food was good. I also liked the slightly larger than usual single bed which was nice and comfortable.

The room was a little small and the en-suite a bit tight but they had made good use of the available space to give en suite facilities which I appreciated.

The food on the first night, and breakfast 1st morning were fantastic, but must have been different kitchen staff on our second night. The veggie options were much appreciated. Enjoyed the outside seating area, pool table, good beer, friendly staff. Lovely village with great walks and handy for Rutland Water.

The weird room with windows only accessible by ladder. Our visit was just after the heatwave, the heat hadn't escaped the room so was absolutely sweltering. The only to get air circulating was to have the door open, not ideal!

Amazing little haven, off the beaten track. Such a great place, couldn't find fault anywhere. Lovely pub, fantastic staff, really talented chef, great wine list.... My intention was to visit for two nights but doubled my stay just to try and get through more of the menu. It was a pleasure to meet everyone that worked there, the owner has picked a great team and every one a credit to this fantastic venue. I've no doubt I will return and book time and time again. If you want to visit Oakham or Stamford, stay here! it's slap bang in the middle of both beautiful towns and the golf course just five minutes away, is glorious. Every meal here was superb. Brilliant stay 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟+
