Amazing location. Accommodation is a 17th century inn, but rooms have been nicely renovated. Owned by a Thai family, so they serve a wide range of Thai food in the evenings. Very popular with village locals, so a lively, friendly pub in the evening with excellent cask beers.

Nothing really, as long as you accept that the pub is 300 years old, so don’t expect a modern hotel with lifts (elevators) etc. Breakfast is laid out on hotplates like many continental hotels, rather than cooked to order, which seems to trouble some, but not us.

Breakfast was wonderful, Cathy was a great host. The pub atmosphere was friendly and everyone was chatty willing to answer all my local-hotspot-questions - I can't remember the bar staff's names but they were super helpful offering advice on travel routes to Heptonstall from town in the evening. Also the pub is at the top of a walking route about 30ish minutes down to Hardcastle Craggs and seconds from the old church. Looking forward to trying out the Thai menu next time I'm in town.

Nothing, it was a brilliant place to stay in a beautiful part of Yorkshire.

Location, comfortable and thoughtful touches on the bedroom. Lot's of choice of tea and copy.

All gluten free bread was snaffled at breakfast by other guests before I got a look in as they had no idea it was gluten free,,, it wasn't labelled and it looked more appetising than the shop bought on offer as it was freshly baked.. So went without for both breakfasts. I had asked lady on first morning if it was the gluten free bread I had requested and she didn't understand what I was asking because of the language barrier.

Lovely little village. Clean rooms. Lovely evening meal and breakfast.

No central heating in room or bathroom but had one oil heater to compensate in bedroom which we kept the door open to the bathroom to warm that up too. Was OK but towel rail wasn't on so cold wet towels. It was the same in the pub where we were eating breakfast bearring in mind it was Feb and snowing outside. The staff were lovely though. In the bar the real fire was burning in the evenings giving a lively cosy atmosphere with lovely friendly staff and lovely food x

My room was very clean and comfortable. I perhaps would have liked a bedside table and also a chair to chuck one's clothes onto but other than that no complaints. The food was excellent, the staff were extremely good, friendly and efficient and there was nothing that Terry the landlord wouldn't do for you.

One or two little niggles but really not worth mentioning.

The Cross Inn is situated in the scenic village of Heptonstall, a short walk along the cobbles from the ruined church and only a mile or so from Hebden Bridge. The walk down the hill has great views of Hebden & the valley. I stayed in the Ted Hughes room, which has its own shower and w.c. Special thanks to Lindsey who made me feel very welcome.

The gluten free Breakfast ( lovely sourdough gf bread, cereals, yogurts )provided by Nancy was brilliant and my husband’s non gluten free breakfast was delicious as well. Excellent place for exploring the area and the history of the coin clippers. Fabulous views down the street and walking around the view down the valley was perfect.

Nothing where it is it can’t be improved.

The Cross in is set in a picturesque village, it was very homely warm and welcoming. A nice sized bedroom with reasonably comfortable bed. great tea making facilities with a good choice of drinks and bottled water. Option of bath or shower. Staff helpful and welcoming. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast which had plenty of choice and lovely fresh bread. An enjoyable stay.

Nothing we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return

The Cross Inn in Heptonstall was a fantastic find. The village it is in is stunningly beautiful and has amazing history attached to it. The pub itself was comfortable and had the friendliness staff ever. We also visited the other pub in the village The White Lion, which had an excellent choice of drinks, lovely staff and friendly locals. The breakfast was provided curtsey of the local cafe in the village and was excellent quality and again the staff were super friendly.

The host and all the staff are very helpful and personable. The location is wonderful in the centre of this historic village. The bar and lounge are both comfortable with a coal fire, and the locals keep the place busy. Beer is kept very well and food is excellent and v. reasonably priced, with a good selection. Room was a good size, warm and very clean.

Kitchen upstairs so some kitchen smells in bedroom, although kitchen closes well before bedtime. Rooms are due for a refurb. Mattress perhaps a little hard. You need to find parking outside the village centre which can be challenging but no problem for us this week.
