Waterfront Southport Hotel

Good choice of breakfast. I am vegan and there was a variety of non dairy milk available as well as some cereal, fruit and toast. Great location, lovely bar area and outside terrace. Clean and spacious room. Comfortable bed and great shower.

The window in our room was broken. No option of non dairy milk in the room to use with the tea/coffee. Hotel parking is expensive. We parked on the car park next to the hotel for less than half the price.

Fab place nice rooms our superior on the 5th floor had a view of the lake. The outdoor roof terrace at the bar was nice to enjoy drinks & relaxation out in the sun on deckchairs or seats. Great sunset too. Staff went above & beyond to see you had what you needed for a nice time away too. Will return for sure.

Parking £15 so leave your car outside their underground parking for £4.50 overnight seems safe to.

Location, breakfast food,Staff in general, they were very polite, They respected and greeted you every day. It is clean every day, They changed towels every day, arranged the bed, Vaccum, as should be, 10 for the staff

There were more, I can say it didn't deserve 4 stars, the window handle was missing in the room, so I couldn't open the window because there was a tape in its place, it doesn't have a mini fridge, rust on the bathroom handle, at the door yes it opened, 2 people had to push the door to open, The door was too tense, all this was in room number 230, Everything I said above And the vault no longer needs to advertise it if it's already locked and you can't use it These are little things that only hotel maintenance can do, so more work needs to be done on this department. I am sorry to say these things, but they are true. It's the little things that matter

The location was great! The staff were happy with multiple people coming to our room to help us get ready for the wedding.

We were expecting a bigger room than we actually got and pictures had us believe that the seating area and table were a separate area, instead of right by the beds. Also I left behind a bag of unopened ready made formula as we left in a rush as needed to get to my wedding. When I returned less than 24 hours, they had been found but immediately binned. I was really disappointed by this. If they couldn’t have kept them, surely it would be better to donate them to a food bank instead or try contact the guest that had checked out first?! The pillows used were feather ones which I’m allergic to and disrupted me getting to sleep.

There is a lovely spacious dining area and plenty of room to sit and relax.

Absolutely hated the black plastic beakers to drink hot drinks out of - they should be left for camping! I found the communal toilet doors to look like something from a council set up so that was quite disappointing if you are looking from an aesthetic point of view. The bedroom was very clean however, we seemed to have inherited somebody else’s long hair which was all over the floor in the bathroom alongside other shorter hair. The Liverpudlian receptionist in the morning had a very curt manner and really should not be working in hospitality perhaps a refresher course maybe appropriate. We went along to the bar at 22:48 as we’d been advised by the evening receptionist it closed at 23:00 so we were surprised to be shouted at by two people that they had indeed closed.

I booked through booking.com had I booked direct I would not have charged £15 overnight car parking fee.

We cannot thank the hotel reception ladies enough for our recent stay at the Waterfront hotel. After a long journey from Cornwall to visit our dying mum in Southport General, we were badly let down by our Airbnb booking. It was below freezing temperatures and we decided to see if there was any availability at the Waterfront Hotel, we had stayed before and had an excellent stay. The ladies on the front were so sympathetic and helped us out enormously, with charging our phones so we could keep in touch with the hospital, extending our stay and upgrading our room, they were just so very lovely, we felt like we were really looked after by them, a huge Thank You!

The hospitality staff at the bar and during breakfast were sadly, not so good! On all occasions we had to ask at least twice for our coffee in the morning and then when it turned up it was either so weak it looked like tea or so strong you could stand your spoon in it. They also don't seem to have much social awareness, remembering who ordered things or just general chit chat. In the morning they look like they are dressed in whatever they could find, for such a stylish hotel I would suggest a uniform of some kind especially as its regularly used as a wedding venue.

Different time settings for breakfast either 7,8 or 9.0'clock. Breakfast was amazing continental, cereal and a full english We was in room 214 for 3 days from tuesday to friday had a fantastic view of the lake on the right hand side. Staff were really helpful and polite 100% would highly recommend this hotel fantastic location for beach shops, walks, restaurants.

The entrance to the hotel and to the underground car park needs signposting. The entrance was on the main road and it didn't say you need to go throught the doors and up the stairs to the reception or along the road turn left then left again to the underground car park.

Having stayed here previously and enjoying our stay we returned for a short break as usual the staff were extremely friendly and helpful from front of house to house keeping. We love staying here as its clean modern and close to where we want to be.

The only thing that let the stay down was breakfast time. Having to book a time you would like to come you expect there to be enough food for everyone there unfortunately drinks were running low and breakfast even lower. With very little food to pick from as most dishes were either empty or had very little left having to ask waiting staff if there would be more brought out. When it did finally come out queues were long which again resulted in food running out. Which left us slightly disappointed with not much to pick from.

Stayed for 1 night with my 2 daughters. Arrived later than anticipated , however reception staff member was understanding and this was not a problem. Talked us through b/f times, check out time, etc as we had not stayed here before. Everything was fully explained to us. Made to feel extremely welcome. On the off chance I asked if late check out was possible, it was, free of charge-Thankyou so much we really appreciated this extra time :) Room clean and tidy. Some small stains on carpet near kettle etc, but nothing to put us off, tea, coffee is easy spilled. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. All staff polite, friendly and welcoming. Lovely comfy beds. No complaints at all - will stay again. We only went into restaurant/ lounge/bar areas so unable to comment on other facilities. All areas we did access were extremely clean and tidy. Thanks for a great stay. The lady on the bar serving us, again, was very polite and nothing was too much trouble. The fact that the guy on reception was so friendly and helpful made our stay relaxed. Sorry unable to remember his name but please reward him for his excellent customer service. He cheered me up after a very stressful journey. Thank you!
