Hotel is lovely, clean and very central. It is a perfect mix of rural meets chic and we loved the location right next to the river. The staff are very efficient and so happy to help. Didnt meet a single member who didn't smile genuinely as they worked. Breakfast was extremely tasty and you can tell that they go the extra mile when sourcing the products and cooking them.. Would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay here again if in the area.

Can't complain about anything but would make people aware that the car parking area is only small and can get busy. Staff will do all they can to help you get into it but there is a chance that you may need to park on the main road which is quite steep. Wasn't an issue for us but people with mobility issues may need to park in the public car park 5 minutes away, at £0.70 per hour.

This is a fabulous place to stay and we've always received a very warm welcome from the staff. The rooms in the courtyard are brilliant, with your own 'front door' and very private. The pub itself has a good selection of wines and beers and although we didn't eat there this time the food we have had in the past is excellent! The markets which are on Fri, Sat & Sun are worth a stroll across the road to visit, Fri is a second hand market, Sat is crafts and Sun is a foodie's heaven! Already planning our next visit!

Parking can be a challenge but any parking in a place like Hebden Bridge is a massive bonus!

We were expecting a standard room in the courtyard, but actually had a beautiful deluxe suite room, which was fantastic. Beautiful bathroom with both a bath and separate shower. Lovely comfy bed and plenty of space for both of us, including a cosy reading corner. We ate at the pub in the evening and the food was superb (great steak pie and fish and chips), as well as being reasonably priced. Staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was really good - cooked to order and delicious (full English and bubble and squeak with kale). There was free parking and the pub is right in the centre of the town, so perfectly located. The stay exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend this wonderful place for both food and accommodation.

It didn't bother us, but there is a small window for breakfast from 8am - 9am.

Great pub with wonderful happy and polite staff. Room was clean and comfortable although our room was right next to the A road at the back so that was a little noisy in the morning! Very comfortable beds and clean rooms.

Could have been a little more in the way of in room guest extras- water bottles maybe? Breakfast took a little longer than expected and then when arrived it was very dry (was this cooked in an airfryer maybe?) and because of this we were unable to finish them. It would be nice for the juice jugs to be nearer the guests so they could help themselves too. With the cost of breakfast and the hotel stay I would like there to be an option of 'help yourself' cereals/ pastries/ toast so that if the breakfast does take a long time you have some food to eat while you wait.

The White Lion is ideally located in the centre of Hebden Bridge and very dog friendly, as is most of the town. The room was perfect, especially with a dog, as the door opened onto the courtyard meaning we didn't have to go through the pub each time . The evening meal and breakfast were both very good. The breakfast menu seemed more upmarket from the usual B+B and highly recommended. The service was brilliant

Hard to find any faults with place, only slight problem is car park is limited and only narrow entrance to it but with such a historic building in a busy town, we were just glad to find it had parking at all.

Brilliant location in the centre of Hebden Bridge, our standard double room was accessed via the courtyard and had everything we needed for a two night visit. Clean room and comfy bedding. Slept very well listening to the sound of the river churning over the nearby weir. Couldn’t fault the hospitality of the staff or the quality of the breakfast (which we found to be generous, well cooked and extremely tasty!). Enjoyed a pint of local beer in the pub in front of a roaring log fire, but had our evening meals at the nearby Trades Club and Coin, two of many places to eat/drink available within easy walking distance.

Some damp damage/stains on the ceiling in the bathroom.

Had a courtyard room which is great for coming and going with your own private entrance and parking right outside . Low but comfortable bed with everything we needed and very clean and well presented . Quality teas and coffees and biscuits provided in room with proper sized kettle too ! Had the festive menu for our dinner which was excellent value and quality and breakfast was fab too The staff were all naturally friendly and welcoming and the whole place had a good relaxed vibe Definitely be back

Bed a bit low maybe .. but didn’t affect our stay

March 2023

The pub was in a nice spot, near the centre of town, by the river. Our room was in the courtyard area, there are about 5 bedrooms there. They are quiet and well equipped and beautiful! The room had a double bed, tv, wardrobe and cupboard space. There was the usual tea/coffee/biscuits and a proper sized kettle. Other bedrooms are in the main part of the hotel. The bathroom had a large bath with a shower over, and toiletries. Everything was very clean and tidy. The room was warm (we stayed in March) and cosy. It's about 10m walk to the door of the pub to go for breakfast etc. Food was delicious, we had a full English on Saturday which was huge. Came with toast, juice and hot drinks. We also ate there in the evening (I'd recommend booking as its popular) we had a table in the bar area, food is lovely. Staff are great. I had Whitby crab and a Caesar salad with chicken and chocolate and pecan tart, husband had black pudding scotch egg and pie followed by crumble. Priced very well. Great evening.

Nothing. The car park is small but they do help to fit your car in. Once parked we didn't move it as we walked places.

The staff were fantastic, very welcoming, friendly & exceptionally attentive. A huge credit to them all. The room was comfortable, warm & a really nice to come back to, with the roll top bath a real treat for my wife. Breakfast catered even for the biggest eater. The general menu, served throughout the day, also served up large portions; was well presented and tasted great. The price was a tad high for bed & breakfast at an Inn, even a quality one, but we knew that at booking.

In the room, the shower was disappointing - flow of water being weak, coupled with my pet hate of a fixed shower head with no wand for the body. Seemed to be a limited number of Freeview channels from what we have at home, but having the catch-up offering (BBC, ITVX etc) helped overcome this. Breakfast time was too rigid for us - 0800-0900 too early for a relaxing lie-in break, hence we missed it for our main day of staying and just had it on the day we left. Would suggest times be spread wider, up to 10am. Main menu could have done with more variety, perhaps some lighter & more mainstream meal options - I left half my food, not because of quality, but sheer size.

Lovely spacious room with excellent facilities. Although on the front of the building it was very quiet and relaxing, liked the fact that you could open the window fully and let lots of fresh air in. The bar staff were very pleasant and polite, the lady who was happy to check us in early was lovely too. The bar was really busy when we arrived but plenty of staff and so no waiting around to get served. Fabulous location for the town and if you get chance try the pizza's from the cocktail shack place...fabulous!

Difficult to park, but we knew this having stayed previously and it didn't put us off.
